Good Morning! Please add us to the trip list: kimj88 Jan 27 - 1 Feb, BCV (split stay with Poly 1/23-1/27). THANKS!!!

thank you for adding us! I had a question but it was already answered... No on the renting a cot for our younger son :( This was a perk at WLV, and BWV to have the murphy bed... oh well he will sleep on the floor. My next question was if we want a view of the quiet pool, is there any section that is best to request?? thank you!

Hi, Can you please add us...
Good Morning! Please add us to the trip list: kimj88 Jan 27 - 1 Feb, BCV (split stay with Poly 1/23-1/27). THANKS!!!

Any suggestions or strategies for room requests? Have never stayed at BC before. We want to be away from the elevator for maximum quiet but would love to be close to lobby. Long shot?

The main elevator opens to a vestibule on each of the floors so there aren't too many rooms that are close to it. I would just request a quiet room close to lobby. :)

Many years back, I bought a hat as soon as I arrived in the Magic Kingdom, and then went on Splash Mountain. Wouldn't you know, the hat flew off my head on Splash Mountain. I reported it to Lost and Found. A long time after I returned from my trip, I received a package. I opened it up and there was my hat! It had a big grease mark on it. Anyway, they never called me to let me know that they had found it, they just shipped it back to me.
Thanks for your story! Maybe there is hope.

:welcome:

I also want to say thank you to your husband for his service and to your family for your sacrifices.

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list on Page 1.

We are happy to answer any questions you have about the resort, but for starters, I would like to recommend that you check out some of the other posts on Page 1 of this thread- Post 13, FAQ and Post 14, Other Useful Info both have a lot of pictures and helpful info.

A couple of comments about room requests- there are a few rooms with king beds, but not many. It is not a bookable category. So having "King Bed, please" as your first and possibly only request is best. Also, only about half of the rooms at the Beach Club have full balconies, the rest have smaller, standing room only "Juliet" balconies. So if that is something that is important to you, you may want to change your request to:

"King bed, please. Full balcony if possible"

:thumbsup2

Thank you so much! I will read the entire thread again and take notes. I think I'm feeling overwhelmed with all the changes. Luckily we it just being us we are going to booze and grub and ding aling with holiday cheer ourselves along for the trip :santa:

Trying to catch up as I've been so crazy and away from the thread...hate it when "life" gets in the way :upsidedow.

Gearing up and so looking forward to our upcoming trip. Sadly, we had to drop CL but I'm still excited to be returning "home" to our favorite resort and seeing the new rooms. DH & I were just talking last night about how much we are looking forward to just relaxing on this trip and after the few weeks we've had, we need it. We plan to spend a lot of time at the pool and Epcot for F&W and other than our anniversary dinner splurge at V&A (first time), we have no other dinners or lunches planned....we will just be "winging it".

3 more weeks, 3 more weeks!!!

Oh my. Our wonderful bride group suffered a tradgey today. One of our wonderful ladies who was just at Disney this week, and had a photoshoot with the amazing Randy Chapman took ill when she got home. She lost her life this morning to meningitis. She was only 30. Life is so cruel at times.
SO VERY SAD!:sad1: 30 years old, in the prime of her life! Thoughts and prayers for your loss.:grouphug:

Housekeeping needs a refresher course. After 3 days I noticed something under the luggage bench. It was bathing suit bottoms. Not mine....... my coffee pot wasn't cleaned they kept only leaving 1 coffee cup. And I had to track then down because we were left with an empty tissue roll and no replacement
Glad I wasn't a first timer because there was NO literature on the resort in our room.

I kind of expected at least a happy anniversary card in the room, ....we didn't even get an acknowledgement from the staff after 8 days of wearing a button. Nothing. Nada.

I think it will be a while before we stay again which is sad because it used to be our favorite.

I know you're a veteran ocalla but I do hope you can contact guest services and let them know about your housekeeping. We stayed at another resort in June and the difference in housekeeping was obvious. I know it's a hit and miss but we don't pay for the misses.

Thank you for any help! It's all very appreciated.

And let me also thank you and your family lovemygoofy for your service. Hope your vacation is everything you deserve!

And yep Dee. You can add me to "The List". Lee Ann and I will be at BCV's April 14 - 18th for the Star Wars Weekend Race. Back home!

So I received the email today that we will bypass the front desk and go to our room via a text! Is this okay with the dining plan, as I assume it's all on there?! We are soooo hoping for an upgrade, yea right, but you never ever know :)

Thank you for your understanding words! We checked out of Beach Club yesterday and are back with family in Orlando. Lost and Found has not called and I have given up hope. DD has had a rough few nights but we're all surviving. This one loss and my over planning really had a negative effect on this trip. The magic can't happen when you are constantly running to an ADR or park hopping to get to a FP. You live and learn:)

I did this on our second trip to WDW. Our first trip, other than a few sit-down meals, we hadn't planned anything, and we had a great trip. The kids loved the character meals so I thought I'd book more for the second trip. It was borderline miserable.

With a wave to Ocalla (who loves Villains) and to Beth (who posted a picture of another wonderful Villains shirt from The Beach Club earlier in the week). Both of whom were scheduled to end their current stays in The World today:

I'm really looking forward to reading their comments about their vacations. I hope that they were ... spectacular!

What a great shirt! And I could handle the sizes. And my children and grandchildren no longer seem to spill things on me quite so often as they once did ... :) So, the only dangers white poses for me are now usually self-inflicted. Too, the sleeves are a godsend. For me, for more reasons than just Florida's frigid indoor climes. But, I haven't yet arrived at the age that you've mentioned, either. And, at 72, I don't think that it's going to appear in my sadly-unmagical mirror anytime soon.

I suppose, though, that the shirt could be layered over a sleeveless white tank/camisole. It is almost too darned cute to pass up entirely.

And speaking of Villains and cute ...

Below is a collection of several of Disney's more prominent delinquents imagined as perfume bottles. I found them by following the links in Momofmikey's post to the Strategies board. That led to Cartoon Brew's site. And, ultimately, to the artist's - Ruby Spark's - page

On the left is my family (including me) as I imagine us as Villains ... distilled, bottled and shelved. My grandson (who this board has now met) is on the right ... :) Further to the right is the remainder of the collection. And I've deliberately postponed labeling them (you'll find the lists in very small print at the bottom of this post) because I thought that some of the members might like to try their hand at indentifying the individual nefarious characters sans a cheat sheet. And at assembling their own fictitious fiendish families.

Note: It is obvious, isn't it, that I'm going to have way too much Disney time on my hands between now and October, 2016? But, wouldn't it be wonderful if Ruby Spark's beautiful bottles actually ... existed? In a Beach Club shop?

gg

Our Villainous Family: Captain Hook, Ursula, The Queen of Hearts, Cruella and Jafar
The Rest of The Wicked/Top Row: Scar and Prince John, Madame Medusa, Gaston, Yzma, Hades and Mother Gothel
The Rest of The Wicked/Bottom Row: Doctor Facilier, Claude Frollo, Governor Ratcliffe, Lady Tremaine, Maleficient, Gideon, Foulfellow and The Evil Queen

Those are some seriously cool perfume bottles. I'll take Maleficent, thank you!

Oh Pinkgirl, how incredibly tragic.

Booking our August 2016 trip today - one night at GF, 5 at Poly, 5 at Yacht Club (almost did Beach Club again but decided at the last minute to try somewhere new). Can't wait to get back to Stormalong Bay - I miss my sand-bottom pool ;)

I asked this on the main resort board, but no one bit. I realized I should have just come straight to the experts! We are thinking about doing an 8am ADR in Epcot during our BCV stay. Is there anything special I should know about early entry from the IG? We have done an 8am from the main gate in the past, but this will be our first time at an Epcot resort.

Your entry through IG for an 8:00 a.m. ADR is the same process as the front gate minus all the crowds. Just approach one of the security guards at the gate and they will allow you to enter 15-20 minutes before your ADR time. Be sure to have your ADR as proof in case they ask to see it, but I have rarely seen that happen unless they can't verify the ADR.

Thank you thank you! I figured it would be, just wanted to confirm.

We just decided to arrive a day early to Disney and our current resort is fully booked. So after much debate we picked BC for our one night. So excited about our first time at Stormalong Bay.

With 5 of us we figured it was cheaper to spend the night there in one room and take advantage of the pool rather than spend money on an extra park day or add the water park option.

Since we're splitting the room cost between 2 families it not only was a cheaper option but it's allowing me to be able to justify staying at BC.

So after that long ramble we'll be checking in on Sunday 9/27 for a night.
