Resort Thread Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB Resorts

We are doing Hoop Dee Doo also. I could not chose between the two. LOL, That day we are doing Animal Kingdom in the morning. Its the Night of Joy even so I thought we would say away from MK that day.

If you have a car and are going to be at Animal Kingdom, I'd drive over and park at the Fort parking lot and then take the inter-bus. Allow plenty of time though. It takes a while to get the bus back to where Hoop and the BBQ are.

Animal Kingdom Lodge is tricky because Animal Kingdom Park closes on the early side. I normally tell people to look at what times the parks close that night. If your dinner is going to be over around 9 PM, then your best bet is to take the bus to Magic Kingdom and then transfer to a Y&B bus at Magic Kingdom. If Hollywood Studios is open to 11 PM, then you can take the bus from Animal Kingdom Lodge to Hollywood Studios and then take the boat back to the Y&B.

Downtown Disney is always open real late but I use Downtown Disney as a last resort since it is the farthest away from Y&B.

If you have an early dinner at Animal Kingdom Lodge, you can take the bus from Y&B to Animal Kingdom Park and then hop on the Animal Kingdom Lodge bus but that rarely works coming back since Animal Kingdom Park usually closes fairly early. Once the new attractions are open at Animal Kingdom Park, then the Park will be open later in the evening and you can use it as a bus transfer place.
We have a dinner planned at AKL, planning to go after the day at AK. I think dinner is 5:45 and then I want to explore the resort a bit but thanks for the tip on a ride back to DHS! I'll have to check and make sure they're open.

Hi, just found this thread, and haven't read the whole thing, so please excuse me if this question has been answered already. Does anyone know, does the Yacht Club offer a guided tour of the resort (as some other WDW resorts do)? Thanks in advance.

It depends on what you are wanting to tour. If you are looking for meeting space, wedding locations, or planning some sort of special event, you can arrange tours of many of the deluxe resorts. We toured several a few years ago when planning a big family get together through groups/events. Also brides and grooms can tour various venue locations.

Well, I was thinking more of a general tour like they have at the Boardwalk resort, but thanks anyway for the info.

Y&B opened in November 1990. We are celebrating our 25th anniversary this year!!!! But I remember the flag system!!

I thought there was a good reason we picked this year for our first stay!!!

Good morning!

I was wondering if anyone knows if a folded up jogging stroller would fit in the BC closet? I hate having it take up space in the room and would love to stash it away.

Also, would you visit a water park or do you think SAB is enough water fun?

Our family went back and forth on this but we finally decided we wanted to do the wave pool and a few intense watersides in addition to what's offered at SAB. so we went with the water park option on our tickets.

Well, we were successful in the first leg of our journey! Made to our hotel just south of Atlanta and have a 5 hour drive tomorrow before we get to BC!!! We will be there for 12 days so if anyone has any requests or questions just hit me up and I'll do my best to answer. Thanks to everyone on here for providing great tips and answers to my questions! The studying and planning is over....time to take the "test"!!!

Our family loves SAB, of course, but we always visit the water parks too! Have a wonderful trip!

We are thinking about visiting Jellyrolls or Atlantic Dance one night during our trip. I've been able to find a little info, but not a lot. All pics and videos are really dark and you can't see a whole lot. Anyone have experience with either? Any suggestions/advice? I did learn that Jellyrolls has a minimum expenditure, a cover charge, and has a lot of "rules."

We go to Jellyrolls almost every trip. It is fantastic!! The piano players are absolutely incredible and can play songs, by memory, of several musical genres. They take requests from the audience. Not only are they amazingly talented musically, but they engage with the crowd and like to joke around. There are 4 guys performing each night and they alternate every hour so the entertainment never stops!! There's something like a $12 cover charge and there is a full bar inside to buy drinks. No food is served, other than unlimited free popcorn. To guarantee a table, I recommend arriving by 8:45pm at the latest. Otherwise, you'll be standing around the bar.

I've walked into Atlantic Dance Hall a few times (no cover charge), but it has been dead each and every time. Jellyrolls is not to be missed if you're looking for a fun, adult evening with some fantastic music!!

Jellyrolls sounds like fun!!!! Can you tell me what the dress code was like?

You'll see everything! It's basically casual (shorts/capris), but I've sometimes seen wedding parties come in all dressed up in their finest!! We always dress in nice casual (collar shirts, capris/shorts) and never feel out of place. On our last visit, we had a table beside us where the people were wearing suits/dresses and the table on our other side were wearing tank tops and Disney Mickey ears! We like to fall somewhere in between. :D

Thank you!! That was the way we were leaning since we had the same 'dead' experience with Atlantic. Glad to know the dress code is varied too. Any info on the minimum? I read on Yelp that they keep your CC when you walk in and charge a $50 minimum?

35% supposedly.

Thank you very much- the BB offer will make my life so much easier than waiting for discounts to come out during the year or waiting for a pin code!!!

I'm assuming that once you have the reservation locked in, than you can make room changes- which I seem to do a lot of- I changed this year from CL water view to just a garden view- now I'm at a water view only!!

Hmm, that's not the way it worked at the end of February. When you enter Jellyrolls, you pay the cover charge by whatever means you want (cash, credit card) and you keep your credit card. Once you are seated, the waitress will ask if you want to open a tab OR pay with cash as you go. We usually do open a tab, in which case the waitress does take your credit card and hold it until you close your tab. We've always had the option not to open a tab though, which means you would keep your credit card. Also, our card was never charged a $50 minimum. We usually only get 2 drinks each, and when we close our tab, the total is only for the amount we ordered. Now, it's possible they put a $50 hold on your card? I don't know that for sure, but I can say that we've not been charged a $50 minimum.

My guess is that they "authorize" your cc for $50 to make sure your credit will be ok. Then you just get charged for what you order. We have been a few times and only paid for what we ordered. We have always had a great time at Jellyrolls!

Yes (fruit, eggs, yogurt in the morning), trail mix, Swedish Fish. For nighttime apps- depends on the night: chicken skewers, olive plate, fruit, cheeses.

Best bet is to contact them to see if they can accommodate you while you are there- special cookies or apps

:thumbsup2
I can't speak for the BC/YC but a friend has gluten allergy and DL Hotel accommodated her. All she did was tell them when she got there. I'm sure you can have that added before you arrive. I also saw them make arrangements for a child with food allergies in the CL lounge at the YC
