Resort Thread Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB Resorts

I have a question I should probably be able to find the answer to, but cannot.... Can the kids wear a floatation device (puddle jumper) on the big slide?
Yes, I was just going to recommend that to @BostonDisGal. Life vests are available at the pool. Also, my DH went down first to help "catch" DD at the bottom. They both loved it! Just be aware that the entrance to the slide is actually outside the pool area, so if you are not going down before/after her, you will need to hustle back to the pool to see her come out.

I also have a gluten allergy (and hashimoto's thyroiditis) was diagnosed a while ago but have been 100% gluten free since last September. Lounge CM's and chef were great in pointing me towards gluten free options. They will bring you special gluten free cookies / brownies upon request, these were simply delicious. The chef also volunteered to prepare shrimp or chicken gluten free during evening offerings. I appreciated the offer, but was fine with things already provided. Only bummer is the homemade chips are not gluten free but I found many other options especially in the mornings.

HockeyMomR, thanks for the info. I'm really new to this gluten allergy so it's been a bit challenging for me. I didn't realize how many things I wouldn't be able to eat. I'm not 100% gluten free yet but working towards it as I learn more about it.

I did email the IPO and they sent me a wonderful email response back, so I'm feeling pretty good about it. Those chips are my favorite!! I had no idea they have gluten in them.

Hi! A few last minute questions :cool1::

1) How can I hunt down the June Activity calendar? Call the hotel maybe?

2) We'd like a quiet room with lots of sunlight, any ideas on the best '3 things' to have put on our room request?

3) Does anyone know if the BW Bakery is offering the lemon blueberry cupcake now? http://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2013/10/15/review-new-lemon-blueberry-cupcake-from-boardwalk-bakery/

4) Is there a s'more kit for the nightly fire? If so how much are they? I just heard they run $35 at the Chip & Dale event at FW.

Thank you! I would've never found that myself. :)

Our Mistress of the Thread, Dee, takes very good care of us and will post the monthly schedule when she receives it. There's a lot of great info in the first page of the thread and hyperlinks to previous months schedules as well...

There was a bounceback offer in the information booklet inside a folder in our room on the desk or bedside table. It looks like an advertising brochure, but it had a foldout page inside with the bouncback offer code.
Yeah, that's what I looked for. From what I've read on this thread over the years it can be hit or miss if one is left in your room after the last person staying there has taken it. Best bet is to call reservations and ask to speak to the BB person.

When I was last at BC, I believe that offer was 35% on most Deluxe resorts and 30% on moderates, and 25% on Value resorts. If there is no information in your room, you can ask at front desk or concierge desk. I did this and was given the current offer info, which shows a calendar of dates when the offer is available. A previously mentioned, you need to call in from the resort, before you check out. The last time I called, they asked for my confirmation number of the current stay, to verify my eligibility. The offer usually changes in August.
Fortunately, last December, I had until 7:00pm on the day of departure to book the BB. We checked out at 9:00am, did the magical depress at 10:00 and were sitting in the airport at noon when I called. I got all the details and finalized the deal when we got home around 6:00pm after we discussed things on the plane-ride home. They were very nice and helpful at the BB desk when I called from the airport and again when I called from home.

I know there is no way of knowing for sure but I'm wondering....Do you think the Yacht Club room renovations will be completed by November 2016?
Well, I would think one year should be good seeing the progress they are making on the BC after starting last August(?). They start the YC when the BC is completed. But then again, one really can't say for certain can they? Too many unkown variables to consider when you are doing remodeling.

They usually sell s'mores kits at the Marketplace. It should cost about ten dollars.

I think it would certainly be done. BC is 3/5 done now and it's been just a few months. Beach is slated for completion by the end of August. I truly would not worry about it.

Well you can add us to the guest list thing, we will be there, August 28 to sept 8, BC cl.

A few questions
1) my sister and I came up with the mo ey to put mom and dad club level ( very funny trying to tell them what we are celebrating, three weddings, three divorces, three separations, a five year anniversery, a ten year anniversary and a 15 year anniversary, a honeymoon, and three birthdays, as well as neither has Cancer anymore. Anyway, any ideas of how to lock my mom out of her mde, she is the main holder and we don't want her to find out we upped her to cl and paid for it already. CM said he may be able to hold it off a day or two put it will eventually show up with the new price, since she is blind she does not always read the price until she finishes paying herself in July.

2) this is what I found out about rooms, no rooms face east so no room can say it has a lot of sunlight in the morning. Any suggestions on what rooms have the most sun light or another way to put it the most natural sun light so my blind mother can see shapes and shadows, she is the first up each morning usually at 4 am, waking everyone as she trips over the beds and desks, and doors and such, sunlight is her friend.

That's actually part of my job. To get to my favorite buffet for breakfast and dinner (Trail's End) from the Beach Club, you would take the bus to Magic Kingdom and then get on the boat to Ft. Wilderness. The boat docks right close to where Trail's End Is located.

To get to Ohana's from the Beach Club, take the bus to Magic Kingdom and then get on the Resort Monorail (not to be confused with the Express Monorail) or the boat to the Polynesian. I prefer the boat.

Teena, we are staying at BC in September and we have dinner at Mickey's Back Yard BBQ on the Saturday night of our trip. We will have a rental car. Would we still go to MK first? Or just drive to Fort Wilderness? How long should it take to get there? I read that we should get in line for dinner an hour before dinner is to start, is that true?

Thank you very much for your help. I hope I get to meet you when we are there. 95 Days!

You could drive to Ft. Wilderness but you can't park near Mickey's Back Yard BBQ. You'd have to park in the regular Ft. Wilderness parking lot and then take the bus that runs around inside Ft. Wilderness. Personally I'd go to MK and then take the boat. Do you plan on being at MK during the day and then going over to Ft. Wilderness? That's what I would probably plan on doing. Spend the day at MK and then an hour before you are suppose to be at Ft. Wilderness, I'd go to the boat dock. It's a good 20 minute boat ride once you get on the boat.

I honestly don't have any experience with the line for the BBQ. Seems like an hour to be in line is awfully long. Hopefully someone here has been to the BBQ in the past year or so and will give us their views on the hour in line. We don't do the BBQ because we love Hoop Dee Doo and of course our favorite: Trail's End. And we do the campfire with Chip & Dale and watch the movie. I hope you'll tell me all about how you like the BBQ ... maybe it's something Lily would like to try!!! We're taking her to Hoop for the first time in July.

We are doing Hoop Dee Doo also. I could not chose between the two. LOL, That day we are doing Animal Kingdom in the morning. Its the Night of Joy even so I thought we would say away from MK that day.
