Does anyone know if IPO is still around and able to help with dinning reservations?

I received an email from them earlier in the year (spring time-ish) telling me they were there to help, and provided a big document to fill out with our requests. I never used it, as I am able to make my own reservations and plans. Last minute though (this past weekend), I thought I'd ask for their help booking some difficult dining spots, and when I replied to their email to ask for their help, I got this response:

"Thank you for contacting us at Walt Disney World Resort. Our Concierge team is currently assisting other guests. However, our reservation cast member are available to assist you with your planning needs. If you are looking to book a dining reservation, please contact 407-WDW-DINE from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. Eastern Time or visit My Disney Experince. For other types of requests please contact 407-WDISNEY. A cast member will be happy to assist you. We look forward to seeing you once you arrive at the resort."

IPO is now a thing of the past. From what I understand cast members are being trained in a central location to deal with all Club level guests. This should come online sometime after the first of the year. Who knows how it will work. I never really used the service except for one trip.

When you are at the Resort, yes. Prior to your arrival you are on your own.

Thanks everyone, for your input on this. I need to brush up the Club Level Post on Page 1. We had the normal IPO service for our October trip (dining reservation help in April and assistance with a reservation while we were onsite). How disappointing to hear that pre-trip planning help is not currently a part of club level service.

:(

I stayed Club Level at Yacht Club in both July and September of this year. I received the usual email from the IPO for both trips.

Thanks for your input and

Well add me back onto the BOG list. My DH will be joining us for part of the trip so I didn't really want to squish us all in at POR. So we'll be doing a split stay at BC 6/25-29th and then onto POR 6/29-7/3.

Will do!

It just so happens that I have a little bit of juice left in my virtual reservation restorer.

:thumbsup2

I only used IPO when I couldn't get a certain reservation (O'hana), they were able to get the reservation for me. I was on a cruise and didn't have access to a phone on my 180 day, IPO made all my reservations for me.

So, what I'm understanding IPO will be there when I arrive to help me get a reservation. I guess they are forcing people to make our own reservations.

Sad, that little personal touch is gone.

The general information I'm seeing on the CL Thread is that there will be some sort of consolidated CL IPO (don't know if they will still call it that) in Jan. How it will work and what they will do we'll have to see. I'm hoping that folks that hear from them after the new year will post.

Thanks for the CL comparison! How do you compare the two resorts? I'm really hoping we can do a split stay between those two, but we will already have a few days with family at the beach and now DS wants to go to universal for 2 day so I don't think I could do 4 rooms in 15 days.

Well, it's hard for anything to match the Grand in my mind - especially if we are talking about staying in the main building. The ability to sit up top, have a drink, listen to the band, and watch the lobby is really something. The Sugarloaf would be a lot closer as both lounges have a similar setup (no view). While no lobby is quite like the GF, the BC has a very nice lobby with light decor, a good store, and plenty of space to walk between there and the YC. We had a really nice view from our Garden View room where we saw some of the lake and the high illumination fireworks. Staff is great at both. Megan was awesome at the BC. Stormalong Bay is the best pool on property if you spend much time in the water. So while I think the Royal Palm (main building) is unmatched, and it's certainly priced that way, it will otherwise be whether you prefer the Epcot vs Magic Kingdom area.

Hey, everyone, remember that Be Our Guest list?

I finally updated it! When you get a chance, take a peek and let me know if I need to make any adjustments.

I knew I should have posted our new trip dates yesterday. ;) We booked a bounce back for a BC - GV room, May 19-24, 2017 for our anniversary. :) There wasn't any information about a bounce back offer in our room at the GF. You would have to know the bounce back extension number, which is 8844, or the phone number, in order to book a BB before checking out. I don't know if Disney plans to publish the dates or just leave it a great big secret. :confused3

That's too bad it wasn't in your room. Our BC room and current Poly room have the offer booklet. Unfortunately they blocked out all of Oct-Nov when we wanted to come back. Will likely book last wk Sept or early Dec again as a backup.

Both rooms I was in at Pop Century had clock radios. The first room I was assigned reeked of cigar smoke as soon as I walked in :sad2: It did have a clock radio. They immediately moved me to another room with the same room requests after I called.
My room here at the Yacht Club did not have a clock radio so I asked one of the Mousekeepers for one and a CM brought one up a little later :yay:
Kaitlyn told me they removed the clock radios a year ago and that they have been getting many requests for them :rolleyes1 My phone is not letting me post pictures so I will do that when I get home :)
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the Yacht Club and Epcot resort area
