Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

With that said... there are 3 of us, is there any chance we would get a king? Do I have to request 2 queens? I'd rather not sleep with our 9 year old in the middle of my DH and myself lol
There is no chance that you would get a king room when you have three people unless someone makes a very big mistake. There aren't very many king rooms, anyway. You will get two queen beds. :)

Secondly, if we do online checkin for club level.. will we still be escorted to the desk at the club level and get our awesome welcome drink? :)
You will receive the regular club level routine, whatever it may be, when you arrive, whether you do online check in or not. Online check in just streamlines the check in process and lets them know what time you are arriving.

What are the room request choices for a standard room on online check in ? I know I have seen this somewhere but I cant seem to find it.

I know @Wood Nymph posted the choices, but wanted to point out that the options are the same no matter what type of room you booked. That's one of the reasons why I prefer to call in my room requests, depending on what you booked most of the options are not applicable.

Hi there... getting close to our online check in date and am contemplating adding a request but most likely we won't need to because a balcony is our primary goal and we are staying at YC. Thanks and Happy Easter to everyone!!

I agree with Wood Nymph, there is no chance you will get a King bed. The occupancy of King rooms is 2 plus one under 3. So you do not meet that criteria with a 9 yo.
It has been reported recently, that due to the recent staff reductions, they are no longer greeting guests at the front of the resort. CL guests have reported having to stand in line. It has nothing to do with on line checkin at all.

We are a family of 3 and received a king room with a sleeper sofa, but we requested the King room. We really enjoyed have ing the extra room when the sleeper sofa was put away.

Thank you all! Sorry don't know how to multiquote all of you :)
We'll actually be in Orlando a few days prior and we will be driving to the YC first thing in the am. We hope to check in early and hit rope drop in Epcot (not expecting room to be ready). We did this a few years back and it was nice to have a quick breakfast at the Lounge before heading to the park.

I have only been on this thread for a month or so, but y'all are my happy place here on the DIS!:cloud9: I love all the advice on the DIS and I've learned so much, but sometimes that comes with a healthy dose of negativity. So, I pop over here for a counteracting dose of pixie dust :wizard: and to reignite my excitement about my upcoming trip! :hyper: So, thanks!

Thanks for the kind words!

As you have discovered, we try very hard to be positive and welcoming here. We believe that you can be helpful and informative, and still have fun, all at the same time.

I would like a ground floor but should I check that box for a standard room or should I pick lower floor? I think most standard room are not on the first floor.

Well I'm only a couple of weeks out from my trip to YC. I'm going with my parents and it's their first ever stay at a Disney resort, so I'm a little nervous about them liking it. I think they will given the refurbishments and the location. One question (I ask only because it's been a couple of years since I was there) - does the shop in YC sell boxes of cereal and cartons of milk? I seem to remember that it does but I can't swear to it.

:welcome: back!

I don't have you on the Be Our Guest list.

April?

Thank you!!!

Added the picture to the BC View Thread.

Photos of the view from BCV studio room 416 (it looked out over the BCV quiet pool):

Dee, if you're looking for any other specific photos of BCV, let me know and I'll see what I've got.

(Can't help you with photos of the grills - I've never even seen them.)

Thank you so much for all of these pictures and the offer.

I have added the pool table to front page and your room pix to the View Thread.

Apologies if this has been addressed before- My husband, son and I will be staying at Yacht Club next month. My in-laws will be staying at the Swan. Is there any way for my in-laws to take my son to Stormalong Bay while my husband and I visit the parks? I'm not looking to break any rules! I've got a water-slide obsessed 5-year old and an opportunity for some time alone in the parks with my husband while his grandparents can watch him- if we can figure out if this is allowed...

:welcome: to the thread and posting on the DIS.

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list we keep on Page 1.

Lots of great suggestions posted for you.

:)

Where would be the best place to just lay around the main pool that was not what you would call the busy area. I understand about the quiet pools, but I would rather not go to those pools. Do you have any suggestions on what area to be able to lay back, relax, and maybe read a book.

:welcome:

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list we keep on Page 1.

June? Which resort?

There are a few quiet places around SAB. I wish I could describe where, but I am very directionally challenged. Going over bridges helps. As others have mentioned, there are spots that are tucked away.

:fish:

This was our best pool view room to date. Makes me want to go back in April but we are trying out gf for the first time

AWESOME picture and view!!! Do you remember which room this was?

:thumbsup2

I know about 50% of the rooms at BC have full balconies, but is that split the same no matter the room category? We have a standard view booked but a balcony is very important to us so we would consider upgrading if it would increase our chances.

I don't know if any room category necessarily has more balconies than the others.

Hi! Happy Easter Everyone! :flower1:
I tried the FAQ post on page 1- so sorry if I missed this- but where are the places to refill the mugs at the YC? We were BC but moved- so I had marked down we can refill at BC Marketplace and Hurricane Hannah's- Is there also a place at the YC? I think we will probably be getting coffee for breakfast, and my son would need something other than coffee- juice maybe? (But we need some quick coffee in the am...that's for sure!! :coffee:) Then the afternoons- we would probably just be filling up at Hurricane Hannah's. Thanks so much!

Happy Easter everyone. I don't think I have posted here yet but we are headed to the Beach CLub for our first time 8/14 - 8/19. We are so excited. Well I guess I should say I am extremely excited; the rest of the fam doesn't really know anything about all of the Disney resorts. All that I have told them that it is definitely an upgrade from where we have stayed in the past. I don't want to build it up too much because I myself don't know know what to expect.. This will ony be our third time at WDW. First time, stayed offsite and that was over 12 years ago. Then in 2013 only my and my son went and stayed at POP and had an absolute blast. Now this time since the whole fam is going which includes 3 adults; I knew we would either have to get 2 rooms at POP to spread out or look at another resort. I also never dreamed we could afford Beach Club. Then I got an incredible rate through magical vacations travel and hopped on board. Our package for 5 nights with 6 day park hoppers is $2700. I think that is a great rate. It is a standard view so I would like any advice on what to ask for as far as room location. Definitely would prefer a full balcony and close to lobby. Also do you have any tips and tricks you can give this newbie? Any must do activities? Thanks in advance..

I would check the box for ground floor and hope for the best.

You can get coffee and some breakfast items at the Ale and Compass just off the Yacht Club lobby. The bartender filled my refillable mug for me but I have heard other people say that they wouldn't do it for them.

Ask for exactly what you just said - close to lobby and full balcony. :)

After much internal debate - decided to not do any nights at the Poly and stay at BC all 11 nights!! Please change us to July 1 - 12 on the list. Super excited!!

I'll make the change next time I update the list.

:woohoo:

Does anyone know when the activities / recreation calendar for April will be posted?

April 2nd or 3rd.

As dansdad points out, I post it here, and on Page 1, Post 4, as soon as I am able to get it. The past few months I have forgotten to look until a few days after the first. I won't be offended with a reminder if you don't see it during the weekend.

:goodvibes

Thanks so much for the heads up. I updated the additional days in the places I have posts.

:thumbsup2

It's been a while but looking into sept/October 2016... I know BC rooms have been renovated since my last trip but what about rehab at YC .. Has is started and when is to be finished?

:welcome: back!

Hope you have had a chance to check out the post on Page 1. We are all waiting for official info on the YC renovations.

::yes::

I am very happy to be heading back to the BC from Aug. 14-21! Can't wait to enjoy SAB and I am also looking forward to trying the afternoon tea at the Solarium.

:welcome: back!!!

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list

:cool1:

After several YC stays, we are trying BC in July! My book club gathering (fondly nicknamed Trixie Camp) is in St. Augustine this year and, well, it was cheaper to fly in/out of MCO than Jacksonville... :rolleyes1

:welcome: to the "Bright" Side! (I'll be doing the opposite in October- YC after many BC stays)

I'll put you on the list.

:woohoo:

Just had an accidental DISmeet!!! :)
I'm here at the BC for dinner at Cape May and ran into @YCFAN

It was a fast meet because we were late to dinner (bus from MK broke down) but we took a quick selfie!! Ignore my wet gross hair from a downpour :umbrella:

Love, Love, Love this!!!

:banana::banana::banana:

We stayed in that exact room on our last stay at YC - we loved all the extra room in the entry way and tons of light from the Windows during the day!!

Not sure if you have posted here before... :welcome:
