Resort Thread Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB Resorts

I am not sure if anyone can answer this but we have the option to switch from the YC to the BCV for our trip in late March. Does anyone have an idea as to which would be quieter? I read the villas are more noisy but with construction going on at the YC, I am curious if it would actually be less noisy but I am not sure? I have never stayed at the Epcot area resorts (actually I have only stayed in the moderates and AKL) so I have nothing to base this on. Thank you!
I would not give up a regular room at the YC for a studio at the BCV. The studios are not as nice as the regular resort room. But if the offer is for a one-bedroom villa, then I would go for that. You won't hear construction noise at the BC villa. But you might not hear construction noise at the Yacht Club. It all depends on location of the room. :)

It would be for a one bedroom. Thank you for your help. I appreciate it. I was leaning towards having more space anyway.

That’s a great offer if it’s a one bedroom. I would take it as a studio, but I’ve never been in a yacht club room. The one bedroom will have a full kitchen and laundry and a real soaking tub. The beach club villas are also about half the walk to Epcot/Skyliner as the distance to the average room at yacht club and guaranteed to be far from the construction.

Having more space in a one bedroom is nice. I just wanted to point out that the sleeper sofa in the one bedroom is not as comfortable as the beds in the YC, so if you are going to be using the sofa as a sleeper, be aware. Enjoy your trip.

Thank you all for your help! I switched and we are in a 1 bedroom now at the BCV. I am super excited! I haven't been to WDW in 10 years, so much has changed. I really do appreciate all of your help with this!
And now I am rethinking my YC room for a 1 bedroom at BCV. Also found one available at Boardwalk Villas today . . . then gone just as quickly.

I’m excited for an upgraded room, and being close to 2 parks, and hope to see Epcot fireworks from the resort.

We had a water view room at YC a few years ago and were able to see the first full pyro test for Harmonious from our balcony. If you search my posts in this thread I think you can still see the pics I posted. We were on the side by the boat dock, facing the lake.

I hope you guys have a wonderful trip and prayers for you and DH.

Did you ever go to the quiet pools? My husband is a pool person and I was wondering if they are now like the pool scene from Caddy Shack? We're thinking of a 3 night stay before our stay at Riviera.
We went to one of the pools this morning from 10-11 (Tidal Pool) and were one of 3 families there. Total about 6 kids and a dozen or so adults. Not too crazy or loud. My 3 year old was probably the loudest there because she kept shouting about how much fun she was having.

For anyone arriving soon, maybe request a lower floor. We are in a 3rd floor room and there is a lot of noise during the day from the 4th floor work being done. DH and I don’t need naps, but I would request a move if I had little kids or if we needed afternoon naps. Housekeeping is terrific and we are enjoying ourselves. I’m at the quiet pool now and it’s pretty quiet. The main pool closure is more noticeable at night with the hot spa.

Interesting because we are 3rd floor as well and yesterday my LO napped from 2-3:30 and we had no trouble with noise. We are in the 3700s.

Is that in the Beach Club? I didn't think the YC rooms got up to the 3700s, and I believe the interior work being done is only in the Yacht Club.

Today’s activities posted! We are doing the campfire tonight!
Yes, with Stormalong Bay closed, the recreation staff is doing a greatly increased # of activities daily. The bummer for those of us who like to plan the day beforehand is that the activities and their times aren't posted the day beforehand (unless it changes).
