Why I think Wish wasn't the success Disney thought it would be was because people thought Wish would have the same success that Frozen had in 2013 and the song This Wish was the Let It Go of Wish but what I think mainly gave Wish a lot of promotion was merchandise and Mattel Wish toys were huge on Santa's Wish List for kids during the holidays but after Wish ended it's run in theaters Wish toys went straight on clearance even before Christmas and even today Wish toys are selling now for up to $7 on Amazon which tells me that Wish was another Strange World. If Disney would've put more effort into the development of Wish the film would've better in my eyes. And I bet they'll develop Wish II like Disney made Frozen II in the future

I think Wish was mainly meant to promote Disney's origin of the famous "wishing star" but I never saw any mention of the wishing star in the movie. And Disney should've named the movie something else other than Wish "like Asha Of Rosas" would've been a better title instead because I think with Wish Disney wanted to promote merchandise to sell during Christmas and when you release a movie around the holidays it means merchandise will sell for Christmas because that's why holiday released movies are strong winners. But had they promoted the movie a bit more Wish would've done even better in my book

The majority of animated movies that do well are released in the summer, because that’s when it’s easiest for families to go to the theatre, with majority of schools closed. The exceptions were the Frozen movies, which were much, much better than “Wish”… “Wish” failed because it was not a good movie ( in terms of both audience and critics reviews}

I think had they developed more of the storyline Disney would've made Wish successful but what I think the main problem was with Wish I think Disney copied too much of their films and they incorporated it into Wish. Like for example in one of the wishes a dressmaker can be seen making Princess Aurora's ballgown and it shocked me that this part was made. Also I think what made Wish a hit was Valentino and I think they made him talk for comic relief to the film and this was the film's best character. But if Disney makes a sequel called Wish II they should promote it correctly
