Resort Thread Disney's WILDERNESS LODGE

We stayed there the week the tree went up. I swear they changed the scent used in the lobby after the tree went up. My husband didn’t notice. Anyway, loved the smell after the tree went up and wish I could find something similar for home.

These construction updates are incredibly helpful as my wife and I plan to visit in early January. Would love to know if there are other sites that track this progress on a more regular basis. My gut tells me this page may be the most 'on top' of anything WL related but for those in the know, I'd love to know too.

There are several face book sites that are fan ran and post pics pretty much daily.

Just got back home last night. Here is a photo of the scaffolding on the Copper Creek side of the WL. All the windows in the lobby are coated with the film so you can't see out. And there was still a small boat running between the MK and the WL, no stop at FW. This was after the morning rush, we went over in the afternoon and came back after the first nightly parade. It was the small boat both times, I did see a larger boat running as well, like they always did.

Is the scaffolding up across the whole resort? I have a stay here in few weeks for a water view room. I’m wondering if it’s possible to call and request a room without the construction, unless this is resort wide.

It was reported on FB scaffolding is going back up on the CCV side.

That is just the the next section on the CCV side of the courtyard heading toward Bay lake. I hope no one got excited that they were done.

I asked this question a couple months ago but now we’re only two weeks from check in so wanted to check back in. I see the scaffolding pics but I’m so unfamiliar with this resort that I can’t orient myself. If I have a resort view category room booked, what request should I make if I don’t want a construction view (even better if anyone has thoughts on a request that might get me a bit of a view of any hint of fireworks!)

The latest work is on the CCV side of the WL building in the Courtyard

I don’t want a construction view (even better if anyone has thoughts on a request that might get me a bit of a view of any hint of fireworks!)
An even numbered room will put you on the outside, and possibly a MK / Contemporary Fireworks view sort of without paying for a Fireworks view room.

This all assumes that you are on staying on the regular resort side on the north side and not a DVC unit on the south side CCV.

Yes, thank you! I saw people talking about CCV and just now realizing that means Copper Creek Villa. So yes, we’re not staying in a DVC room - just the regular WL and now understanding it sounds like construction is on the DVC area now? So will go ahead with an even numbered room request! Thank you!

The resort view rooms face toward the Contemporary. Many of them will have a partial fireworks view, especially the rooms on the higher floors. Some of them will be above Whispering Canyon Cafe and will overlook the lobby. There can be a lot of noise from the restaurant, especially in December when there are lots of Christmas parties.

Ah thank you! Low noise would actually be my top priority so sounds like maybe my request should be a high floor.

It just smells like Disney.....No specific fragrance....It's amazing.

Is the construction really impacting anything at the resort other than seeing scaffolding? I'm considering a resort switch, and we've enjoyed visiting in the past but haven't stayed.

When are you planning your stay?

It is mostly the Scaffolding that goes up in sections. Right now it is on the Copper Creek (South) side of the Courtyard.

The dock will be closed and boat transportation temporarily suspended from Jan. 12–30, 2026. Bus service will still be available.

The end of April. So we would have the boat at least.

Well I have officially book my first stay in March, was hoping for a slightly better rate but oh well. Now im debating do i extend my stay 1 night. Tempted to do the 5 nights, think being up there on CL would be worth it.

You do know that March is a very popular, and busy month. Multiple Spring break weeks, and Palm Sunday is March 29 since Easter is early in 2026 on April 5th.

Now im debating do i extend my stay 1 night. Tempted to do the 5 nights, think being up there on CL would be worth it.
The CL decision is quite easy, will you be around to take advantage of the day's offerings or not?

The day begins with coffee hour from 6:30 a.m. to 7 a.m., followed by continental breakfast from 7 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., light snacks from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., tea and drinks from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., hors d’oeuvres from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., and desserts & cordials from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m.
