Has anyone ever driven from Wilderness Lodge to MCO on a runDisney race morning? I'm supposed to fly out marathon sunday at 10:45. I'm thinking this may be a huge hassle and am considering changing to a later flight, but wanted to see if someone has done it before and if I'm panicking for no reason.

Has anyone ever driven from Wilderness Lodge to MCO on a runDisney race morning? I'm supposed to fly out marathon sunday at 10:45. This was in 2005 or 2006, but we checked out of WL on Marathon Sunday. The DME bus was a little late but not late enough to be a problem making our flight. If I were driving myself, I'd leave an hour early, but I don't mind sitting in the airport for extra time!

You do need to plan to take a left onto World Drive when leaving WL (hopefully it won't be closed off), head south, and then exit onto Vista Blvd., pass Ft. Wilderness, and finally turn right onto Bonnet Creek Parkway and then follow signs to Hwy. 536 and the airport. If you pull up any good online map, you should be able to see the route I'm suggesting.

Agree on the left on World Drive, left on Vista route.

Note on that map you can toggle different races on and off, it’s a little confusing with all of them checked.

Holiday activities for anyone curious Santa was meeting people in front of the tree on Christmas Eve until 8pm, as he had a very busy evening coming up.

Also treated myself to one of these milk and cookie mugs.

Our flights home are not until 9pm - and I’m running the Princess half marathon that morning. We plan to get brunch at O’hana and then head to MK, but wondering if we can access the WL pool in the afternoon after checking out? Or if WL has a locker room or other space on-site that we can use if we want to change, etc before we head to the airport?

You will have access to the WL facilities, including the pools, on your check out day. There is a wonderful shower room in each of the bathrooms at the quiet pool.

We were just at Disney and on our last day my husband left his beloved Wilderness Lodge hat on Thunder Mountain. He filled out a lost and found form but just this week they got back to him saying they had too many lost and found requests and wouldn't be responding to his

I'm not even sure if they still make them but this is the hat and I believe it's in the WL gift shop. We don't plan on going back to the parks for another year but if someone would be willing to pick one up and have it shipped to us I'd happily Venmo the cost and we'd tell the story about your kindness for the rest of our lives!

I got excited at first, but then I thought about it. 'any reservations made from now on' - New reservations are likely to be 6 or so months out from now. They'll be done with the renovations then. So yes, any new reservations will be in the new rooms. But so would any 'old' reservations that are for that time.

What she didn't say is 'any new check-ins from now on would be in renovated rooms'. I check in on Friday, so though I've asked for a renovated room, trying to not get my hopes up.

hope you got a new room! Sigh... Of course we would really like to have a renovated room end of January for our first trip "home" as actual owners at Boulder Ridge ( have owned BCV for years) BUT still grateful we were able to GET reservations at all , so if we don't get that little bit of pixie dust this trip, we have another one booked for December 2023 when ALL rooms should be done by then!
