Resort Thread Disney's WILDERNESS LODGE

I have had some before. My ds at 27 still loves rocks lol. Hence therefore he loved it.

Some of the patios 1st floor are pretty open. It just depends on your preference. Me I am good with any .

Came back to add, they are unique but not a deal breaker IMO.

Thank you. If I want to request one, what should I ask for? A room on the first floor? A room with a rock patio? Thank you!

2nd floor is lobby level. 1st floor has the more rock patios if that interests you. 7th floor is club level so can’t really request that unless CCV. Do you have a preference?

I always do OCI. If you get notified prior to arrival you can see where you were assigned and if you don’t like it ask for a change when you arrive.
I don’t even know if I should request. I didn’t want upgrade but just to request a particular floor or whatever. Thanks for the info. I may do the check in and see where we are. We arrive late.

We are booked to go stay at Boulder Ridge again Jan 1-7. I was just curious, when do they take the WL Christmas tree down? I recognize it may vary year to year, but a ballpark estimate would be fine ☺️
They'll start to undecorate around the 3rd, with everything gone in 2-3 days.

There are 1st floor 'rock patios' on both sides of the CC wing. The patios on the courtyard side don't allow access outside the patio, there's bushes, plants, no grass or walkway.

The 'rock patios' on the Boulder Ridge side have access to a little grass then the wide walkway with the bus stop on one end and Geyser Point on the other.

I was never a fan of the Reflections DVC going into this area. I haven't recovered from the
destruction of the walking path to Fort Wilderness. Where's the Wilderness in Wilderness Lodge and Fort Wilderness? It loses something with yet another resort stuck in there.
Of course, I'm one of the few that thinks that the Poly DVC tower is going to be a
huge eyesore plunked in between two beautiful resorts.

I totally agree!!!!!

I really miss the walking path. too. It was one of the things we looked forward to when staying at WL. But I do think that the Reflections DVC will be a great place to stay. It will have gorgeous views. And maybe they will bring back the path once the DVC resort is finished. :)

I agree with you

The permit mentions 19 different addresses, probably more cabins. It is not located near the Reflections site but more towards VWL.

Although the original Reflections permits have +/- 17 separate structures in addition to the main building. I forget how they billed them - cabins, bungalows, huts, or what - but the idea was the main building and individual cabin-type structures along the water.

My guess with all this - subject to correction from people who follow these things closer than me - Reflections gets going sometime in 2025, modifications to Timberline Drive and Wilderness Rd as access for both WL and Reflections

This is interesting, I'm planning a trip to WL late 2025. Hope we won't be impacted by construction. Please keep us posted!

Was about to book WL (cash, water view) for labor day weekend, and noticed the prompt for "exterior work" which started yesterday. What are we talking here.... construction equipment outside the rooms? Anything major along those lines?

This will be a resort stay, mostly just using the pool and relaxing in the room.

If you scroll back a couple of pages, people have been posting pics of the current work outside BRV. Just large cranes at this time. However, I posted the other day about future work to be done HERE. Another post by @GADisneyDad14 suggests an expansion HERE. Hope that helps.

Do you think any of the work that those permits cover will start before the end of the year? I don’t mind a few cranes and painting while I’m there in November, but I wouldn’t want trucks going through and excavators and such.
