Hello all,

I was told by a friend recently that the haunted Halloween Carriage Rides that took place at Wilderness Lodge during the month of October that was discontinued back in 2011-2012 might be returning for the 2017 season. I asked him where he obtained the information and haven't been able to find it. I was hoping someone knew more about this. Thanks

Question regarding this, do you think this would be too high for a height challenged kid to see out from? The views from 6024 look real nice but I'd rather just take the chance on requesting one floor down if it's gonna be a hassle of standing on chairs or lifting and holding a 60 pounder for several minutes.

I wish I could help, I'm not sure. I can't remember what we did the year we stayed CL with DGD (5th birthday trip for her)

Could they be confusing the new Headless Horseman experience that will be at FW?

My apologies if I am posting in the right place....we are booked Dec 1-7 and much of that time period has been sold out for a while (the 2 weeks surrounding then)..so no free dining and I am assuming no RO when it comes out. I didn't realize that Copper Creek and Boulder (eeck I don't even know what it's called) were allowing cash ressies as we are not DVC...just realized today that they are bookable to non DVC.. Is copper springs excluded from FD? If so, I assume it will be as well from the RO. Thanks! I looked and couldn't find the thread for them.

Thanks for your input and map/view reference! It was your November post that inspired me to first take the WL plunge back in February! (I must've skipped right over the part abt the deluxe room and gone straight to the food pics.)

From the sound of it, these rooms remind me of that time I payed for a preferred room at ASMu and got stuck at the far end of Jazz -__-

Will request a X000 room then, considering 3rd floor after seeing your pics. Again, the walk time does seem like a nuisance, but it's always fun to roam and wander a resort like the WL. Do you happen to have any other room-specific pics?

edit: Does the room being off the main CL floor affect turndown service? I keep getting this feeling like, "How will the pillow chocolate faeries find me??"

That's a good question about turndown service. I don't 'think' we got it in the Deluxe Room but I'm not 100% sure about that. Not sure if I was supposed to? They may have come, but I don't remember?

Actually, there is usually way more rooms available for a RO discount than there are for a FD discount. I would never assume that because there are no FD rooms that there would be no RO rooms.

But yes, you can almost always book DVC cash. I never plan far enough out to rent points and we've had no problems finding DVC rooms cash. There are only a couple locations that are never included in discounts, most are

I don't know if this will have any effect on what discounts are released or availability but I was able to book a CCVC cash room with a discount through DVC a few weeks ago. I added on a few nights there before we move to Kidani in Dec.

Yes it's weird... hadn't even looked at this as an option until I saw an ad on Facebook from Disney saying that it was open (again because for some reason I assumed it was not open to cash reservations yet)...

We are staying regardless, the only change we would make would be to GF... we considered POR but I really don't want to do that unless it's a second trip in a year ... been waiting for years to go back due to my husband's health issues .

Those pics were as of late November 2016 and were of a Deluxe Room with CL access. The Deluxe Rooms are "CL access" because they aren't on the CL floor (7th floor) but you otherwise have full access to the lounge and all CL ameninities/benefits.

Just about everything about WL is new now, fewer rooms, new DVC, etc. It's going to be hard to guess for sure what will happen. Mainly my point was what is offered for FD really does not equate to what is offered for RO. They are rarely the same.

FYI - All the CLs do currently offer turndown service. Last year at AKL CL they stopped doing it for a bit and tinkered with it being request only but it's now back as a normal amenity. You happened to go during that unlucky time I guess!

The only exception is situations where some resorts have "Deluxe Rooms" or other room types that have CL access but aren't on the CL floor, like the WL Deluxe Rooms. I didn't think we had turndown service in that room back in November but I'm not 100% certain about that - my memory is fuzzy! I do seem to remember that Native American Proverb card so maybe we did! You'll have to forgive my memory, that WL CL lounge has a nice beer selection...

Can anyone speak to the comfort of the pull out sofa in the deluxe room? These rooms sleep 6, correct? I've always wanted to stay in one of these - I just love the extra space! If they were closer to the lounge, I would do it in a heartbeat .....but if these rooms were closer to the lounge, they would be another $100 a night

Can someone please help? Will the refurb on the lodge and villas be complete by the first week of October? What about Roaring Forks? I'm trying to decide if we should stay here on our next trip, and I can't find exactly when it will be complete? Thanks so much for any help.

If you can wait two weeks I can answer all the questions on deluxe room. We leave Friday, but our stay at the deluxe room is Mat 19 to 21, I can then answer the sofa question, and the turn down question.
