That was me , glad to help! I booked a 2nd trip and am missing you both trips by just a few days!

1/13-20, 3/22-26
Aww, too bad we couldn't meet up! I went ahead a few minutes ago and upgraded that view in January to CY since I'm thinking that my hubby may actually make the trip too (I already have a two day hopper that he can use) and I know that he likes the Courtyard view. Only cost $21 more with the AP rate than my standard view with the general public too.

Hi guys. We have a deluxe CL room reserved for next month and I am trying to figure out what room to request. Can anyone tell me exactly which rooms are closed? I see the South Wing rooms. Is 6123 considered Courtyard or South Wing? It's right on that inner corner. Thanks in advance!

EDIT : LOL Nevermind. Apparently this is hotly contested in this thread!

I don't have an answer for you, but Go PSU!

I don't think those courtyards are open as the elevator bank is still shut.....but I might be mistaken....anyhow from looking at my old map on the sixth floor the deluxe are 6000/6001 and 6002/6003....

Interesting. Touring Plans is showing 6123 as Deluxe and it's listed on the first page of this thread as deluxe as well. I'm so confused!

:tinker:No I agree I think it usually IS a deluxe but doubt its accessible yet.....I need to write back to the lodge later, they told me a King might open up on that side if things were finished.....no word yet. Would guess by your 2017 trip it is open.....but not likely for next month.....bet you could write the lodge email and ask which rooms are deluxe on the floors you desire? I like to ask for a specific room too.

We're actually staying next month. Decided to add a couple days onto our trip in November. So that's why I am thinking about it now :)

6123 sits right below the Presidential Suite in the South Wing. The South Wing is closed and will convert to DVC so this isn't a request you'll want to make. The DELUXE ROOM chapter of this thread shows the Deluxe rooms in the North Wing, which is the only wing that is open.

Thank you. I wasn't certain if that room counted as South Wing since it's on a corner facing the courtyard. I actually did read through the DElUXE ROOM chapter. We just aren't as familiar with this resort - we usually stay on the monorail line and haven't stayed here in a few years.

What is OFC like currently? Is there a place to sit and eat nearby or just a couple tables that must support 60+ rooms full of guests? Have the food selections gone down significantly?

We are just home after 14 nights and if you are looking for the ultimate room request, take note, rooms 6006 up to 6034 all face the magic kingdom...Our room 6006 had spectacular views of the fireworks and having coffee in our balcony at 07.45 am on mornings that we wernt in a rope drop, we could hear Smokey the train driver arriving and opening the park...I filmed the Halloween wishes display which was awesome...

Re deluxe rooms: we've had a discussion in the CL thread and I think I'm pretty clear, but just want to confirm over here being that you're the expert! ;)
There are no mid-wing rooms in the north available now, right? So the only deluxe CL rooms available right now are the north end wing rooms, 2 on each floor 1-6 (none on 7). Do I have it right?

@Regan117 you'll have to post back after your trip and let us know how you liked the deluxe room! Curious about how you feel about the convenience of the room to the lounge. I know opinions vary. We have a deluxe CL room booked for April.

You're welcome:)

Both wings have rooms facing the inner courtyard, but only the North Wing is open and it also has rooms that face toward the MK/CR. Due to the removal of so many trees in order to build the DVC cabins, upper rooms now have a TPV and these rooms will eventually be re-classified. However, with a CL booking, views are by-request and not bookable - at least for now...

Thank you for posting about your stay. Your "TPV" sounds perfect!

I haven't taken a look at the CL thread in quite a while so I'm glad you posted here. 15 of the 25 Deluxe rooms were located in the now-closed South Wing. 10 should remain bookable in the North Wing. However, they are located at the end of the North Wing, closest to the boat launch. They have obstructed views, unless something has recently been removed.

I would say that the Deluxe rooms are now more inconvenient than they used to be and the views aren't very good. When we were in a Deluxe room in the South Wing, we had a beautiful Bay Lake/courtyard view and we were able to take the stairs, which is now restricted, and/or two other South Wing elevator banks that are no longer available.
