What floor are you on? Which room? I was thinking of asking for a higher floor in case it would help get a theme park view.

We are on the 4th floor above the old Otter Pond. Our room is right next to the elevator which has been awesome. We hear little if any noise from the room.

The elevators have been just fine too. At most we have had to wait a minute or so.

We were on the 5th floor last month. Never had an issue with the elevators at all.

Thanks! I was debating what to request and had decided to ask for near elevators as it looked like that would get us pretty centrally located. Guess I can do my online check in as of today so maybe I will!

FYI: the Fireworks View room category is no longer listed on the dates I previously saw it. Its back to the usual WL options.

I'm interested in getting a caricature done next week- do they still offer them? Also how did they come out nice and do they charge per person (in the same caricature)?

They do still offer them. We were very pleased with the one we had done of DD at CR.

HERE is an older article on the resort caricature artists. And, this is an older photo I took at WL so the prices have gone up (I'm pretty sure). Prices are per person:

We checked in earlier today and have a perfect view of the castle...granted there is construction below. The lodge is definitely less crowded which is a nice perk!

Stroller question:

I had always understood that when boarding the boats to MK from WL we could simply stroll on with our DD in her stroller, but recently someone posted that we now have to fold up the strollers on the boat!! The poster said Monorails were still a stroll on but boats and buses were now fold up.

True or false?

They use two types of boats, which alternate throughout the day. When the boat is the small schooner then you have to fold the stroller. When the boat is the large motor launch then you can roll the strollers on.

Thank you for posting! How in the world can a view of VWL also be a Wishes/Fireworks view?

I was wondering this too! We could see Wishes from our Woods View room, but that's the opposite end of the building from where the villas are. I know they're gone now, but curious what is coming.

Want to add in that I have appreciated and loved all of the info here, we leave tomorrow and I couldn't be more excited to go and experience WL for the first time! We arrive at about noon, so am hopeful we may be able to get early check-in, but have bathing suits and shorts easily accessible if that is not the case. In either event, so excited and will post when we get back!!

I saw Leah Z's 4/14 article on the DIS HERE about the apparent computer glitch that revealed the possible dates on a Disney TA website. But, her post didn't include the possible booking date of 4/25 which I thought would be helpful information. I wasn't implying that the source I quoted was the first on the internet to reveal this rumor.

Just arrived! Not a lot of visible construction, at least not what I expected this far. Then again, I'm a contractor so I guess I'm a little desensitized to it.

Had this waiting for us in the room though as a pleasant surprise.
