Received a call from WL IPO today. They left me a message about how the lounge had moved, but did not say if it was in the hallway still or moved to a suite. I guess I find out soon. Anyone there now and know if it is out of the hallway? Thanks!

Somebody posted some pictures of the lounge and it has moved to the VP suite.

I hope you have a great time. :)

Any thoughts on renting a VWL studio or booking a standard room for our stay in late Feb 2017? I am not concerned with construction views really, but we will be coming back in the afternoon to nap the little ones....i realize there is no guarantee of what will happen, we would really like to be near MK but not wanting to pay monorail resort prices.

Here now, Love the wilderness Lodge haven't heard any construction . We also got a set of pins for free they were left in the room here's my view View attachment 162636

I ran into a couple CMs that commented on how I had the "Excuse Our Pixie Dust Collection", and how they want those so bad. (neither had pin lanyards on, so I assume it was genuine). If you have to be in a resort under refurb to get those, that's pretty cool, but I wondered if they were up for purchase.

That is a gorgeous view. It looks like you are having a nice day. :)

Have you taken the boat to/from Magic Kingdom? Can you see any construction on either side of the fences? It looks the they have framed out a building on the beach, just past the Trout Bar.

Hi all we got here on Friday and are having a blast. The lodge feels nearly empty, adding to the seclusion feel. We booked a standard view and in addition to the lovely smokehouse view we can see the castle thanks to all the tree removal. Construction is nearly void on this end but I did see some activity today. Are more bungalows going in down here too?

Things are much different on the other side but the construction is isolated and hardly noticeable beyond the fencing. Though you can see some of the bungalow construction from the boats, especially the ones headed to Ft Wilderness. Here are some pics through the fencing by the pool bar (caution a margarita may have been consumed while taking these) as well as one taken between the villas and main building.

All the scaffolding is off the other building though I did notice some balcony construction on the villas side of the main building. The rooms are also completely gutted.

We love the lodge and I'm sure the construction will ebb and flow over the comings months but for us we wouldn't hesitate to stay.

Weird question, but does anyone know if there is a cupcake schedule for Wilderness Lodge? I went there today, and was so disappointed they didn't have the S'mores cupcake :(! I was under the impression they had them all the time. Are they just not making them anymore? I'm going to be here in January and I'm hoping they will be around then! Thanks!

Thanks for posting those great pictures. :thumbsup2 I peeked through the fence near the Trout Bar to get construction pictures. I also got caught by three construction guys who just laughed at my attempt to spy on them. :)

Yes, they are going to put cabins on that side of the lodge, too.

Those balconies that have the steel across them are the ones that they use when moving construction materials in and out of each floor. We saw them use a lift truck to take steel studs and other materials out of the fifth floor room when we were there in February.

When I went to MK today to prioritize my tixs, I did take the boat and through the sparse lining of trees, I saw a huge clearing of land. I'm guessing people staying standard is looking right into it and the construction zone it is.

The view that Kastoney showed in her pictures of the smokehouse is what has always been classified as standard view. The rooms that overlook the lobby and the rooms that overlook Otter Pond have always been classified as woods view rooms. I don't know what they call them now since the woods are gone.

Just was by the the lodge today. Something tells me with all those trees removed from that side that they might start charging those rooms a theme park view. Don't know if you can see the mk but definitely see the fireworks better

Time to pack, we have less than 3 months before we head to the wilderness.

Very important question... Does the Wilderness Lodge still have the carmel nut rolls.

A couple weeks ago, for a brief couple hours, there was a bookable category for the WL on the WDW website for "Fireworks View" rooms. Then it went poof. So, yes I think you're right.

Thank you so much for taking time out of your trip to take these photos and post them!
