I'm heartbroken :sad::sad:
Put my brand new WL insulated coffee to go cup in the dishwasher by mistake and ruined it.
Too far to travel back from Scotland for a new one.

Here to mend a broken heart!!!!

Download the Disney Shop Parks app. You should be able to find the mug there. If you don't have a smart phone, there is a direct number to call to find park/resort merchandise. You can also call WL directly (number on page 1 of this awesome thred, brought to you by Kook ;) ) and ask for the Merchantile. Not positive they will ship oversees but I bet they will for a price.
:dancer:

Thank you. I'll try calling as we can't get the app in the uk.

I am looking to make the trip in Nov 2016. Hopefully the construction won't be too much of a bother when we are there.

Running this year? I'm run the full on Sunday, any advice on how early I need to leave WL or any other tips?

Sorry for the Hijack of the thread.
Are you asking what time you need to leave the WL in order to run the marathon on Sunday? If that is your question then the race provides resort bus service for the runners. The buses usually arrive at the resort around 3:30am - but you would need to find out the exact schedule for that.

I'm not running, but I'll be happy to cheer on the runners. ;) We enjoy seeing the finishers proudly wear their medals in the parks after their races. :)

Hi everyone!!! Well, it is finally done! Yesterday my daughter was here and we started talking about the trip that we want to make next September to WDW...One thing lead to another and before we knew it, we BOOKED our room at the Wilderness Lodge!!!!! WHOOO HOOOO!!!!!!pixiedust::dogdance: Just cannot believe it!!! So excited! We are going to drive down, spend two days on the "Dark Side" and then....on to the WL for 7 wonderful days!! We requested the 6th floor, (actually, any above the 4th) looking over the lobby...something my daughter has always wanted to do. So now we are on to the next step, figuring the dining before the 17th of March...we are looking at the "Dining with an Imagineer" and maybe one more...we are also thinking about the Tour at the Magic Kingdom, "Marceline to Magi Kingdom Tour". Has anyone done this?
When we called, the CM said that the construction will still be going on, but the pool will not be touched as it was redone 2 (?) years ago and that the walking paths and trails will be open..so we should be able to walk or ride the bikes to Trails End for breakfast. She said that right now, the construction is on schedule and is moving quickly. It should not be a problem..
So now I have a renewed interest in this thread, because, ..... WE ARE GOING TO BE STAYING AT THE WL FOR THE VERY FIRST TIME!!!!!

We decided to extend our upcoming trip by 1 day and nothing was available at the Poly so we are booked WL Courtyard BB room. Anything I should know as far as what to request for online check-in? Been awhile since we have stayed at WL but always had WV. I know about the construction, but since we have Courtyard room, will that be an issue? It's only 1 night, so I'm not too concerned.

We are going back to the WL in Jan. Our first stay was in Sept '13. I have stayed at all of the deluxe resorts before and they are lovely, but the WL has won me over. The WL cast members were amazing with my kids. They remembered my youngest child's stuffed animal name and asked how "Polie", the polar bear, was enjoying WDW every time they saw her. Just one example of many wonderful small things that made our stay so special. Cant wait to get back!

Just wanted to add that I thought the lifeguards at the pool were very diligent and vigilant. One even had to jump in for a kid when we were there.

I'm always impressed with the WDW lifeguards continuously walking back and forth with their eyes on the pool. They're a dedicated team of professionals:)

Just got back from our Disney vacation. We stayed at wl oct 27-nov 2 in a third floor north woods view room. Our room number was 3032 right next to the elevator which was great couldn't hear any noise.

Construction was supposed to start out 26 and the screens were up however, we could still use the beach and playground throughout our stay. The day we left (yesterday) a cast member knocked on our door and handed us a note saying "pardon our construction etc" and gave us 3 really nice Mickey construction pins. We really lucked out we didn't hear or see any construction and were able to get the $100 off each night of our stay.

Right before we left we let our sons play in the arcade while we waited for magical express and heard quite a bit of noise by the Cubs den/villas area so I do believe construction has officially begun a week late. I wouldn't hesitate to stay at wl again my family and I love it there. It's a much smaller deluxe, you can't beat the boat rides to mk, we had great luck with buses also (there's a screen now up at the bus station for bus wait times), and the hotel is just gorgeous. I hope everyone with an upcoming wl trip has a wonderful time! I'm planning our next trip now lol :)

Thank you for posting about your stay:). Very cool that you got those pins:thumbsup2

Is it the blue one? Same thing happened to mine last year - very disappointed. Granted, it doesn't say "dishwasher safe," but I really expect these modern mugs to be able to survive a dishwasher. I actually mentioned the demise of my WL mug to a CR/BVG CM over spring break, and she said to just bring it back and they'll exchange it. I know that doesn't help you to get a new one now, but makes planning another trip much more urgent;)

30th anniversary weekend coming up 11/12 to 11/15. Haven't stayed at WL for 8 years. We always visit to eat at WCC, pin trade, visit the shops and sit in the lobby. Can hardly wait to come back! Standard view room at an AP rate. I just booked about a month ago. At first I was finding no availability at any WDW resort, but one day WL popped up and i grabbed it. Didn't even ask my DH, or book a flight, however once I got his ok, I also got a pretty good deal on Southwest. Can hardly wait!!!

Congratulations! I added your special occasion to the Lodgers' Log. Make sure they note it on your reservation:)

We're staying later this month. Is the gym (Sturdy Branches) open? How about any jogging trails?

The gym will not be closing, only the spa services. The concrete trail will remain open and only the sandy trail in the woods along Bay Lake is closed.

Well, persistence (and OCD) pays off! I've been checking at least 10 times a day to get a non-BB room for our trip in 2 weeks... And guess what I found this morning?! A CY with NO BB! Woo hoo! I swear, availability was changing 5 times a day. Sometimes there would only be a couple resorts with an AP discount, then a whole bunch would show! Happy dance!!

Love that Disney OCD and congratulations!

Great suggestions, Mender!

They'll be about one year into the construction at that time with about one year left, so it's hard to know what they'll be working on then, possibly the cabins.

Congratulations on booking a mother-daighter trip and first stay at WL. Bumping your question about the tour…

The "pool that won't be touched" would be the WL/Silver Creek pool, the VWL pool is closed. The wooded path to FW is already closed, but the concrete path will remain open. I have no idea why the CM would tell you that the "construction is moving quickly" when it just started a week ago and will go on through 2017! I guess she's being very optimistic.

Happy ADR planning!

The North Wing will be furthest from the construction that is starting in the VWL/beach area.

Welcome to the thread! That's so sweet and I hope that Polie and its family have a wonderful 2016 stay at WL.

My family and I stayed at WL in September, and my dad is obsessed with the mattress that was in their King room. Does anyone happen to know they brand & type of mattress they use there? I just called WL and was transferred to a Disney Collection rep who had no idea. Help my dad is desperate for a good night's sleep lol!! TIA:-)

I'm sure a mattress detective who is there now will post their findings or maybe someone who has stayed there this year will know and can help your dad:)

Question, do you think $235/nt is a fair rate for standard view during construction? We stayed at the villas in April and loved it and have always wanted to stay at WL during Christmas, which is the current plan. With amenities reduced and such, I just wanted to make sure I'm still getting a good value...

One of the CM who works at the BC told us that Disney buys special mattresses that are custom made for their resorts. They are built to last long and they offer them to CM's to buy. She loves the one she has.

That is a good rate for a deluxe resort. :)

I'm staying at the AKL in December, but have a dining reservation at AP. I missed the decorations last year, but not this time. Cannot wait.

Great rate. I'm paying a few bucks more to stay over at the AKL.

Wow, I just came down from raising the flag at WL and getting a little breakfast at Old Faithful. The slight pang of fear from heights was worth it for that view! And the only construction I could see from that angle and height was the usual scaffolding.

Thanks for the update. It would be very exciting to see the view from the roof.

I'm not surprised that they haven't started construction yet. We didn't see any evidence that construction was going to start on time when we were there a couple weeks ago.
