Disney's WILDERNESS LODGE Information & Questions

Hello all! I have missed being a part of the dis as our next trip isn't until May 2017. With that said, I have a question about longer stays at WL. I have been playing around with dates and I haven't been able to find availibility for a 10 night stay other than club level. I've tried a bunch of different months and promos just to get an idea. We haven't ever stayed longer than a week, so for those of you that stay longer, is it really difficult to get a longer stay like 10 nights? My plan is to book as soon as I can for May 2017, which if anyone knows when I can do that let me know. I can't even look at any 2016 dates online at this point. So I want to book as soon as I can and then when a promo becomes available apply it to the trip. Has anyone ever had problems applying a discount to this long of a stay? I am a Visa cardholder so I will have that little jump if and when a promo comes out but we have always had a promo in May, usually a room discount. When are the May room discounts usually released? Thanks so much for any help!

You can book over the phone at 499 days out from your trip. Dates for 2016 will be available to book online in June or July (usually this is when the dates are released for the following year anyway! That means 2017 dates will open up in summer 2016).
We travel in summer, so I can't help you with spring discounts, I'm sorry! Maybe January-ish?? You should have no problem applying a discount to your entire length of stay.
Hotels are going to be pretty booked up now through the end of the year, and it will be hard to find long length stays available for all room categories, just because of summer travelers, tour groups, and sports/cheer/dance competitions that arrive over the next few months and then into fall. Free dining just came out, so there's even more rooms snatched up. Don't be discouraged, it's just a tough time to try and play around with dates for an extended stay right now. I was looking for stuff for December and was having trouble finding rooms that fit my potential dates/budget, and that was across the board at all resorts.

Good luck and I hope this was at least a little helpful!

Hi all! Anyone at WL or VWL that could use some groceries? We over purchased and out DD developed a dairy allergy so we have a full unopened package of string cheese we won't use and likely some chips and maybe waters (all unopened)! We check out sat and would love to pass on the groceries!

Great Thread!! We finally, after a few changes, have decided on WL CL for the length of our stay. Our second alone trip, just the DW and I. We decided since we are doing the Keys to the Kingdom Tour and back to back MNSSHP parties, one for parades and shows and the next for rides and some Trick or Treating lol, it made since to stay close to the MK. This will be our first stay at WL and everything we've read about it sounds great. The boat ride looks very convenient. We are very excited and can't wait to arrive at WL for another wonderful Disney vacation!

We are considering a one night stay at WL, this July. The Discounted room I can get has Bunk Beds. Are the Bunk beds sized for kids, or a six footer sleep in one?

We just got a crazy pin code deal and booked WL honeymoon suite CL for Dec 1-7!! Has anyone stayed in this room? Can someone share pictures of the room? How many of this room type are in the hotel? What sort of views can we expect?

Thanks! :)

We are in one of the 4 honeymoon suites right now. We always book them and request the Wishes side. They have a king bed, a whirlpool, and from two of them you can see the high fireworks from Wishes at night. To the right you can see the Contemporary.

Thank you both! Are you there currently or that's the room you are staying in for your next trip? Should I ask for Wishes view or MK view?

No problem. I'm there right now. I was in a diff a honeymoon suite with the same view last time. You can ask for MK or Wishes view it would be the same.

Ok thanks! I've gotten nothing done today lol. Silly question..hubby is afraid of heights but says he's ok with the 7th floor. How "steep" is the view from the lounge area to the lobby ? Please don't laugh :) last time we had 2nd floor.

Also can you share some or the recent offerings for food?

No worries. We love the 7th floor it's incredibly peaceful with most of the noise taking place at ground level. I guess it would look steep if you are on the rail looking down but no need to do that, the seats are not on the rail but on the windows looking outside.

Main food items have been bacon wrapped scallops, shepherds pie, chicken pot pie, boneless wings, chili, crab ragoons, turkey & cheese wraps, California rolls, and several different salads/cheese.

OK figured out how to fix double pic/ all is good.

I loved the shepards pie! Our menu similar to Mystery's.

Also some seating is against rail overlooking below but other seating is against a wall and you can see out windows towards lake.
