Ok so we had planned dinner at WCC for after our day at AK but now I am thinking dinner from RF poolside migh be better for my young children so they could play in the water before bed... Will eat breakfast at WCC another day this trip. Are you allowed to take food from RF and sit beside the pool to eat? Just need to be close enough to see them running around the splash pad! Also will Trout Pass be open in the evenings for drinks?

You can take food from Roaring Fork to the pool area. There are also outdoor tables for RF, if the kiddos want to take a break and eat outside at a table. They are located between the building and the pool area. Trout Pass has tables that overlook the pool from a deck. My DDs had the tomato basil flatbread and declared it, "Awesome!" Have a fun trip!

Awesome info! Thanks so much!!

Can you see the EWP from all of the Deluxe Rooms? I requested inner courtyard view open balcony and then out of the blue my DH said "we'll be able to see the water parade, right?". I was thinking we would be able to see it from any of the deluxe rooms, but wanted to ask others experiences. I was hoping for the room area I requested both to be closer to the lounge and b/c I love that inner courtyard view.

Hi everyone! Thanks for such an informative thread! We arrive for our first visit to the lodge on May 16-23. We were originally at Pop but my mom decided to join our trio so we switched to a VWL studio for the space & extra fold down bed for my son. So excited! I don't have any questions that haven't already been answered so just saying thanks & add me to the log! :woohoo::thanks:

We've stayed in the deluxe rooms located in the inner courtyard and south wing and had pretty good views. From the inner courtyard view from room 6123, The front part of the parade was a bit obstructed by the building and from the south wing view(below) from room 4169 was slightly obstructed by the trees but we enjoyed it any way.

Awesome, thank you. Now if we only get our room request....

When we were at DHS yesterday we saw that the WL bus was being shared with the Contemporary instead of with the GF. Can anyone who has been at the WL lately confirm that the bus route has changed? Or was I imagining things. :confused3

You were not imagining things. The DHS bus goes to CR and WL. We shared EP bus with FW too.

Thanks for the confirmation. I always thought that it was crazy to share with the GF. Do you remember the order of the stops? Does the AK bus share with CR, too?

I think the Epcot bus will always share with FW since the monorail resorts use the monorail to get to Epcot.

One more sleep! One more sleep! Soooooo ready for this vacation to start! :teeth::teeth::teeth::teeth:

Are you there yet?! Hope you're having a magical time.

All Deluxe rooms face Bay Lake, however, some are mid-lodge and some are at the end of the wing:

The Deluxe room that elaw had in the south wing is preferred because there isn't as much foliage obstructing the view:

The North Wing Deluxe rooms at the end of the wing have obstructed views:

The mid-Lodge Deluxe rooms don't really have too much of an obstructed view, but are further from Bay Lake. We stayed in South Wing Deluxe room 5123, (one floor beneath elaw) and it had a great view:

Welcome to the thread and I'll log your dates:)

From both a CR and WL perspective, this isn't ideal. We stayed at CR a couple of weeks ago and not only did the AK and DHS buses take a very long time to get to CR, but they then went to WL and then on to the water park before arriving at the park. Those trips to DHS and AK took a very long time and seemed endless.

Hope you're having a magical trip!

We don't go for another four months, but I'm trying to figure out what area to request for the deluxe room. I'd like to be closer to the lounge, which makes me think we should request courtyard, but I know some of those don't have full balconies, right? I really want a full balcony. Even though it will be crazy hot in August, we do like to sit on the balcony at the end of the day. And my kids would love to see the EWP. So maybe I should request south wing. I think view and balcony type are more important than having to hoof it a bit further to get to the lounge. We've stayed CL at AKL where we had a good distance to travel before getting to the lounge and it didn't impact our stay at all.

WL was first dropped from HS and first picked up for EP

Our favorite way to get to Hollywood Studios is to walk to Trail's End for breakfast and then take an internal bus to the bus depot. DHS is a quick eight minute non-stop bus ride from FW. :)

This is a great thread.

We have been to the WL 9 times over the past 18 years (with a few stays in between at the Poly and POR) and we are bringing our daughter down in august to move down for the disney college program for the fall. Her dream started with her first stay at 16 months old on her first trip at the WL and of course she wants to stay there before she moves in. We are staying there for 3 nights before her move in day and she is aware we are. I want to surprise her with a club level stay as we've never done one and I know she would love it.

My question is we do not eat meat or shell fish. Do they ever put out any vegetarian hot dishes like a pasta? Or is it a fixed setting each night? I guess we could get by with the salads in the evening, and I know we would be going to dinner anyway, but I wondered if there was ever a chance to talk to a cm about vegetarian choices.

Thanks

Elaw, Did room 6123 have a regular open balcony, or did it have thicker "wooden" slats instead of the metal spires that more or less block your view when sitting? Looking at a picture i see of that corner, it looked like it wasn't a dormer balcony, but also wasn't the regular easy to see through when sitting balcony either. I think I am waaaay over thinking this, especially since it seems out chances of getting one of the 2 or 3 rooms I am requesting are not that high:crazy: I requested 4123, 5123, or 6123 for open balcony inner courtyard view, but wondering about 6123 actually being open balcony. I hate to have to stand to see anything, IMO it nearly ruins the point of the balcony except for pictures and just quick trips out to enjoy the view. we don't hang out or eat on the balcony if we can't see while sitting, and it makes the room darker. I am wondering if I should add a second choice of open balcony upper floor south wing so we have a better unobstructed view of the EWP, or if I should just leave it as is so they don't just give us our second choice since it is easier (a few more room options). See what I mean, over thinking??

ETA We did book a deluxe room, which I mentioned in my original post but not here when I replied. Just to clarify.

I don't think I ever posted our dates...can we be added to the list please?!

Sept 15-25
Me, DH our 4 kiddos and my parents...we have two rooms between the 8 of us. Hoping for connecting rooms, but will be happy just being close by. Would love a view of the EWP too...we have a woods view. What should we request when the time comes to try and get connecting rooms with a view of the water pageant?

A quick question, I have a train tour booked for my son and brother in October. They need to be at MK by 7:15am at the latest. Best way to get their the boat, bus or should they use a taxi?

My first stay at WL will be in August! I've visited many times, and finally decided to give it a try! I have a standard view room booked. Will we be in the main building with the lobby? I really want to be in the main building!
