Just added the discount to my reservation and have been upgraded to a WoodsView room. We have mostly stayed North Wing in the past. Either over the service area/smokehouse or the Otter Pond. Really want to switch it up this time around. What are the best Woods View rooms closest to the Bus Stop in the South Wing? What floor?

As nice as the WL pool may be post-refurb, there is no pool on property like SAB. I love the WL for so many reasons, but if the pool is the determining factor, I would go with BC. I forgot to look for a ticker before I replied, but there is a big refurb going on at the BC this year that might also affect your decision.

Thanks. We have stayed BC last time and the pool was lovely but a bit hard to stay in one place and keep an eye on the kids.
I didn't want to look at a fence while sitting at the pool but it looks ok in the picture. As long as it's not fenced right round near the pool and were able to have sun bed within the pool area then that's ok. I was thinking it was a case of you sit outside the fenced area whilst the kids are in the pool? Not sure if you know if that's the case or not?
Thanks

The entire pool area is within the fence, including the splash pad and the hot tubs. They have an interior fence around the new kids splash pad so if your children are playing there, you would want to sit in there, too. The only sitting areas that are outside the pool are the tables outside Roaring forks and the new patio in front of the Trout Pass bar. The new pool area is really nice. They did a great job with it. :thumbsup2

Just wondering if the 2nd bedroom in the dedicated 2 bedroom has 2 beds or 1 queen and a sofa bed? Our waitlist for a lock-off just came through, but I think we may switch it back to a dedicated if there are more actual beds.

We are going to switch our reservation from AoA to WL on Monday. Party of 6 - 3 adults and 3 kids (4,6,7). Would you do two rooms or Deluxe Club level? We are intrigued by the Club Level amenities and it would be slightly cheaper than 2 woodsview rooms. We've never stayed at WL or club level so are having a tough time deciding.

Also - would you change your reservation now to ensure that you have the right room type - then just apply the summer discount on Monday or do you think we'd be ok waiting until Monday to update the entire reservation from AoA? Basically, I'm worried about whether or not the room type will be available on Monday.

Making the reservation now does not change the availability when the discounts are released. They have a certain number of rooms, with specific views available and having a reservation does not give you an edge. So, if you're only going to stay at WL if you get the discount, then I'd wait to make the reservation. If you're there regardless, make it now.

We've never stayed club level at any resort but the club level amenities at the WL are tempting us to make a CL reservation before our annual pass expires Nov 30th, just so we can experience it.

As far as whether to book two woods view rooms or a deluxe room, it depends on the composition of your party. You will have two queen beds in the bedroom, with a door that closes between that and the living room and a sofa bed in the living room. The deluxe rooms are at the ends of the wings and have a great view. As long as I'm not the one sleeping in the sofa bed, I'd be tempted to choose the deluxe resort. :)

We had briefly considered a deluxe room when traveling with our daughter, son-in-law and five year old grandson, but realizing that we would be the ones sleeping in the sofa bed, we quickly decided that two rooms was the way to go. ;)

Same here - we've never done deluxe or club level - so it's really tempting. It would likely be my brother and nephew on the sofa bed (with Me, my Mom and my two kids - 4/6 in the bedroom). I don't know that they would care about the sofa bed unless its really uncomfortable. The one bathroom might not be that bad - since the kids are so little. I just keep waffling.

Couple of other questions ....
  • We will have a morning free on our departure day. MDE will likely pick us up at 12PM. Would you:
    • Eat breakfast at Whispering Canyons Café and hang out at the resort - swim or what have you.
    • or
    • Go to MK for a few hours before we leave (likely rope drop to 11ish)

  • Woodsview -
    • Do any of the rooms have a potential view of the fireworks? If so - what would you put on your room ressie?

  • Deluxe -
    • what floors are these on - I can't tell? It says club level in the room category but I think they are on multiple floors, right?
    • would you be able to see the fireworks or the electrical parade from one of these rooms?
Thanks for all of the input - it is really helpful. My family is very go with the flow and has left all the planning to me. It's fun but sometimes hard when you are planning for everyone else.

Our dedicated 2 BR had 2 queen beds in the 2nd bedroom, King bed in the master bedroom, and pull out couch in the living room. (a queen I think)

We requested Otter Pond, high floor and had a view of Wishes from our room. We watched them almost nightly from our balcony.

This is our grandson in the top bunk. It is really hard to tell from this picture but the bunk beds were the same size as a twin bed. The length of the bunk bed frame is as long as the queen bed. This is a big piece of furniture. This particular room was a courtyard view room, room 3113 to be exact, with a view of the upper stream, inner courtyard. But the bunkbed rooms are scattered throughout the resort, so you won't be limited to one particular area if you choose this category.

By the way, I slept on that bottom bunk for a nap. The mattress is very hard and uncomfortable. Technically, I fit fine, but was feeling a little stiff afterwards. DS (as seen above) LOVED the bunk beds and has been asking to go back so he can have them again.

We rented two Studio rooms at VWL and I was wondering if there were any studios that were together or if there were anyway to request through Disney to at least be on the same floor ? We have rented DVC points from Davids any suggestions on who to call ? Disney or Davids to even start the request

The refurb at BC is not impacting guests much at all. They are taking rooms out of inventory and doing a remodel on those rooms. Check the BC thread for more information.

Perfect! Thanks. Now I just need to make up my mind between the Deluxe and Woodsview

Please add us! We are FINALLY going to check-in to the WL on Dec. 26th and stay until Jan.2nd! We got a great "magical" deal and can't wait to spend it at the WL!!! Super excited! We have a SV room booked so we aren't expecting much in the way of a "view" - we just are super excited to see the WL in all of its holiday glory!! woohoo!

Do you have to be staying at the villas to have access to the train room? I thought it would be neat to see.

So excited I just switched my 2BR villa from BLT to VWL!! We stayed at the lodge in February and just knew we needed to stay again in October. Right now my dates are Oct. 17 thru the 22 but I am hoping a room becomes available and I can switch the last two days over as well. Don't mind the split stay if that's what we have to do but it would be nice to just be set for the week. I really hope my waitlist comes through!!!
