I just want to say THANK YOU to everyone here! I'm trying to take it all in. Our first visit to WL will be this September. Even with the construction, the place seems so great. I'm learning so much from you guys. :worship:

I was never really interesting in WL until now. I'm such a kid. I love AoA, the All-Stars, and POFQ. We seem to bounce back to AoA a lot though. I LOVE the Little Mermaid. :-)

We'd also stayed in what I guess used to be called the Fairway Villas (?) in the 90s. Those were great! We just never really make it anywhere near the Kingdom.

THIS year, I'll be taking a boat to MNSSHP! I'm SOOOO excited. Last year it took us an hour and a half to get back to AoA after the party.

We booked a Courtyard View because I really had NO clue as to where would be a good spot.

Again... I bow to all of your greatness. :D

I think you will love it! We had a fabulous stay, but in many respects I wish we had stayed courtyard, so I think you made a great choice! And I love everything about the boats!! Will be hard to stay anywhere other than a MK resort for us in the future...

Can you guys tell me if it's necessary to make reservations for breakfast at WCC? I figured since we'll be staying there we'd try it out.

I wasn't sure about breakfast. I figured there would maybe be a chance that since it's not character related that they're not that busy in the morning?

Our family has stayed there the last three times and we LOVE WL! It really is "home". The theming is gorgeous, the boat to MK is an attraction all on it's own, and the bus transportation is very efficient. Be sure to explore all the little nooks and crannies in the different levels of the main atrium. We like to take card games to play at night while we watch people in the lobby. And you can't go wrong with a courtyard view... the resort is so compact your sure to have a relaxing view. Have a magical time!!

We didn't eat there, but typically were down at around breakfast time and from the outside it didn't look too busy. We had dinner there one night without a reservation, at about 5:30, so close to what I would consider prime time for kids and only had about a 15 minute wait.

Also, if you are waiting, the pager works around the lobby, so we let the kids wander and go over and watch cartoons in the corner, so it wasn't like you really were waiting at the counter...

Thanks! I really hate making dinner reservations. We just never know where we're going to be or when we'll be hungry. We're really spontaneous as far as eating, but we also don't have kids to deal with anymore.

We've never had any trouble getting a table for breakfast at WCC. The place is usually pretty empty, although I have seen it a little busier on Sunday mornings. I get nervous when I don't have a reservation, even for a deserted restaurant, so I like to go into the MDE app and make a reservation that morning. It works out well that way and it seems like you get seated sooner. ;)

I agree. I get very stressed out about those kind of things. I went ahead and made one for that breakfast, and the Trail's End breakfast. You can probably tell that those are my favorite meals of the day. :joker: We don't usually have a sit down dinner. We're way too busy enjoying the parks.

We have a courtyard view room booked for June 23-30, are any of the courtyard rooms closed at this time? We called and asked if we can have a straight on view of the main pool and lake. Also what are the chances of getting an upgrade at WL since all these rooms are closed, we put in that it was my mom and dad's 20th wedding anniversary and that they were married on the sunrise terrace at WL.

Just booed a club levee room for May 30-June 3. We have stayed at every deluxe but WL and YC. Please tell me what i need to know about requests and anything else pertinent.

thanks

The courtyard rooms in the south wing are closed so you will have a room in the north wing. I wouldn't count on an upgrade but it would be nice if it happened. :)

The club level staff members are very friendly. With the temporary lounge located in the VP suite, they might not have all of the food and beverages out on display, so you might have to ask for it.

I was deleting pictures from my cell phone and came across this picture from Jan 2013. I decided to use it as wallpaper for my phone. Now I can't stop thinking about the WL. I took this picture from the fourth or fifth floor balcony. Both those balconies are closed now. Once they are open again, we'll be back. :)cp.jpg

Thank you. Of course i had no idea of the renovation. Have to look into it

OK so I've come up with a few specific questions . Do the standard club level rooms have a solid balcony? Are they all on the seventh floor? Do they all face in One Direction and which direction would that be?

Thank you

Yes, all standard club level rooms are located on the 7th floor and have solid balconies. For me, it's one of the downsides to the CL level stay are those solid balconies! Right now, they have a row of court yard view rooms and a row of wood view rooms (on the opposite side of the hallway, overlooks the construction). We had a courtyard view in April. While it's nice to see the court yard, you can see straight through the hotel rooms on the other side that they are doing construction on! More then just a refurb, I have to say!

They have turned a suite into a lounge. It does have nice views overlooking the lake. However, you have to ask for some of the drinks like sodas which are now located behind this little area that only CMs can get too along with the espresso machine instead of being out in mini fridge that guests have access to. The coffee and tea are in the hallway on a counter (to go cups inside of drawers!) and they have two tables in the room, one with food offerings and one with more beverages like milk, juice, and water. I didn't find their food offerings lacking at all. They were similar to our previous visits in the regular lounge. In other lounges, people are complaining about the wine/beer being served. Try standing there waiting for a can of soda! lol If the CM is having a conversation w/someone and you're standing there waiting, it can be annoying. But really, most of the time everyone was very attentive. In April we did a split stay between YCCL and WLCL, and the WL won out this visit! The staff was so much nicer, the food was better. We got the welcoming chocolate totem pole and our construction pins. We didn't even get the welcome beverage at the YC. Another visitor had a gluten allergy and the staff was bending over backwards to accommodate her. They were super nice about everything.

Thank you so much for the info! This was a last minute trip for DH and I and i have been home sick and checking constantly for openings with a discount on any mk resort.so far, we have had a GF club room , then POLY GV with no discount (saving 400 though) and now WLCL with a discount (400 less than POLY). I am torn though and still checking for a POLY/GF discount. I would rather tryWL when construction is done.

I had heard about the DVC construction but am just now learning about the Club Level going thru changes as well. When are the Club Level changes expected to be complete?

I believe I heard a CM telling another guest in the lounge that the renovations on the lounge wouldn't be done until 2017.
