SO I am planning my DD's 8th Birthday......It's on March 8th, as a family we will also be doing the Disney Marathon, Royal Family 5k.....on the 7th......Needless to say I got a Pincode awhile ago and booked the Riverside, Its the only Moderate we have not stayed at. But after reading some not so good reveiws, I started looking to see if I could find somewhere else....I called Disney for the Coronodo or the Carribean and there is nothing for my dates, So I looked into the Downtown Hotels and Found the Buena Vista Palace for about 10 dollars more, and a 50 dollar food credit a nite, So I dont know what to do?? Can anyone offer some advice........I am a little stuck......

I wouldn't fret about POR. It's really nice, and you can get a free boat to Downtown Disney, which is fun. The Buena Vista is NOT considered an on-site resort, even though it's across the street from Downtown Disney. I believe you would lose the perks of being on-site, like EMH hours and the Disney bus system.

We have stayed at POR several times with absolutely no complaints. We love it there. Great room, great pool, kids loved the playground. We enjoyed the boat to DTD. The bus service was fine. No long waits. Food court had a good selection with lots of seating. Both trips were wonderful. I would definitely pick POR over a non Disney hotel. The Disney perks keep us coming back after years of off property stays, we tried on site..........never go off property again.
