Resort Thread Disney's PORT ORLEANS RIVERSIDE Resort

Honestly I think for a five yr old car beach pool is best followed by cs and po last

The Riverside boat docks near the Marketplace and the OKW boat docks at the West Side. So you would have to walk the length of Disney Springs to get to the OKW boat, but it is doable. :)

Or take a third boat, the internal Disney Springs water taxi, between the two docks. A bit of a time-consuming way to do it though.

We are coming in really late on a Friday night in August. Does magical express run after midnight? Are there people there to direct us so late our flight gets in @ 12:30

Also will there be someone @ the front desk to check us in @por?

Thanks

Yes, yes and yes!

I am so excited ...we were booked at CBR where we always stay but switched due to th Renovations there and I am now so very excited. We have a royal room standard view booked and I will ask for not a disabilities access room based on what I have read here. Is one building nicer than the other ... I know the rooms will be exactly the same inside. Also if you are placed near an elevator ... We don't need one ... Are they noisy In your room?
We are from the UK and staying for 13 nights after touring on a road trip taking in Atlanta, Alabama, Nashville, St Louis, Memphis, Natchez, Baton Rouge and New Orleans. We are staying in two plantations as part of the trip so staying in Riverside is totally in keeping and the highlight at the end. It will also be the first time in 13 visits we will ever see it decorated for Christmas. I feel like I am going To burst

How available are the water taxis? Should I build extra time into our plans for them?

There aren't any water taxis you can hire at Port Orleans. There is however a regular (free) ferry service to Disney Springs, which runs every 20 minutes during the day and every 10 minutes after 5pm.

Cool! Thanks!

If I am coming in late on a Friday night & want to get a delivery from Garden grocer is it better to have the delivery set up for Saturday?

Also wondering what our food options are for a late night arrival

Thanks

I'm hoping you wonderful POR lovers are willing to help me with a surprise for my kids. I would like to make a photo scavenger hunt for my them. I've done this before at both the Boardwalk and at the Polynesian (many years ago) with the help of many kind DISers on their resort fan threads. :disrocks:

To that end, I'm looking for information about Port Orleans' iconic or fun places or unique items at the resort (a few hidden Mickey's thrown in would be grand). If you have a picture of the place/thing that would be awesomely helpful for me, but even just an idea with a short description would be helpful. Especially important, in either case, would be the location (so I know how to phrase my clues and in which order I should put them).
The prior photo scavenger hunts I put together were very magical moments for our family! pixiedust:Last time, I took pictures of them doing things like finding certain items such as the elephant that squirts water from his trunk in the BW's pool area or the hidden Mickey in the floor at the Poly's lobby. I also had them make a purchase in the gift shop, play a game in the arcade, and eat a treat from the BW bakery. I cherish the pictures I took during those scavenger hunts! My then 9 year old (who is now 17  ) still references those photo scavenger hunts as some of the most fun he's ever had at Disney.

Now that my younger three children are approaching the age that my older three enjoyed doing that sort of thing, I'm hoping to recreate that same magic for them during our upcoming stay at POR! :) We'll be staying in two Royal rooms at the POR, but I am willing (and wanting) to include both POR and POFQ in the hunt.

:flower3: Thank you in advance for any hints or tips you can give me so that I can put together another fun photo scavenger hunt! Your help would be greatly appreciated! :flower3:

We plan on getting hanging shelves to bring, as suggested on here. They are about a foot wide. How many will fit in the closet?

We don't plan on bringing many items that need to be hung, so we'd like to bring as many that will fit!

Thanks.
