New to the board looking at a stay at Riverside, wondering if it is worth it to stay in the preferred rooms? Or what rooms do people recommend at this resort?
I'll admit, I looked around at other resorts for my next trip, but I couldn't find anything I liked, so I'm coming back! Forgive me for looking elsewhere?
So, one question I have and I just want to be clear on. If I want a mansion room, but not a Royal, I should book the type of view I want, and then closer to the actual check-in date, request a room in either Acadian or Magnolia (or just request a Mansion room)?
So I am excited to stay at POR for the first time this summer. We are staying in a RR Garden view.....girl's only trip for me and DD ,celebrating her 10th bday (thus the Royal Room). Looking at the resort map I see a thin green line crossing the river, right between the Oak and Parterre buildings - I assume that is a bridge to cross? If so, that Oak Manor building would be a fabulous location!

Hello ,
We will be staying at POR for the first time in july, Royal Room.
We used to stay at the Beach Club but decided to change this year...
we considered AKL but it's too far from everything.... and GF was too expensive
So we finally chose POR!
So excited!!!!!
From what I saw here we made the goo choice
Hello all. My family and I (fam of 3) are planning our next trip and I think we've all decided on POR since our home CSR will be under renovation. I have scanned through some of the posts but not all of them since there are almost 300 of them. I was wondering how many people have stayed in the royal rooms? This caught MY eye as my guys could care less about the decor but I want to sleep in magic! Also, the scenery looks so pretty with all the foliage but I'm a little paranoid and wanted to see if there was anyone who came across reptilia. LOL I realize we vacation in the land of magic AND reptiles but I'd rather do away with not seeing any! Everything else looks fantastic since we'll be doing half days at the parks lining up with EMH. I want us to fully take in the resort and all it has to offer with movie nights, lazy days at the pool, exploring the resort, etc
We love the royal rooms. I wouldn't worry about the reptiles. We've seen a few here and there but in the grounds and not near the room. It is simply a beautiful resort. Have fun!
I'm considering dining at Boatwright's the evening of my arrival day. Do I absolutely need an ADR or are my chances pretty good of landing a walk up? That day is a play it by ear for dining on my end.
I'm so sorry!!! I had written a message with the photo to say that the Riverside schedule hasn't been released online yet but it isn't showing in my post!
Thank you for mentioning it xx
No, the beignets are at french Quarter, but it's not that long of a walk.
Yes, you can get deliveries from Amazon or garden grocer. I believe there may be a $5 charge now from Disney for deliveries

You have to remember that the Moderate resorts have no internal corridors so you access your room via a shared outside walkway which runs all the way around each building.
Oh geez oh pete why didn't I add one and one together? I say I'm awful at reading comprehension, but I'm great with spacial awareness. This was the first time that spacial awareness let me down.
