Resort Thread Disney's PORT ORLEANS RIVERSIDE Resort

How are the margaritas at POR pool bar? Worth the 10.00 ? Ouch!
I don't think any drink is worth $10!!!! I had a chocolate martini at ToTW a few weeks ago. Dd had a Magical Star, friend has a sangria.....bill as $42!! Seriously? Disney tends to go light on the alcohol and heavyish on the rest.
I just can't justify the cost, unless it's for something special...ToTW was special in that it was my dd's first WDW 'adult' drink!!

When we stayed at BW they had a channel with classic disney shows. Do they have this at PoR? I Don't remember it when we stayed at CSR.

They are ok, but not worth 10 bucks by any means, kinda small.

The Margaritas are great. The price is normal for a resort bar. If you really want to be adventurous go inside and get a Bayou Bloody Mary if they still make them. They are AWESOME!

Just returned from our first stay at POR. Next trip we are staying value but someday we will return again I'm sure. My biggest complaint was waiting 3+ hours for our room after landing and not getting any of my requests. Which I wouldn't of minded if it hadn't of taken forever. And the buses left a lot to be desired but from what we heard that happens from time to time. We enjoyed ourselves for sure, and will return! Considering checking out POFQ next.

If I want to ship water, do I just send it to the address in the first post and add my name and reservation number to the address? Anything else I need to do?

That's quite unusual, normally POR is very good at accommodating faxed requests. What time did you eventually get assigned your room (officially you should have been given a room by 3pm). And if it didn't meet your requests, did they offer to try to relocate you when you mentioned it?

exactly, we had to wait until 3:07 or so because we were waiting for the room that met our requests. They had others available.

I heard about the "invitation" for Royal Guest Room upon check in but not quite sure it is still the case since the letter is now imprinted on the desk in the room. If not so, I think I would opt for online check in with room number texting.

Any recent experience? Thank you.

We got to the resort a little after 9am, and didn't get a room until almost 1pm. We were exhausted due to our flight being super early and just wanted to get to the room for a quick nap. I literally fell asleep in the lobby :( I asked at the desk after a little over an hour if they could just put us wherever because we were exhausted and she told us they had nothing. Which I thought was very odd :/ Once we got to the room we just decided to let it go, and it ended up being super close to the north depot, so we felt like in the end it almost made up for it.

Get water at the resort store or from Garden Grocer. Cheaper than shipping.

They still had them available last time I was there - but you can always go and pick one up later, the next time you're passing the front desk. The version imprinted on the table top has been there since the Royal Rooms first opened.

Thank you Andre. Always so helpful.

I think I will take my girls to do check in for the whole "Royal" experience. Can't wait!!
