Resort Thread Disney's PORT ORLEANS FRENCH QUARTER Resort

Thanks. We will be there next week and was wondering if it will affect the Mardi Gras parade. We like to sit by the river next to the pool and see the parade twice: once when it goes by the boatdock area and once near the resort center.

You should be fine. We were just there last week and it didn’t affect our stay at all.

The work is pretty much contained within the perimeter outlines of the buildings, the parade will go ahead I'm sure.

Just booked a late 3 night stay at PO-FQ as the end part of a spring training trip in a couple of weeks. In 30+ years of going to Disney, I have never stayed here. Pigs are actually flying over a frozen hell right now as I booked rack rate and my vehemently non-Disney going DH is the one who suggested going "to Disney to hang out/relax". (Probably after hearing me complain of how expensive Tampa area hotel rates were!)

Looking forward to pleasant surroundings, walks between the resorts and pools, the boat down to DS. I booked a garden room and asked for upper floor building 7, figuring that would be a quieter area.

@andrewilley Yeah I had to book over the phone (online system kept booting out my reservation change) and asked the agent to put 7 and 1, then thought it might be best not to ask for too much (although the logic seems flawed). I thought maybe river/boat noises might be a thing in 1.

You will enjoy it. Have fun.

Just saw it posted that the Mardi Gras parade theme for this year is "The Magical Music of Disney". We are leaving tomorrow morning for PO-FQ and are very excited for this parade.

Just got back, stayed in room 3305. Not sure what you'd classify it as but the beds were lower to the ground, had a table and one chair instead of the bench, closet with one high and one low rod/iron board/etc in the room, only 1 sink that was wheelchair accessible and the tub/shower had lots of grab bars, a lower placed handheld shower and the shampoo thing was placed lower as well. I had requested 1st floor/corner and we got 3rd floor, a few doors down from the end. The room was near the elevator and a quick walk to the main building.
Just wanted to put this out there since our room was VERY different from the floor plans I've seen in this thread.
Was this at Riverside or French Quarter?

Starts at 10am from Riverside. See if from anywhere along the route, a lot of people like the riverfront pathway by building 6.

We like to watch the parade just as Andre says. After it passes you by on the river walk, you can also go back to the resort central courtyard and watch it again as it comes down Rue D'Baga (love the name) from Buildings 2 and 3. It is a blast. We will be there as well.

we have our AP voucher email.. we know we can go to any of the parks and get our AP on our bands ... the DISNEY person we called said there is one at Disney Springs.. can someone point it out to us.. being at FQ. we could just pop on the boat and go there.. any help.. also hope that building 5 is getting some love..

Hi all,

We are here now. We are in building 2. We love it. The location is great, right next to the boats and the pool. If anyone has questions, please let me know. The mouse keeping could be a bit better. On our third day no one came from mouse keeping. We called and came back later, no one came again. The boat and bus service has been great.

I thought the Moderates only had housekeeping every other day since Covid?

Question -- do you think buildings 5 and 7 might be open by mid April? Coming down for a week towards the end of April, and right now I'm booked at CSR in the Tower instead of at POFQ because I couldn't find any discounts for my dates. There are rooms available at rack rate, but they're $70 a night more expensive than Gran Destino, which is a big chunk of change for 7 nights.

I'm thinking maybe when all the buildings are open again they'll have a lot more rooms, and maybe a discount will open up?
