Disney's PORT ORLEANS FRENCH QUARTER RESORT Information & Questions

Thanks everyone. Switching isnt an option because we are staying with a cast member discount and POR is not available for that discount. May throw one in the car and have as a back up plan.

You'll be fine, a lot of people do this. The best place for the mattress is in the space between the main beds and the outer wall. The mattress will block the connecting door to the next room, but that won't be a problem for you.

You can leave it down during the day if you want, or stand it up against the wall. The resort can provide you with extra bed sheets and pillows upon request.

Anyone know the current refillable mug offerings at the food court at Port Orleans FQ? Specifically do they still have the Light Pomegrante Lemonade? Heading down next week! Thanks!

So excited! Just a Fall trip for my sister and I at POFQ. Last stayed there in 2013 with my parents and other sibling with the military discount. This time booked through an agency that had a exclusive discount available...35% off the rack rate. :cool1:

Since the TA rate was only $70 more than the rate at Pop for the same time period through Disney I decided this year we are staying at a mod.

We just got back from a week stay here. I love POFQ so much, I want to stay here when I come back to WDW in the future! I faxed in my room requests and was granted all 3 requests! (Building 3, third floor, non-connecting door way) The CM when i checked in told me they received it and before i even asked. :yay:

Big thank you to Andre and everyone who has helped me on this thread! pixiedust:

I have a question for everyone. Has anyone ever had Amazon Prime deliver things to the resort? I know Andre has the street address listed and I was thinking about doing the Prime Pantry and having water and snacks delivered the day of or day before my arrival.

Who would sign for the delivery? Bell Services?

This was just an idea I had to save a small bit of money.

I'll be checking into POFQ on Saturday, 4/18. My flight won't get to MCO until 3:30 pm, so obviously I won't need a room ready early. I made a general request when I booked for "convenient to main bldg," but I'm really not picky as to where they put me.

Is there any benefit to doing online check-in under those circumstances?

Oh, and I'm glad to see some POFQ merchandise, but I hope they end up with a cap available, like the other mods.

Last year I needed to order motion sickness medicine from Amazon and had no problem. I believed we picked package up at the front desk though I'm not sure husband picked it up. We have also shipped water and snacks through UPS and just called bell service when we checked into the room and they had no problem bring it up.

Does the store and/or food court have a "grab and go" area with premade, packaged sandwiches etc? We've stayed here twice and I honestly don't remember. If so, are those only available at lunch/dinner so we'd have to purchase day prior since we'll be departing for the day trip around 7 am?

We are taking a day trip to the coast and wanted to bring along our lunch. Kiddo has allergies so he will just take a sunbutter sandwich which we'll make in the room but I was thinking about the parents and grandparents.

THANK YOU!

I noticed grab & go salads last week, but I think any sandwich could probably be packaged "to go". :-)

I think the benefit might be to save some time. If you're lucky, with online checkin, you'll be greeted with a iPad-wielding CM that can make checkin fast and easy! In that case they will escort you to the online checkin desk with you paperwork all ready for you.

In case it impacts anyone's winter evening plans by the way, the current opening hours of the Doubloon Lagoon swimming pool are 10am-8pm due to the cooler time of year. As the POFQ hot tub is located outside of the main pool deck area, you will probably be able to continue to use it after 8pm (but not the one over at Riverside).

You can still use the quiet pools over at Riverside outside of those hours, but although the water is heated it might be rather long and chilly walk getting back to your room afterwards!!

If you can find a spot! Lol. We just returned from a 10 day stay, and every evening the hot tub was PACKED!! They really do need to build at least one more!

For our trip in December, DH and I had the hot tub to ourselves every night. It was heavenly!

And that, dear friends, is why you should never assume that everything you read on the internet will automatically reflect your own experience. :) Andre

Exactly. That's why I read reviews with an open mind. Also - what could "ruin" a vacation for one might be a "minor inconvenience" to another.

If a hot tub was the reason for my visit, I'd pick a resort with several. It is good to know info ahead of time. My vacation was wonderful and we enjoyed POFQ. (But I missed the Dolphins hot tubs! Lol). :-)

Checking in next Wednesday. Can anyone confirm that the hot tub is open past 8pm? Auntie is taking the kids for a night and I thought a late night dip might be nice.

I could have sworn pool was 8 pm, hot tub was 11 pm, but I could be wrong. I do know, it was always packed. ;-)
