Resort Thread Disney's POP CENTURY Resort

Thank you for the photos @Stacybaeasm and @scrappinginontario. With respect to the work tables in sitting area, where are those in relation to the check in desk? That was something I dearly needed back when I had to work whilst on vacation. Trying to find a quiet spot in the food service area to work while my traveling companions were still sleeping was nearly impossible. Glad to see that's been addressed. Also, did you happen to notice if there were electrical outlets or ports for computers, etc.?

Thanks again.

The work stations were on either side of the check in desks. It looked like there were plugs but I didn't go all the way over to the area.

This picture shows where the working area are on either side of the check-in desks. While they’re in the main lobby, they were quiet when we were there and would have been a good place to work. Unfortunately, I didn’t think to look for plugs, etc. either.

My daughter sat there while I took pictures but she can’t remember seeing any plugs. They may be there but we can’t say for sure.

These are pictures of the refreshed children’s area.

I’m not sure what updates were made to Petals as the outside appears to be mainly the same.

Just back from our POP stay in a standard room and it was great. Everyone was so nice and helpful. We enjoyed the food court a few times and food was fresh and well-presented. If I needed any towels or coffee for the room I'd stop by a housekeeping cart and they would provide anything you needed, so the every other day servicing was fine; I even preferred it.

The only complaint I have is that the luggage service needs work. We stood in a long line to drop our luggage as our room was not ready at about 1pm. I made sure to ask the luggage person if our bags would be delivered to the room and he said yes, and I tipped him then. As we left on the skyliner I got a room ready text. Almost 7 hours later, got back to the resort and of course our luggage was still sitting in the storage area. It took so long to retrieve it. Very annoying.

I have booked a future stay and splurged on a preferred room location. :smickey: You really can't beat the price, and we use the savings on dining. We've done deluxes for many years and I'm over the pricing. Stay here instead and save your money. :wizard:

They would’ve delivered to your room if you had called baggage services from your room and asked them to do so, but it could be 5 minutes or it could be 50+ minutes. They won’t deliver to your room unless you’re in it.

The Values have always delivered our bags without us being in the room.

Just our experience over many years.

I specifically asked him when I dropped it off. He said they would deliver it to the room even if I wasn't there. I got his name, tipped him, and left for the parks.

There have been reports of this at POP and AS (room delivery when you are not there) supposedly due to storage. Upon returning, we stopped to check if it was delivered and they said that it hadn't been delivered due to 'rain issues'. We then waited to get it ourselves, to avoid a further wait. It was taking a long time, and there were no other people on line. Another CM told me that it was taking extra time because they had to go to the 'second floor' to retrieve it.

Yes, I agree that luggage services can be a challenging long line. Hope they can somehow improve it.

My suggestion is for those retrieving luggage before heading to the airport, please leave plenty of time to retrieve your luggage. This was taken at12:30 and the line stretched to the far right of this picture, well beyond the people with the luggage rack. This line is not unusual so lots of time should be allotted if you have to be away by a specific time.

A few years ago we arrived at Pop Century and needed to store our bags as our room wasn't ready.

The line at Luggage Assistance was daunting!

Itching to get to the parks,we rolled on across Generation Gap Bridge to take or
chances at AoA LA.

We got there and NO LINE!

Told them about the line at Pop Century and we would be back later to retrieve them and headed to Disney Skyliner!

PoP will deliver your bags to your room if you are not there and the room is ready IF they have the staffing and time to do so. When I went last fall, they made sure to make it clear that it wasn't guaranteed that it would happen. It just depends if they get a chance to do it. I did not expect it to happen but mine were brought to the room while I was at Epcot.

:welcome: to the "you can go back after staying deluxe". We have not been back to a deluxe in years and have not really missed it and we much rather save a lot of $$$ for souvenirs, dinners etc. or put towards another trip. We have enjoyed our trips at POP and Mods just as much as we did when we stayed deluxe:) For us, we found "location" to be overrated and not worth it. So glad WDW offers so many resorts to choose from so we're not stuck at certain ones.

Yikes! So glad we drive and not deal with this or especially airports. Not to mention we can bring so much more with us, especially food, water and snacks:)

I just booked some bouncebacks and it's all mod and value. Even the non-CL deluxe prices are crazy. When I get tired of buses I just use Lyft. :smickey: My entire recent POP stay was literally less than the price of one night (before tax!) at a deluxe CL.

So true!

On the face of it,it would seem impossible to prefer Pop and the other Values over a Deluxe stay, but for us and many others it is ABSOLUTELY true!

The total Disney immersion the Values provide is awesome and the there is nothing "motel 6 like" at the Values like is sometimes implied.

We enjoy our time at Pop just as much as our time in the Parks!
