Resort Thread Disney's POP CENTURY Resort

We are in the 80's, building 7. We are not too far from the main building and a little hike to the gondolas party:
We were in that building a couple of trips ago, room 7110. At first I was thinking of changing but we always drive and that area is great for unloading/loading our van and we did not find it far from anything and actually liked the location enough to not change. LOL

It's not bad at all but I think if I were to come back to POP, I'd request the 60's or 70's. Tonight we actually went to enter our room, only to find out that it was our corresponding room in Building 9 :scratchin:rotfl:Sorry to be creepers outside of whoever's room that was :tiptoe:I don't think we've taken the same route twice between our room and the main building :rolleyes1 Love the gondola access!

DD and family are celebrating 1st and 4th birthdays this week, she decorated the door with a custom hand painted sign. Came back to room after park day and housekeeping had left a Green Ribbon Award recognizing the decoration. Pretty Cool.
That's the first time I've heard of a CM doing this. How fun for them and such a special bit of pixie dust!!

As @scrappinginontario said there are very few King rooms available.

Had DD family check in today, 80's section. Didn't get the requested king and front desk couldn't accommodate.

Just curious ... are there two adults with two children 4 and 1 year old in the party? If so then they do not qualify for a King room. Disney would consider that an occupancy of THREE plus ONE two and under. That would require two beds.

Any updates on the refurb progress? Is there a website tracking it? We're possibly heading down late July. I like the current decor from the previous refurb so I'm not against that, but if those are rundown....

If they are moving fast on the refurb maybe I can request that building.

There is a thread tracking it but is dependent on people onsite reporting in which has not happened for a while.

Happy to update with information from anyone who is there now or who recently returned.

Just booked my return Thanksgiving trip at Pop! This time, I'm going to NOT use Touring plans room request and instead just put my preference into the online check in and see what happens.

I would suggest either calling or chatting with Disney (or your TA if you used one) to have a note added to your reservation indicating your room preferences. The ones on the app are extremely limited and may not even apply to Pop. A few years ago I had "theme park view" as an option for AoA. And when we were at Pop last year for a one-night stay, the online options only listed 2 of the decades as options as well as 2 specific floors and garden view (or something like that). There was no "close to transportation" or anything like that. I didn't need to make a room request for our stay at Pop last year because we were arriving around 6:00 p.m. and moving to AoA in the morning, so I didn't care where our room was. I only looked at the options out of curiosity. I know those options on the app seem to change every time I look at them, but they never have the wide range of options (that are actually appropriate for the specific resort) that they used to have years ago.
