Resort Thread Disney's POP CENTURY Resort

How bad does PoP get the first week or so of February? I know that is often when the Dance and Cheer Teams are at Disney.

National High School Cheerleading Championship is February 7-10 and Pop Century is one of their Resorts and also February is one of the months when the 15s come from South America.

Hard to say how many of each will be staying at Pop.

From the pictures it looks like if they just Disneyfied Cabana Bay’s look. From what I have seen in pictures it looks nice. I am going to be at Pop Nov 29 to Dec 5 so hopefully it’s all done and ready to go by then.

Ok I’m a bit confused I had thought the food court was reopening then I read not till end of Nov but now I’m seeing pics of people in the food court. So is it still all closed?
Our trip is mid Nov and I thought the closure wouldn’t affect us but then heard it’s been extended.

It has partially reopened. Updated information is on page one of this thread and a link to a website sharing pics can be found above a feed posts up, in this post:

WDW News Today has a detailed look at the before/after updates to the Everything Pop! food court: https://wdwnt.com/2024/10/everything-pop-food-court-reopens-tile-removed/

Ok, Thank you! partially open is better than nothing! I just hadn't paid much attention all this time to the refurb because it wasn't during our dates and then got extended.

Does Pop have a 24/7 beverage station at Petals Bar or has that been removed?

Here at Pop now. Fierce gusts of wind and very very rainy!!! As you all probably know by now the parks and Disney Springs were closed at 2 and the food court was crazy busy after that. They did seem to have food for everyone though - seating is another thing because the renovation is still going on. Along with the tables in the food court they put tables out in the lobby and in the arcade. Remember that due to the renovation you can’t get into the food court through Classic Hall and can only get in from the outside doors. There was a sign in the food court that said “Plan ahead. Purchase meals for breakfast and lunch. Resort hotel amenities will be unavailable during periods of time where we need to shelter once the storm winds intensify.” Early this morning they were selling a loaf of bread and a jar of peanut butter and jam packaged together for $10 in the gift store, but I didn’t come into the food court, so I don’t know if they were selling that there as well. Tonight they did have boxed breakfast and boxed lunches for sale so you could take them back to your room for tomorrow. I will say communication wasn’t great about the boxed food and how Pop was going to be operating during the storm. A lot of what people knew was more from word of mouth and watching one person to another. I did see Goofy in the Pop check in area entertaining the kids earlier. They closed everything at about 8pm and I believe we are in a curfew situation now and are supposed to stay in our rooms. With everything I have said I know this is an unusual situation and many staff are here helping guests and I hope everyone stays safe!

Pop is more challenging during a hurricane than some of the other Disney resorts due to room doors opening to the outdoors. We were there in the past when a hurricane was possibly forming so stocked up a bit but ended up not needing it.

Hope everyone there stays safe and that things are soon back to normal.
