Disney's POP CENTURY RESORT Information & Questions

Arrived at POP today and going to MK tomorrow. What time should I be at the bus stop to make rope drop?

We used to get to the bus stop an hour before rope drop for MK (when staying at Pop or AoA) but we've now pushed that to an hour and 15 minutes since the actual opening time is usually about 10 minutes before the published opening time. Getting there a little earlier will also allow plenty of time to get through bag check.

I'm guessing that was a typo or they were thinking the park opened at 8:00 a.m.

Yes I was Sorry. I would give yourself an hour to an hour 1/2. I have already waited for a MK bus at Pop for over 30 minutes. Not the norm but it can happen.

Ok sounds great, thank you! This is my first ever rope drop, from a new resort so I appreciate the advice!

Checked in yesterday. We got the text that our room wasn't ready, but a half an hour later when we arrived they told us they had a room in the 80s section if we were fine with that. I had originally requested something in the 70s since we have a 13 month old and figured that would be quieter, but we're in the opposite side of the computer pool so it works for us. So far the only problem we've had is getting a pack and play in our room. I had requested one by phone initially. I could understand why one wasn't in our room since they moved us to what was available, but I had ended up going to the front desk twice and had to call before one was brought to us. A little annoyed at that, but so far we've loved it here.

Quick question...

I really need early check in as we are going to the MNSSHP that night. Early entry is at 4, but with check in at 3 I'm worried. I did request that as top priority on my online check in. Should I call/fax/beg somehow this week. We check in Friday. Thanks in advance!!!

As bluezy said, you can just leave anything with bell services if you want, then go to the park. We did that last trip, just dropped off our carry on bag with bell services the moment we arrived at Pop and went off to Epcot for the day. Our room wasn't ready until the afternoon, but then when we did get to the room, our luggage and delivery from Amazon Now was already placed in the room for us!

Arrived home yesterday from 6 days at Pop. I noticed huge changes since our last stay there 11 years ago. Back 11 years ago everything was immaculate, the gardens were pristine with gardeners working every morning and the food court drink stations were always well stocked. This trip I found it much different. The gardens are overgrown, especially between buildings, there was a large coffee spill on the stairs going up to our room which was never cleaned during the week, we passed the same litter in the outdoor "hallway" every morning for a week, and we always had to make rounds at the beverage stations to find ice, certain flavour of pop, or hot chocolate as many of them were empty and we could never find a clean table during slow times! We still had a great time and the only frustrating part was the drink situation but we survived. I was just really disappointed/surprised to see the downgrade in "perfectness" that Disney had previously displayed with all their properties.

For what it is worth, the landscaping is set to be redone with this big update coming up next month into next year. I have no excuses for the rest...

We got back 8/31 and thought the landscaping was very nice still! Our room was kept clean, but yes, I do think an update will be wonderful. I know it won't be completed for quite a while, as our room category will be eliminated and we have it booked for next March. So, it will take quite some time to do all the rooms once they finalize the decisions on the room interiors and start.

I still adored our trip there at Pop!

What room catagory has been eliminated?
We are booked at Pop late November and early February.

It's just the roll in shower room with king/double. They only have 7 of them. My DD needs a roll in shower, so they must be reconfiguring them.

What room category is being eliminated? What category changes are coming with the refurb? (I haven't kept up to date on the news.)

Edit: I was posting while you answered the same question from the PP! Thanks.

Been back for a few weeks now (trying to get a trip review done, but been swamped catching up with work and the kids' school) and wanted to post this before I forget:
Twin bed example by Scarlett Fae, on Flickr

This is an Intex inflatable twin. As you can see, we moved the table and one of the chairs to the right of the tv. There was more than enough room to leave the other chair, and plenty of room to walk past.
The Intex held up well, only deflating a little during the night, and it has an electric pump. Pump sounded like a hair dryer, and deflated/inflated in 3 minutes. We then folded it flat and kept it on the shelf above the clothes rod.

We have a 13 year old, and a very tall 15 year old, and both said it was comfy and they slept well.

Worked out great for us.

Looking forward to my first stay at Pop g only 10 days to go. Keeping my.fingers crossed I make my connection at Detroit

What kind of plane are you coming into Detroit on? If it is a regional jet, you will need to cross under the tarmac. If you've never done it, it's kinda neat! Very Disney-like, actually :)
