I am not having good luck with phone CMs! If you remember, I called Disney a few weeks ago to put in my request for a King Size Bed. The CM I talked to told me since I'm a party of 2, I will automatically be given a King Size Bed, which I know isn't true. Today, I had to wait 40 minutes to talk to a CM. This one told me that I can't put in a request for a King Size Bed unless I am in a wheelchair since the King Size Bed rooms have roll in showers. Aye yaya!!

I know it stinks, but try again. I think my record is 6 times to get a CM that knows what they're doing.

If you get the option to take the survey when you're done, do it. And be honest.

Got to POP today. Took a 5:30 am flight, ack, but got in the line for the POP DME at 11:22 am, boarded a bus at 11:44 and got to POP at 12:25 and was in the MK slightly after 1pm. How did I get such a quick trip to the park, you ask.

While I was waiting for DME I got a text that my room wasn't ready yet. Less than a minute later I got a txt that my room was ready and a map to POP. Really nice. Got off the bus walked to my room dropped my carry on, changed to shorts and. Was off.

Booked standard , and requested 1st floor near transportation. Got the 70s, about a 3.5 minute walk to the bus. So that's good.

I did get a connecting door and a screaming baby as a neighbor so we'll see how it goes.

They did have POP trading pins, but that was it. The pins were on the regular pin rack.

Didn't someone ask about honey? There are small packs over by the sugar station. Milk is 2.99 for a half gallon. They have distilled water in the food court you just need to ask for it 2.95.

Oh and mugs in red, blue, purple (though few of those) and green.

Sounds like you had some great DME bus karma! Thanks so much for sharing all the info, I hope you have a magical trip!

Bless your heart. It get's so frustrating when we know their job better than they do.
Next time you call, simply ask "can you please tell me what requests that I have on my reservation?" When they answer your question, if they don't have king bed listed, just say "I need for you to show king bed as my first and only request". If they try to tell them that you don't need to have that as a request or some other crazy thing just simply say "please just do what I ask". Then before you hang up, say "I think I am suppose to stay on the line and do a survey". Then of course you will need to call right back and make sure they added it. LOL
Or you could also start out by saying "I have called 5 times already and simply ask for a king bed to be added as my only request and every CM that I have talked to has refused, can you please make sure that king bed is my only request on my reservation so I can give someone a good survey score!" :rotfl:
I know that I wouldn't give up! Good luck and let us know how it goes!!

YAY! (except the crying baby :faint:) I hope he rest of your trip is magical!

I booked a 7 night stay for mid November (FD) with a preferred room. Then I needed to add 2 days on to the start of the trip and couldn't get a preferred room so I have a standard room. I know the resort is booked up like crazy for that time but I'm going to take a chance to ask if I can get the same room for the whole time when I check in. (I have to go to the front desk/lobby since I'm from Canada so I'll need to pick up our magic bands). I don't have a preference to preferred or standard rooms.

Should I still complete the online check in? Would it make it less likely to get to stay in the same room the whole time?

Thanks.

I'm no Pop expert but I've seen others post that they can't put you in a standard room if you've paid for a preferred as that would be a downgrade. They can upgrade you but not downgrade. Maybe ask if there's a preferred available for your whole trip when you check in?

You can do online check in if you want as it will have zero affect on whether you can stay in the same room or not. And it is extremely likely you will have to change rooms since you have 2 different categories booked.

It's not that they CAN'T put you in a standard room if you booked preferred, it's that they WON'T do it if you request it. They most definitely can downgrade you if they have to. If they have 100% of the preferred rooms booked and have something come up that requires them to take some rooms out of inventory, the guests that were assigned those rooms will get downgraded. We have personally had that done to us by the resort without even being told until we got to our room and realized it. Then it wasn't as easy as it should have been to get them to credit us the difference.

I didn't have a choice. :( When I booked the 2 extra days, there was no preferred rooms left.

Wow, that would be very aggravating! I would be insisting on a credit if I didn't get what I paid for, and there shouldn't be any hesitation on Disney's part to issue that credit if the downgrade was their action and not something you requested.

I agree with dansdad - they can definitely downgrade you if they need/have to but they can also upgrade you but will do neither because of a request.
You can make that as a request by calling a CM and then talk to the front desk when you get there but by then, your standard room will probably already been assigned to someone else since they assign rooms 4-5 days out. And we all know that requests are just that with no guarantee.

Honestly, we have had to move a couple of times and they make it so easy. We had no trouble at all. They moved our bags for us while we were at the park so we just left one room and came back to another. We look at is as an adventure and you get to experience 2 different area's of the resort! If you are at least wanting to stay in a specific era, it may just be easier to ask to stay in the same building. I'm not sure if you have other requests that you are hoping for but all the buildings that offer preferred rooms have great standard rooms as well (especially 70's) so if they can't keep you in the same room, hopefully they can at least keep you in the same building. You can call the CM and ask them to add to your reservation "request to stay in the same room or the same building", then during on line check in add your requests to each reservation. Just a suggestion.

Good luck and let us know how it works out for you!

That makes sense. I'll call/add it and see how it goes. Not a big issue for us to change room, thinking more of moving luggage. Was it pixie dust that they moved your luggage for you or can you request that? I was thinking that we'd have to take it to bell services?

They actually told me to leave it in my room and they would have it moved. That was 5 years ago. Taking it to bell service as you are leaving for the parks may be a better thing to do and they will have it for you or put it in your room.

I used to pay more for the preferred room at Pop, but then I began doing the standard. I usually request 90's by transportation. My trick is to walk across the parking lot to the buses fr the room. We do not stay in our room. We are up and out and get back late, so this works for us. My request is usually honored. Once I got a preferred and it did have the handicapped shower; kinda strange. The 90's work for us. It is close to the bus and in turn close to the main lobby. I was having a bit of a time with the online chat folks this season. I had one person even tell me "Disney is a busy place." Or something like that. I was trying to book a standard room at Pop and was getting unavailable messages. This was in September. I found that odd and that was the response I got. Thank goodness I did not take no for an answer. I was able to get the early 2016 offer and then I got a pin code. We usuallly stay at Pop, although I would love to stay in Little Mermaid at AOA. Just can never make myself pay the extra. And of course Mermaid is never part of the discounted offers. Now the trick will be to find a flight. I keep procrastinating. I may be in trouble.

Anyone at POP now that knows what the Bounce Back offer is, dates and expiration date?
We will be there in 3 weeks and we are planning a girls trip for next year.

:thanks:in advance!

New Mugs? I read a post that new mugs are coming out, and they're at Pop & AoA now. Anyone there now that can confirm and post a pic?
