I apologize if this question has already been addressed in this thread but would I be able to request a room specifically in the 50's section of POP?

Sure! During online check in, you get to choose 2 requests:

These are definitely not guaranteed but if 50's is your most important request, you may have a better chance of getting a room in the 50's if that is your ONLY choice. Then the room assigner can choose from ALL the available rooms in the 50's section. Once you add a 2nd request it starts limiting the room assigner. If you have another request that is just as important, then check them both and hope for the best :goodvibes

Thank you so much!!! :thanks:

So I'm about 5 days out and I got the bypass the desk email. Yay! I'm getting there early (noon-ish) and did put that getting a room that was ready was more important than my requests (ground floor/close to transportation). Since I'm standard I know that chances were I might get something far away or on an upper floor but as long as it isn't a roll in shower, it's all good. I'm hoping to get checked in and hit the parks immediately. I have plans people, lots of plans.

We got the "straight to your room email" as well; we requested first floor and 50 section. Even though we've got the email, I think we are going to the front desk just for the experience because we are new to Disney. My BFF arrives tomorrow night late, and she to got her straight to room email after doing online check-in. She lands around 830 so I'm guessing she won't get to the hotel until around 10; going straight to her room works really well for that situation.

:tinker:Pixie dust that yall get get the perfect room! I got streamline during on-line check in but I understand that 5-7 days out, I may get streamline or bypass the front desk email. Do either of you remember what your on line check in gave you? Our plane doesn't land until 11:50pm and we aren't expecting to get to POP untill 1:30ish :faint: and we would LOVE to get Bypass the front desk but we are really hoping for connecting rooms so I may have to stop and check in streamline. Please come back and let us know if you got your requests!
We go in 27 days and I am soooo excited that I can't hardly stand it!!! :jumping1:

I took "highest floor" to mean highest floor available at the time of checkin.
Oops, is that what that means? I took it to mean truly the highest floor. I didn't know if all buildings had the same number of floors. Ugh.

SPOERLX3... I originally was confirmed as streamlined check in too. I was surprised to get the right to room email because we are newbies, like never ever been to wdw. I really only care about first floor so we will see. I get there saturday so I'll try to post what happens :)

When you get your room assignment text, as long as your room # starts with 11xx, 21xx or 31xx then you are in the 50's on the first floor. The first # of your room # is the building (1 is Lady, 2 jukebox, 3 Tramp). What room category are you booked? Standard, Preferred or standard pool? If it is anything other than that, definitely stop at the front desk or talk to the CM standing at the front with an ipad. They will do everything possible to get you in an are that you are looking for. Just got my email that my MB's shipped! WOO HOO!!! :yay:

we booked standard pool.... and asked for connecting rooms with my friend who is joining us.... we shall seee!!

Planogirl, no worries, every building has 4 floors. Highest floor gives you a better chance of getting a high floor. The room assigner will check 4th floor first and then 3rd, etc. What other request did you make?

I've never stayed at Pop before. What is everyone's favorite area/building to stay in?

We go in mid-January and probably won't be swimming, so being near a pool isn't that important. We have preferred rooms. I was thinking a building in the 70s section near that giant foosball court would be fun. I love the big wheel statue.

I think it was Garden View or something similar? I'm an oddball who doesn't particularly want to be close to pools and otherwise don't care so I thought that might work.

I definitely LOVE the 70's section. Standard or preferred. It seems to be the quietest area since there is no pool and the preferred rooms are super close to transportation and Classic Hall. GREAT choice!

I don't like to be too close to the pools either. I am a standard room girl with a lake view request. Each trip, we choose a different era. This trip we have requested on our ressie, connecting rooms my daughters family since they have some date night planned and the connecting door will keep us connected with the girls if we are in the room so we aren't making any other requests to give us the best chance of getting connecting rooms so we shall see where we end up! Anywhere will be wonderful! 27 days!!! WHOOP!
