Disney's POP CENTURY RESORT Information & Questions

Thanks for your replies! I just found out that the time we are going there will be cheerleading competitions going on those weekends. Our dates are April 28-May 5. Does anyone know anything about this? Apparently the cheerleaders stay at POP and/or the All Star Resorts. Will them being there effect my stay? Thanks for any info. :)

We're booked at Pop (1st time staying there) from Jan. 29-Feb. 3rd. I'm also beginning to get concerned about cheerleading groups and tour groups from S. America.

Don't worry about what you can't control directly. Your only option to totally avoid it would be to book a higher priced resort. But that isn't a total escape, you never know what other convention or group could be also reserving things. In my experience I would rather deal with a cheerleading group then certain types of drunken conventioneers. You can always request a move if you are in the same building, it is a big resort.

We are having a great trip. So much better than we expected, especially after the not so magical trip last year and all the negative things I've read the last few months. I truly expected to have a lousy time.

Unlike last October, our MBs have worked for every purchase, FP, park and room entries. Service at Everything Pop has been fast (last year was awful). Ride lines are short except for the headliners, but using FP+ for those. We have walked on many rides. Most people seem completely clueless about the add'l FP+s. While headliners aren't available, we've had plenty to choose from. We walked onto TT twice today in the single rider line with standby waits at 60 minutes. The only time we waited more than 3 minutes for a bus was park closing at MK last night (25 minutes) but 4 buses filled and left before we got on, so they were keeping them coming. We did all 4 parks yesterday and Epcot twice with a trip to AK in between. Bus service has been excellent; the best we have ever experienced at Disney.

Hi Everyone!

We are booked at Pop Jan 22-24 as a last and 3rd part of the trip.

We had stayed at Pop on a last minute trip Oct 17-25 and even though it had been a while since I stayed at a Value, I enjoyed it (probably because we were in Building 5 in the 60s and we were close to Classic Hall)

Looking forward to heading back for a couple of days :)

Glad to hear you are having a wonderful time! We will be there tomorrow!

We were there in 2013 with some cheerleaders and a HS Band. Neither were a problem. We did get to watch the cheerleaders practice in the old jets area in the morning, but they weren't obnoxious or loud. The huge HS band was just amusing since none of them could read a map and couldn't find their building (80s or 90s) and were all following each other shushing each other so they didn't bother people while they were looking for it. I think they circled the resort 3 times while we were sitting in the DSA.

I was pleasantly surprised.

We are staying at POP March 11-19. I know that at that time there are cheerleaders and school bands staying at the All Stars. Which is why we chose POP this time. On past trips we have had the experience of staying at the same resort with cheerleaders and the S. American tour groups...same resort, same time. The SA's pretend they don't speak English and push their way around....also very loud in general. The cheerleaders themselves were not so bad but their parents were terrible.

I don't think I will ever understand how some people can lose all common courtesy when they travel.

I'll be waking up at POP one month from today!! So exciting!

But...just realized it's during Pop Warner week. Should I be concerned?

Super excited for our family vacation in October '15. This is all of ours first visit to DW! Planning on staying at POP and we are celebrating DS 8th birthday! Any suggestions on the resort or ways to make this trip awesome for us would be great!

Start your son's wdw experience looking down main street to the castle or coming in on the monorail

We're here! Checked in yesterday afternoon, staying in building 5, in the 60's. It's on the backside so no pool noise. The food court is very close so I'm happy about that. This is our first time here and so far, so good!

Going to be home at POP the first week of June and can't wait!! We have stayed at different places the last two trips and we are missing POP terribly!! My husband now refuses to stay at any other resort :) We just got back a few weeks ago and can't stop talking about our trip in June! I graduate with my bachelors degree in elementary education a few weeks before we leave and hopefully I will be celebrating getting a job!!! :)

If you do online check-in and mark "Lake view" and "Close to Transportation" what will we end up with (assuming they can meet both of those, depending on capacity, etc. I understand). We have a standard room (no preferred, no pool view). It seemed like Lake View was the farthest from the lobby/transportation?

What should I request if I want to be as close to the food court as possible? I only have standard room. We will be driving our own vehicle so we don't mind being near transportation. Also, is there elevators if your on the highest level or is it outside steps?

50's/60's/70's will all put you close to the food court but if you are in 80's/90's and cut across the parking lot it's a very short walk. All decades have std rooms.

There are elevators.

I'm guessing that you meant to say that since you are driving you don't need to be near the bus. There is close parking to all buildings and you don't have to park in the lot for the decade you are staying in....park anyplace that is close to your room.
