It would only be less enjoyable to me if I was far away from a pool. So if the pool is important to you, I’d just recommend requesting a building close to either the bowling pin or computer pool. My request would be building 3, in the 50’s section.
Why building 3?

Sorry to intrude, but I’m curious. I have an accessible pool view room booked for Nov (the only accessible type left when I booked last Nov) and was given the options of 50s or 80s when looking at online checkin. I’ve chosen 50s because it seems to be the best choice for both transportation options and food court, but buildings 1 and 3 seem quite equal looking at the map? I’d be interested to know why 3 would be your preference?

I picked building 3 assuming it was a standard room, because there are more standard rooms in that building then building 1 in the 50’s and the standard rooms in building 3 are facing the lake or other buildings and not the parking lot.

If I’ve booked a pool view room, I’d be happy with either building 1 or 3.

There is so much dislike of The 15's on this board. I found them to be charming and a lot fun. They were loud sometimes and there is no doubt if you got to the bus stop just behind them the group could take up 80% of the bus, but I enjoyed watching how much fun they were having. What a wonderful experience for them!

thr last few years we found the same - they were very polite toward us They loved that we were clapping with them as they left studios the other night. We didn’t witness any chanting at all this week. They were having a blast waiting for Fantasmic - pretending to be on a roller coaster and all swaying in unison. They started the wave and cheered when the rest of the crowd did it. They smiled at us and apologized to us when we needed to cross their group to get to the bathroom. Only thing is you don’t want to be in line behind them because they will definitely extend wait time. But every time we saw them they were just fine. Are there instances where they get out of control? Probably but we haven’t witnessed it in several years

That makes sense thanks. Yes if I hadn’t had to choose the pool view I would have asked for an accessible lake view and crossed my fingers.

just note, this is a request, not a specific room held.

Thanks, I do understand that. I’ve stayed onsite before, just not at Pop. I’ve been lucky enough to get the building I asked for at FQ the first time, and the exact room I wanted, again at FQ, the second. I suspect it might be my time to not get even close LOL.

I’ve chosen 50s on the online checking and will send a Touring Plans request for 50s building 1 or 3. My hope is that by giving them a wide choice and not asking for a lot of specifics it might be easier for them to honour it and I can avoid 80s (fingers crossed).

Do you think going to Pop without the hippie dippy pool open, if it’s not finished by April, will make it less enjoyable? is that the best of the pools in your opinion and will it make the other ones super crowded? Just wondering and looking for opinions. We have never stayed there. Thanks!
We were at Pop when they closed the Hippie Dippie pool so we were able to experience it one day and the Bowling Pin pool the next. We actually enjoyed the Bowling Pin a lot. They have a volleyball net if it is something you like. Also, there are changing rooms, lockers and showers there too. Very useful on checkout day. I have never felt crowded in a pool at Pop, quite the opposite, but have never been in summer either. I would definitively recommend Pop with or without the Hippie Dippie pool.

What are the 15's?

The 15s are Tour Groups of South American girls celebrating their 15th Birthday.

They are FAMOUS for their matching Backpacks and shirts and for their LARGE numbers!

Most are given the choice of a LARGE party at home or a trip to WDW(some will also go to NYC and Miami and Bahamas)and,in addition to WDW,most will also go to Universal,Sea World,Busch Gardens, etc.

Some will also have Private Parties(some with South American entertainers)as well as Quinceanera celebrations in World ShowPlace.

The largest numbers,BY FAR,are from Brazil and Argentina with smaller numbers from Uruguay,Paraguay,Chile,Venezuela, etc.

It is VERY interesting when Brazil and Argentina encounter each other-they DO NOT like each other-mainly because of Soccer.

Their rivalry is like Alabama v. Auburn or Ohio State v. Michigan on STEROIDS!:)

The "main" months for the migration of The 15s are July which sees the biggest numbers by far for their Winter Break and January(Brazil)/February(Argentina) with lesser numbers for their Summer Break.

I am very familiar with The 15s as we go every July for my Birthday and,for the most part, they are really nice young ladies, but they can get "out of hand" at times!lol:)

They now use Private Buses alot and that has helped greatly as has the introduction of the Super Greeters in the Summer.

I present to you the LEGENDARY PHENOMENON KNOWN AS THE 15s!lol:)

We are big Elvis fans and we love the Bowling Pool Soundtrack with all the 1950s music!
LOVE the Bowling Pin pool! I was at Pop last week in Building #1 so I saw that pool quite a big but it was little too cool for swimming, at least for me. I did notice a few families using it though. I do hope Hippy Dippy is open by the warmer months.

Back from 8 nights at Pop. We had two adjoining rooms for our family of 5.

Great things about the trip:
1. Rooms were clean and tidy. We declined Mousekeeping for the week and had no trouble getting new towels and taking out our trash. Yay $140 gift card!
2. Did Amazon Prime delivery for groceries, very easy, picked up our package at the luggage desk, no trouble.
3. The Skyliner is absolutely amazing, so easy and not crowded and so fast! LOVE it! Will be very difficult to stay at a resort not on the Skyliner in the future
4. Never had to go to the front desk ever for our trip, which was awesome
5. Used UBER 3 times for rope drop to HS and one morning for breakfast, super easy.

Not so great things about the trip:
1. Arrived at resort at 12:15 and when we returned to our rooms at 9:30 at night, none of our luggage had been delivered yet. Had to go wait in a very very long line at the luggage desk to retrieve our luggage. Probably will never do DME luggage again.
2. Had absolutely AWFUL neighbors, dad screamed at kids so loudly each night, seriously frightening how awful he sounded. If I were his kids I would have cried all night too. Okay, I know this is not the resorts fault, but it seriously sucked for the 5 nights we had a common wall with this family.
3. Food Court was mass chaos the few times we ran in to get a sweet treat, I am glad we never had to eat a meal in there.

We are a park heavy family, we literally were in our rooms only to shower and sleep. I would absolutely stay at POP again when I plan to tour the parks heavily. Rooms are small but efficient. Two rooms was perfect for our family of 5. We stayed in building 2 of the 50's and I felt like it was a quick walk to buses and to Skyliner. All in all a fantastic trip!

We're a family of 5 also and stayed in the 50's section bldg 3 and loved it! It was closer to the skyliner than I thought it would be and not far from the food court. Parking for our car was convenient too. I would stay there again too especially with the connecting rooms. My husband ordered from Amazon Prime and it was delivered to our room. We saw the package when we got back from the parks. I'm glad you had a wonderful stay and thank you for the review. :)

What time does the first MK bus leave Pop on a regular 9AM opening morning? (Looking for a Sunday without EMH/EMM, if that makes a difference)

Thanks! Someone told me they started running at 8AM and I was worried...
Very helpful!

No need to worry. They definitely start running by about 6:30 -- often a little earlier. We've gotten on a bus to MK at about 6:40 and I know that wasn't the first bus of the morning because we saw an MK bus pulling out of the bus stop as we walked up to it. The first bus left around 6:30.

Someone told me they started running at 8AM
For some unknown reason Disney "advertises" 45 minutes before Park Open and two hours after Park Close.

Neither are true-first Magic Kingdom bus is usually between 6:00 AM and 6:30 AM and the other Parks between 6:30 AM and 7:00 AM and buses will run after Park Close until the Park is empty,no matter how long that takes.

Even earlier for DHS lately. We were on a bus for DHS before 6AM couple weeks ago.

How crowded was the bus at that time of the morning with people trying to get to DHS for boarding groups? Trying to figure out if better risking catching the bus or if it’s safer taking an Uber/Lyft.
