Resort Thread Disney's POLYNESIAN VILLAGE RESORT

Does anyone know if you can get to go coffee at the Wailulu place at the Island Tower?
Yes they have Grab and Go items in the morning at Wailulu. For morning 7 - 11 AM it is a Quick service style venue.

They have Joffrey's Cold Brew - $5.29, and Fresh Brewed Joffrey's Hawaii Kona Blend - $4.99. Espresso-based Beverages - Espresso, Cappuccino, Caffè Late, or Americano - $4.99 to $6.49.

Ahhh, perfect, thank you so much! Just what I was hoping to hear!

Can anyone let me know what the coffee maker situation is like at Island Tower? We will be staying in a 1 bedroom villa and are very particular about our coffee and don't do kcups. If I can use grinds, what size filter does it take?

Dave, do you know if you can use the refillable mug there for coffee?

Sorry but we are not big coffee drinkers in the morning so I can't comment. I know that the (2) Coke Freestyle machines by the pool / Wailulu bar have a mug rinse sink so maybe ask the bar near the (2) machines.

Thanks! I did see the FreeStyle machines (and used them) during our last stay. But no one seems to know about the coffee at the Tower!

I am going to bet that Wailulu will offer coffee mug refills in the morning at a minimum, they call it a Quick Service restaurant for the morning hours before they switch Wailulu to Causal Dining for Lunch, and dinner.

We do need to get a first hand report. The Mug refills are supposed to be offered at the resorts Quick Service locations. They have Fresh Brewed Joffrey's Hawaii Kona Blend listed on all (3) menus.

They have coffee mug refills at the Oasis Pool still don't they?

Yes, they do! We were in Tokelau so it was very convenient! And I am not an early riser/rope drop person anymore, so the later opening was not an issue. I was always able to get coffee by 9am, and probably earlier, but I was not up then! 🤣

Its the combo kcup/drip coffee machine. Takes a normal sized drip coffee filter.

Sidewalk Paved for New Entrance at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort

Sidewalk construction at Disney's Polynesian Resort

Concrete has been poured, creating a curving sidewalk to the side of the new roadway. At one end, it connects to a pre-existing sidewalk. The other end meets a crosswalk.

There is framework in the ground for the sidewalk to continue towards the Great Ceremonial House. It’s possible a curb cut will be added where the sidewalk ends.

There is light-colored dirt around the sidewalk and in the center of the new roads. These areas will be filled with plants. There are markers throughout the dirt, maybe outlining future flowerbeds.

On the other side of the new roadway is a patch of dirt. Another sidewalk could be constructed here. Recently, new pavement was also laid near the entrance.

A new guard house is also under construction just off Floridian Way. This new entrance will be more directly in front of the Great Ceremonial House. The current Seven Seas Drive entrance to Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort will become a bus-only entrance.

We stayed in the Tower a week ago. It was wonderful and I will be back. (This was my first stay at Poly, and I know some don't like the Tower, but I don't have anything else to compare it to, so I have to say I loved it.) Is a bus stop planned for the Tower?

Is a bus stop planned for the Tower?

No, no tower bus stop has been a part of any plans. The current bus stop is being expanded a bit in the parking lot/guest entrance/bus entrance reconfiguration work that will take place in 2026.

It'll be annoying until all of the parking lot/surrounding road work is complete, but I'm optimistic the eventual separation of bus and guest traffic access points into the resort will provide bus positive bus efficiencies just in terms of access in/out of the resort.

Glad you enjoyed your Poly stay!

Hi, all. Have an upcoming Poly stay (club level) and need a fridge for my son’s medication. My understanding is that there is a beverage cooler in the room, but this will not be cold enough. Any experience with a similar situation? Thanks!

Grass, Trees, and More Planted Around New Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort Roadway Entrance

When we last checked on construction of the new roadway entrance to Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, a sidewalk had recently been paved. Crews have now planted fresh grass, trees, and foliage.

The new sidewalk is on the left when facing the new entrance from The Great Ceremonial House. It connects to a pre-existing sidewalk and crosswalk, and will eventually lead to the edge of the curb in front of the lobby building. Where there was previously just dirt are now some trees and other plants.

The dirt hasn’t been fully filled in, but we’ll likely see more plants added over the next few days and weeks. A ramp next to the sidewalk also appears to have been painted to turn it into a couple of parking spots.

In the center of the roadway, there is now grass around some patches of dirt that will become flowerbeds. A few trees are in the dirt.

On the other side of the construction zone, a row of parking has been repaved and painted. Parking curbs are at the fronts of each parking space. Some plants have also been added around a sidewalk on this side, with a dirt patch near the Great Ceremonial House awaiting plants.

The new entrance is off Floridian Way, more directly in front of the Great Ceremonial Entrance than the current Seven Seas Drive entrance. The current entrance will become a bus-only entrance.

This is sort of a strange request, but if anyone is heading to the poly in the next 6 weeks or so and would be willing to take a picture of the fridge section at Moana Mercantile I would be grateful!

Heading there in February and I usually do a grocery order, but mostly just for coffee creamer, so if they have decent options on-site I could avoid doing a whole grocery delivery. TIA if anyone is willing :)

Just finished a stay there this afternoon. There was a road construction sign saying there would be a new traffic pattern as of 12/17, so the new guard shack opening must be imminent.
