Resort Thread Disney's POLYNESIAN VILLAGE RESORT

I have booked a standard view room for January! So excited to be back at the Poly but I don’t think I’ve ever stayed in a regular room! I’ve always booked a studio .
Where / what are the best locations for views or any other great room choices?

Rarotonga would be my personal favorite for resort view rooms. It's a convenient longhouse near the Great Ceremonial House, bus stops, and the path to the TTC.

You can also avoid most of the FL extreme heat/sun and rain because it's steps away from the Great Ceremonial House.

Unlike the deluxe studio longhouses you're familiar with, Poly cash longhouses do not have a balcony on the second floor. The first floor has a patio and the third floor has a balcony. The second floor still has a sliding door, but it's only a railing where you can look from the room. Just keep that in mind for a room request if outdoor space is important to you.

Thank you so much!

Only small caveat I'd add to @PolyRob's post is there will at some point be construction occurring at the Poly bus stop area and new bus stop turnaround. Right now work is mainly directly in front of the porte cochere and what will be a new guest entrance, at some point construction will move to the bus station and turnaround. Rarotonga has the benefit of some distance and landscaping between where work will be occurring and the building, but I'd manage expectations a bit in that it's possible/likely some rooms may be impacted with construction views or noise (think construction equipment, concrete trucks, asphalt paving, etc). Note we don't know exactly when this bus stop/turnaround work will be occurring, but we know it will happen at some point from now through 2026.

I don't know if I'd really overhaul room requests because of this, just something to keep in mind.

Have fun!

Is this the only longhouse with the standard view room views?

Nope there are 6 longhouses with Resort Views. The Standard View was rolled in to the Resort View category and there is no longer a Standard View.

But for your reference Aotearoa and Rarotonga had the most Standard Views that overlook the Monorail / parking areas.
