Resort Thread Disney's POLYNESIAN VILLAGE RESORT

Back from our Space 220 resi at Epcot…..pool is empty currently. Space was definitely different. Very empty considering the crowd in line outside..food was very good, but drinks…..not so much609280609281

I posted this on the housekeeping thread too but any word on fuller housekeeping at the Poly? I’m planning our first trip to Disney for April 2022 (postponed from April 2020) and my husband, who is already not too excited about the trip tbh, had a very strong reaction when I told him how light the housekeeping these days is. We’re booked at the Poly, so he definitely has a point that for the amount we’re paying, we shouldn’t have to worry about bed making or taking trash out, begging for extra towels, etc. I’d like to stay on property but maybe I should give in and look somewhere either cheaper or same but provides more service? Curious if anyone has heard about any improvement in pipeline!

So we are here currently and housekeeping had been coming everyday to take trash, change towels and sweep…..they do not touch anything….so no bed or anything like that. To us this is totally acceptable and fine…I make the bed everyday so no worries

thanks! Sweep like the floors? Is that vacuuming? Do they wipe down bathrooms? Just curious! I guess I’m just wondering if the room looks fresh and clean when you return or if it’s essentially how you leave it but maybe with less trash. I have two young boys so while we def try to clean up, it can get chaotic very quickly!

sweep…we always request 1st floor room and we always exit and return from pool thru sliders. The floors are not carpet so I assume sweep. The room looks how you left it….just new towels and trash taken out

thanks for the info! I’ve never stayed there so i assumed there was carpeting. That’s disappointing that the room looks almost exactly like it’s left though—for the price, one should have the option of getting full housekeeping, at least every other day.

Two things....

#1.) The 50th Celebration Dole Whip at Pineapple Lanai is pretty fun! Think it's about $0.50 more, but you get the little chocolate wafer, some sparkling sugar, and the little tiki umbrella. Just a bit of festive fun!

2.) We're sadly coming to the end of our vacation tomorrow, we brought some Tide and Bounce with us to use for laundry, so if someone wants the remainder of them, feel free to DM me! I can hang them in a bag on your door or something. Figured it's better than just throwing them away, and the cast members seem to be cleaning up the stuff leftover in the laundry room pretty quickly.

Hi folks. Will be staying at the Poly for the first time in February! We are usually Wilderness Lodge folks so I’m excited to try somewhere new. Just wondering what would be a good room request fir a standard view and why? I saw some older threads mentioning 3rd floor Tokelau. Is that still valid after the refurb? Ideally we’d want something closer to the TTC and have as decent a view as possible for a standard. TIA!

Tokelau is my favorite for standard view. Nicely located between TTC and GCH. Oasis pool is also close by. This is the view from 3913 Tokelau. 610154

Tokelau is DVC villas now no standard rooms there.

You don't have to be a DVC member to book a DVC room. They are available through Disney. If you booked at Poly Villas and Bungalows- it will be in the DVC section. Resort is the hotel section. I know that thanks to others on this thread who clarified when I booked😊

Anyone know the current food offerings at Tambu lounge? are some Ohana items still available? And what is the current room service menu?
