Resort Thread Disney's POLYNESIAN VILLAGE RESORT

The best way to get to the International Gateway from Poly is to take the Boardwalk bus from the front gate of MK. Bonus if you do this in the early morning the bus will typically be empty.
Didn't think of this option. Feel like it could be similar to bus to Hollywood Studios then walking to Gateway

Would think about 8 minutes to Monorail to MK. 5-15 minutes for bus. 20 minutes to BWV. 8 minute walk to Gate. (41-51 minutes)

Would really just come down to how early/quick you can get on monorail or on a Hollywood Studios bus.

Just rideshare to Dolphin and walk from there. They don’t have the same strict policy as the Disney deluxes and getting dropped there isn’t a problem.

Personally I never do this though because we typically split stay with a Crescent Lake resort and usually rope drop IG then.
You can do Swan or Dolphin for this correct?

Yes without any issue using a Rideshare. The Swan would be fastest due to the smaller building.

Just walk thru the lobby and turn left at the swan fountain. Straight thru to the doors out to the walkway to the Dolphin, Friendship boat dock or turn right and follow the walkway toward the Boardwalk area and keep walking to Epcot International Gateway.

Since I will have 2 in car seats, paying the extra for Minnie Van would be worth it. A Minnie Van can drop me at Boardwalk without dining reservation correct where as regular rideshare cannot?

Its hit or miss and 100% dependent on the parking lot guard. Some will ask if you are checked in there; some will see the Uber/Lyft ID and wave you through...if it is around park opening I would think they are more strict; tried to go to IG via Lyft through Beach Club once before Early Entry and they let me through but also gave me a warning.
Edited to add this was my experience with Lfyt, not Minnie Van. Never did Minnie Van.
If you want to get really creative and not spend $ you can take the early bus to Hollywood Studios and boat/skyline over (the latter you would need to change at Caribbean Beach).

Yes a Minnie Van (MV) can drop you at the Boardwalk.

You would be better served having the MV drop you at the Beach Club. BC is slightly closer to the International Gateway (IG), and there are no elevators or stairs like at the BW. Unless you are stopping specifically at BW for another reason.

Just walk in the front lobby and straight out the back. Turn left on the walkway at Crescent Lake and follow the walkway to Epcot IG.

Minnie Vans are not scrutinized the way Uber/Lyft are and that's what we're referring to. SOP with Uber/Lyft is to just get dropped off at Swolphin because they don't care over there like at the Disney deluxes, but he's got multiple kids who need car seats so Uber/Lyft is out.

Got it. Forgot the rideshares don't have that ability (and I was there with a 2 and 5 year old at one time- seems like forever ago). I guess we just used Disney transportation back then (the monorail and bus with a double stroller at closing was a nightmare).
Do they still not allow double strollers on the skyliner?

Interesting email from Disney I just received. Pretty much the standard operating policy anyway, but you don’t often see it in writing.

Important information about your visit to Disney's Polynesian Villas & Bungalows

Happy Holidays! Thank you for staying with us at Walt Disney World Resort®.

To help make sure you and all resort guests staying with us have enough parking and amenities, we’ll only be allowing guests listed on a resort room, dining or recreation reservation to park at the resort. Those with dining or recreation reservations will only be permitted to arrive two hours before their reservation time.

All others, including those visiting registered resort guests, will be asked to park nearby at a different location and take transportation to the resort.

We appreciate your understanding and hope you have a wonderful stay!

I also received an email today—“Important information about your visit to Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa”—its interesting though, cause I didn’t receive one from the Poly for the 2nd half of our stay. Maybe it’s a weekend thing?

Did it have the same basic information that @GADisneyDad14 posted about resort access?

Last few times I’ve eaten at Ohana I told them no bread and I’m allergic to shrimp and mushrooms so no shrimp and no veggies with mushrooms and no dessert. I’ve had most of the food they brought even though I even asked for small portions left after I finished. I’ve never asked for refills of anything. Up until this last visit I was allowed to take the leftover chicken wings and noodle with me. This time I was told this is no longer allowed.
