Disney's POLYNESIAN VILLAGE RESORT Information & Questions

Speaking of the new rooms, we have a DVC Studio reserved. What are the chances of being put into the non-DVC studios? They look great.

When are your dates? There have been some reports of folks being displaced by the pending DVC-side room soft goods refurbishment and being put in hotel-side rooms. Although I'm not sure of the exact dates or how pervasive those relocations are?

Going July 30 for one night. Seems most of the folks getting bumped over are in August.

The hotel-side guest rooms at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort are currently being redone and Disney has released a look at some of the new elements we can expect to see. The reimagined rooms will feature artwork, including a mural that spans the length of an entire wall, that highlights Moana, Maui, and other themes and characters from the Disney film.

Welcome to the new thread everyone - I need to add more pictures and updates once the resort reopens and we start to see reports/pictures, plus there are inevitably some details I need to add. If you see anything off, please let me know.

Pictures of room views, recreation calendars/signs, and general happenings around the resort are always appreciated.

Thank you!
Thank you for all of your time and effort creating this new thread.

Aloha and Welcome to the New Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort Information Thread!

Contents & Quick Links:

The Polynesian Village Resort, or "Poly" for short, is a favorite of many Disney guests. The iconic setting along the Seven Seas Lagoon, the music drifting through the grounds, the lit torches at night, the lush landscaping, the Magic Kingdom and fireworks views across the water - it really is a special place.

The goal of this thread is to be a resource for guests and fans of Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. As has happened at various points in its near 50 year history, the resort is about to embark on its next evolution upon reopening after the COVID shutdown and subsequent major hotel-side renovation. As they become available the thread photos will continue to be updated to reflect the ongoing changes to the Polynesian as they are completed.

If you have any questions that are not answered in the information section, please feel free to ask and hopefully one of our Poly faithful will be able to help!

Thanks and acknowledgements are in order for the contributions and hard work of former keepers of the Poly thread, @SeaSpray, @BreezysMom, @guitarob, @maiapapaya, along with others that carried the tiki torch before them.

So grab a Lapu Lapu, Dole Whip, Bread Pudding, or plate of 'Ohana noodles and join the fun!

Pictures of room views, recreation calendars/signs, and general happenings around the resort are always appreciated.

Mahalo!
Thank you for the new thread. Love all the great information. ☺

Outstanding new look for the Poly thread! Wonderful job!

Oh my goodness these new rooms are beautiful! We have 2 days at Pop before we move over to Beach Club for Food & Wine. I am so tempted to book those 2 days at Poly :rolleyes1
You should. We went to Poly in April and then to beach club ( we had stayed there before and loved it). Both my kids said that had wished for Poly the whole time.

Are the dvc studios the ones being rethemed to Moana?

No, the "Moana-themed rooms" are just the hotel-side rooms. The DVC studios are receiving a soft good refresh in the coming months, but at this point I don't think we know what, if anything, will be changed from a design/theming perspective.
