I've seen ducks there, I've seen ducks in Yacht/Beach pool, they are everywhere! One climbed up next to me while I was on a beach lounger. At night.

Is it normal to have several ducks swimming in the Oasis pool? While doing a tour of the Poly grounds yesterday we noticed 5-6 ducks swimming in the pool each time we walked by. While cute, it's not real appealing with small children. Just wondered if this was a fluke? I haven't seen ducks in any other Florida resort pools.

Yes, they are frequent visitors and pests at all of the Disney pools. BWI, YC/BC have made a concerted effort with dogs trained to sniff out nests to lower the numbers, but they do persist. You're right--it is disgusting. :scared:

I've seen ducks in every resort pool I've been to at Disney at one time or another. They particularly seem to like the Oasis pool for some reason. It happens. Personally I think whatever may come from the ducks is the least of my worries in a Disney pool, but that's just me.

we've had no problem making requests via the TP fax for stays on rented points or our own points. =)
Good to hear! We stayed at POFQ last year and sent a request through TP and got exactly what we wanted, I was worried I wouldn't be able to put in a request that way since we're renting DVC this year.

Hello! Was wondering if anyone has been able to book a bounce back offer recently from the Poly? Hoping we can for our BC Sept. trip :)
Two weeks ago we booked a spring break Poly stay as a bounce back. The first time I called, they only had CL for my dates. I had to think about it. When I called back the next day, they had a SV for those same dates. So, it might be worth trying early in your stay to book your bounce back, then if they don't have what you want, you can try again later.

Thank you ! Will do :)

Hi! Staying at Poly next month and I'm wondering what the bedding is like. I'm always cold and in thinking if it's thin blankets I may need to bring some extra?
Thanks!

Everywhere. My daughter had a blast swimming with the ducks at a quiet pool at CSR a few years back. She called it the duck pool and didn't want to go to the main pool for the rest of the trip.

My comments are about the hotel side, not the DVC side (I don't have experience with those rooms). To me the bedding is pretty standard hotel stuff...it's not the Four Seasons but it's not a Motel 6. Somewhere in the middle but maybe more on the economy side. There's an extra blanket in the closet and you can always ask for more blankets if needed.

I will say that I find the HVAC controls in the Poly rooms among the best of ANY hotel I have ever stayed. They have old school thermostats that actually work, not the more modern day ones that barely adjust up/down when you change the temperature. You can freeze meat in your room or you can crank up the heat (even in summer). So, you can really dial it in to suit your fancy.

Hope that helps!

No need to bring your own blankets. If you think you'll need extra blankets, call Mousekeeping and they will bring it.

Thanks so much!
Glad to hear it will accommodate! I had read that the beds really didn't have heavy spreads anymore so they could be washed easier.

Just wanted to share a great experience we had at the Poly yesterday. My husband and I are currently in Orlando for a non-Disney visit but wanted to look at some properties before booking our May 2018 stay with the whole family. We parked at the Poly and went into the lobby and asked the CM at the CL desk if it would be OK to walk the grounds and look at the buildings as we are considering 3 rooms for next year's reservation. She was so helpful and offered to show us the CL in Hawaii and also showed us a ground floor SV room. It was great to be able to see in person the view from each side of the building as well as proximity to the pools, etc. She gave us a property map and encouraged us to walk the grounds. We had a nice relaxing glass of wine outdoors at Trader Sam's Tiki Bar before getting on our way. The resort definitely left a great first impression.

Glad you enjoyed your Poly tour. The Poly is a great resort, I hope you are able to stay there for your family trip :).

Like the pp's, we've seen ducks in the Poly pool, as well as other resort pools (especially WL).

Just wanted to add that you can always call after you get home and change resort/room type (pending availability). The BB needs to be booked on or before your check out day, but modifications can be made after your trip (if available) ;).

What kind of coffee makers are in the studios? Regular full size coffee pots? Or the pod ones?

Looking for preferences. Do most prefer higher floor with balcony or main floor with patio? We'll be there with our kids (1,5&7). We rented dvc points so I'd like to request through the company we rented with, but I wasn't sure which to go with!
