Sorry I have another question...are there plenty of outlets in the standard rooms. We will need to charge 4-5 devices. Some people recommend bringing power strips with them to WDW. Is that necessary at Poly?
We started taking a power strip last year and now it stays on our list of things to pack. It worked out great and is nice to have everything charging in one spot (I worry about leaving stuff behind, unnoticed).

Power strips don't take up much room in a bag, and they really do save the day if you're charging 2 phones, let alone 2 phones + any other devices.

...and even if they don't use them during the stay, the kids' tablets save my brain on the airplane, and if they save MY brain, imagine what they do for the brains of other airplane occupants not predisposed genetically to put up with them. :rotfl2:

Beee uuuuu tiful. Makes me even more excited!! 47 days till our first Poly stay!

You will be checking in before you know it :yay:.

So when we stay at Poly, we try to charge our things before bed so we can keep checking them to be sure they are charging.

Great idea ::yes::.

I also liked visiting GF, so beautiful....I see a resort stay there in the future, if I can score good FL res. rates.

The GF is amazing, I'm sure you'd love it! The Poly will always be my favorite, but the GF runs a very close second ;).

ETA..Johnsonet What beautiful pictures!!! thanks for sharing...Makes me even more excited for our upcoming Poly stays!

Thanks. Have fun-

Anyone if we clare allowed to use a baby pool float in the pool?

Yes. I've read that you can use your own floats.

We charge 3 phones and 1 or 2 ipads with no problems, aside from the loose outlets mentioned by others.

I cant even imagine my nerves by the time got to MCO if DD4 hadn't had her tablet last year.

Love resort soundtracks. My 2 faves are Poly and YC/BC.
Thank you so VERY VERY much for sharing! We will be here post DCL cruise to ring in the NY. It's also celebrating my 50th. I've never been fortunate enough to go to Hawaii so this is MY treat to myself as a BDay gift. The rest of the vacation is for my daughter.

I can't wait :goodvibes

Random question, but one that just started to irk me. Why is there no fitness center at PVR? Every deluxe resort should have a fitness center. This is standard in the most basic hotels. When I went to the WDW site, there was almost nothing on this subject (not even saying that the PVR does not have a fitness center). So then when I did some searching on other sites (wdwinfo.com, touringplans.com), and I found out that guests of PVR can use the GF fitness center which is open 24 hours, so during our next trip I'll be schlepping over to GF to use their cardio equipment. Inconvenient! Okay, done ranting and now back to loving DW :worship:

Fitness centers are a must for our family of 4, and I agree Poly makes it a bit more tricky trying to fit in our workouts. On MK days, what worked best for us last trip was to take the boat back from MK and get off at GF and stop at the fitness center on our walk back to Poly. We weren't in our workout clothes, but we were hot and sweaty anyway, so in the end it really didn't matter too much. On non-MK days...we just sort of winged it on the best timing to walk over to the fitness center. My kids didn't really mind cause they jogged over for the extra work-out.

Sounds like a great birthday gift! You will have a great time as the Poly is amazing :wizard:.

I don't disagree that it's a miss for Poly not to have a dedicated fitness center, but I've actually come to enjoy using the GF fitness center when there. It's a beautiful walk and not *that* far away. It's a good warm up and cool down period. It's a nice fitness center with a relatively decent amount of equipment too (this could vary obviously depending on your needs). Overall, it gets 1.5 thumbs up from us despite it being at GF.

Only 51 days away! Ugh, feels like time is beginning to stand still. So we decided NOT to do online check-in and just go old school on arrival. My parents are arriving much earlier than we are (around Noon by the time their flight gets in and ME gets them over to the resort) so we'll let them check-in and inquire as to whether our only request of having connected or nearby rooms was honored. If not, hopefully there may be more wiggle room for them to move the room assignments around so we can be near each other. We won't arrive until 3:30 or so. As for the location...we like playing room-roulette! Really we don't care where we are. It's all new and interesting to us. Even a parking lot view isn't a bad thing. We like being near our car for quick access. It'd be nice to be within a shortish walk to the TTC too, but whatever!

I did our airline check-in early this morning, and we are furiously finishing laundry and packing. We should be landing in Orlando just about 23 hours from now. It is finally here!

THANK YOU to all those who post on this thread, it has been such a great source of information.

I will keep in touch from the resort
