Morning @mickeynut1 Any Pic requests???

:wave2:

Johnsonet gave some nice suggestions, but anything would be great as I never get tired of seeing pics of the beautiful Poly :cloud9:.

Long time lurker here...thanks to everyone for the helpful information!

Getting so excited for our 8/15-8/21 first time at the Poly, but also a little nervous. We will have WDW first timers with us and really hope we chose the right resort to get them hooked like we are! They are a family of 5 with kids ages 8, 6, and 4, so thought that it would be a good fit for them and we have always wanted to stay there.

You will love the Poly, as will the first timers :goodvibes. Have a great trip!

Can't imagine a better choice for first-timers :rockband:

I agree :).

I will be there in 4 days.

We will be there the 15-21 as well!!!

We will be there for the first time too the 13th-20th :)))))

14-21 for us

We are staying from 8/28-9/1.

Hope all of you have a great trip and enjoy the Poly :wizard:.

We check in tomorrow. I can't take the wait. Finally our time has come.

Have a great time! :banana::banana::banana:

We'll be there 14-19.

We got our MBs yesterday.....the trip is getting SO close!! :hyper:

Have a great trip! :cool1::cool1::cool1:

Hi everyone. Just got back from my weekend at POLY and WOW!! We had such a great time. We did not do the parks this time...we just enjoyed the resort amenities and took a trip to Disney Springs. It was very relaxing, the CM's are awesome, I can see why you all rave about them. I want to try all the Disney resorts and so far, this ranks on the top. We did visit GF for Cinderella's dinner and CR-just to visit and I see a GF stay in the future. I was not impressed with CR except my DD did enjoy some time in the arcade.

This is the first time we have booked directly with Disney as we usually rent points from a member, do standard view rooms have pack and plays in the room or do I need to request that when we check in?? Thanks!

You will need to request one. I'd call to have it added to your reservation prior to arrival, and it should be in your room when you check in.

When I first started going to the Polynesian without parents I loved booking lagoon view room (before they added Theme Park View) and my favorite longhouse for lagoon view was in Moorea. Now Moorea is DVC. I use to say the money was better spent on lagoon view than it was on club level because back then a regular lagoon view room was the same rate as a garden club level room.

Now that many of the lagoon view rooms are now Theme Park View and more expensive and you can no longer get one in Moorea unless you stay Lake View DVC Studio, I think my opinion has changes. I stayed lagoon view in Tuvalu back when it was Samoa and it was a nice view but I was not a fan of the location. Now I think I would not spend my money on lagoon view for a few reasons. It really is expensive now is the main reason. Also with no guarantee of being in Tuvalu I would not really want to pay that much to be in a lagoon view room in Aotearoa that is set very far back from the beach (just my personal opinion). Also if you don’t like ground level or want a balcony you only have two rooms in Aotearoa that are lagoon view that are 3rd floor (with a balcony). There are no lagoon view rooms in Tuvalu on the 3rd floor so you will either be on the second floor with no balcony or on the 1st floor. There are only 18 rooms at the resort now that are lagoon view (not in club level) so requesting anything will be tough unless not many have booked a lagoon view.

The only way I am spending more is for club level, otherwise I rather take the views and better location of some of the standard view rooms.
Do you feel the MK view is worth the price upgrade from a std room?

A real personal decision for you to make. How much time do you really spend in the room?

For us it is not a factor as we can have a great view by walking to the various areas of the great resort. I would suggest that you consider what you could do with the price difference between the SV room and the TPV view.

We are checking in on July 31 and celebrating my daughter's birthday while there (Aug. 4th). Should I call and make sure it's noted on our reservation? I know there are no guarantees we will receive any pixie dust. Any benefits to mentioning it before we arrive or should I just wait until check in?
