Any updates on when the Oasis Pool might reopen? I'm going in mid-May and am curious if it will be open by then.

Has anybody tried fitting a pack n play or portable crib in the smaller bathroom (stand up shower only)? DD is a light sleeper and I think having a "separate" sleeping space for her would be ideal. Thanks!
I have heard numerous reports of people doing exactly this in the DVC Studio secondary bathroom. It's a tight fit, and you will want to make sure everything is off the counter and towel racks. This is our plan in May, and really what sold us on the studio vs a standard room.

I made it through this whole big and beautiful thread! Thank you to all of the regular contributors. Amazing resource you have created! :worship:

I'm about to make my room selections and I think i've narrowed down my criteria.
3 kids (6, 4 and 8 months), one hubby and me. The theme of this trip is convenience! We are old and tired (lol) and the kids are young and full of steam :yay:.

I'm back and forth about whether to request ground floor (easy stroller access, not having to worry about elevators) or go with an upper room request. I'm also on the fence about Samoa or Rorotango or Fiji in terms of convenience in relation to the transportation. Are we talking just a few steps difference between these longhouses or is Rorotango significantly closer to the monorail? And where is the bus stop located?

I think Samoa is in a great location. We found it to be very convenient to everything as it's just steps from the pool, GCH, Captain Cooks, and the beach :goodvibes.

It opened a few weeks ago :).

Thanks @_auroraborealis_ I'm leaning towards Rarotonga. They are newly renovated ,right? I think i'm going to go with ground level so that we can motor in and out quickly...we are always bordering on running late so we need every minute we can get to arrive on time. Lol....

Thank you @mickeynut1 ! We're so excited! I hear so many great things about Samoa...such a tough choice. And really, no guarantee anyway! I'm sure there isn't a 'bad choice'. :)

I am staying at the Poly for the first time in November and am planning dinning. I was thinking of trying Trails End but don't know how would I get there from the poly. Any suggestions?

I think by boat would be a good option... take the boat to Magic Kingdom and transfer to Fort wilderness boat... but someone else might know better?

I'm a bit overwhelmed planning my first trip for August! I have a standard view, regular room--not studio, not DVC, not CL. From what I've read so far, my choices are...

Fiji, Samoa, Niue, Rarotonga, Tuvalu, or Aoteaora (and I know some of these only have certain standard view rooms). And if I want a balcony, it's only third floor.

Is that correct? For us, I think the balcony is the most important, even more so than where the actual location is. So when I request, I can make that my priority, correct?

On first floor, you get a patio. Second floor is where there is no action.

23 days until we go home to the Poly!!

You will be checking in before you know it :yay:.

You're welcome! I agree, I don't think there's a bad choice at the Poly. The grounds are beautiful everywhere you look and while some longhouses are closer to the main areas than others, the resort isn't that spread out (IMO), so nothing is really that far away :goodvibes.

I agree with Cluelyss and goofynut41 on taking the boat :).

Yes, if a balcony is a priority, I'd make that your #1 request. You can also request a certain longhouse if you want, but I'd put that 2nd if a balcony is more important ;).

We are also heading to trails end from the poly. Boat is best.

I didn't notice a spot on MDE where I could add comments to my online check in. I can only choose two options for my room selections. @Cluelyss or anyone else who requested an allergy preventative deep clean...where did you add that request?

You'll have to call the Main Reservation Line to add that request to your reservation.

Are you going for breakfast or dinner? We have not eaten there before but from all I read it sounds like a good restaurant to try. It's our first time staying in the MK area so I'm looking for some new dining ideas.
