Just added a poly stay in Dec 2015 before my Dolphin reservation. Going for my birthday and planning on doing a wishes private cruise. Staying CL GV room.

I think I have most of my questions answered but just wanted to check with the experts today:

1. I assume the concierge will help arrange a wishes cruise, or should I call special events at 180 dyas out?
2. We are staying elsewhere Friday night and planning to arrive early Saturday. How early can we get into the club lounge that day?

Thanks!

2... I was told we could check in as early as we want and start using the amenities while you wait until the room is ready.

Thank you.

Touring plans has Wishes at 8PM that night, although they are listing holiday wishes, which I doubt will be the case. 8PM sound right? Can I get a whole meal catered on the boat? I wonder if you can do O'hanna's?
Like to end the day at Trader Joe's but would need to get a sitter.

we will be there on the 15th, hopefully there won't be too many problems w the monorail

Hope you have a great trip :wizard:.

We were only able to book half our stay in a lagoon-view room and half in a theme-park view. We're really fine with either one, but this was all that was available on our very restricted range of dates for travel to Orlando this time.

Which longhouse would be best to request at check-in so that the logistics of moving between the two rooms is minimized? In looking over the incredibly helpful pages provided by Tikiman (thank you!) and Touring Plans (thank you!) we had planned to request 3rd floor of Tuvalu. Is that the best choice? We have always stayed at Contemporary so this is our first time to try Polynesian! :)

Congrats on your first upcoming Poly stay. Your question has been answered, but I wanted to say I hope you have a great time :goodvibes.

Question for all....we r renting points and have standard view studio. It's myself, DH and DS(13). We want 3rd floor. What is the best building to ask for? We dont mind walking and dont have to be close to anyone thing. Our trip is booked july 9th-16th. Any help would be great.
Thanx

I can't help with a specific building as we've never stayed DVC, but wanted to say I hope you have a great trip :).

I'm here now, and the weather is incredible. Dry and sunny. Just beautiful. A little snafu with the room, but fixed and we are happy.

Glad the weather is nice, have a great time :wizard:.

Definitely keep checking as availability does sometimes change ;).

1. They can, but since you are going in December I would get it booked at 180 days whether you do it or IPO does it.

2. You can check in as early as 6AM and get access to the lounge as soon as it opens.

Do you have a time machine?!

I made it through this whole big and beautiful thread! Thank you to all of the regular contributors. Amazing resource you have created! :worship:

I'm about to make my room selections and I think i've narrowed down my criteria.
3 kids (6, 4 and 8 months), one hubby and me. The theme of this trip is convenience! We are old and tired (lol) and the kids are young and full of steam :yay:.

I'm back and forth about whether to request ground floor (easy stroller access, not having to worry about elevators) or go with an upper room request. I'm also on the fence about Samoa or Rorotango or Fiji in terms of convenience in relation to the transportation. Are we talking just a few steps difference between these longhouses or is Rorotango significantly closer to the monorail? And where is the bus stop located?

Also...my 2 big kids are allergic-types with severe asthma. They generally take awhile to adjust to new stimuli in hotel rooms. Is it true you can request for them to do a 'deep clean' of the room to help with allergies? How do you word that in your requests? Poly doesn't allow dog guests do they? We'd be in a world of trouble if they did because my kids would be a mess for the whole week with their allergies!

Thanks for any and all help!!

Raratonga will be closer to the resort monorail than the other options, and about the same as Samoa for walking to the TTC for Epcot monorail.

None of the Disney resorts allow dogs, save for appropriate service animals as required under the ADA. You can ask for a deep clean.

I should remember this, but I don't: In the Poly studios, what kind of coffee filter is used? I think it's a 10-cup coffeemaker, but can't remember if uses a basket shape filter, pointy cone-shaped filter, or this shape.

Hey Tiki!

Going to the "New" rooms this time....Villa's. That means giving up our usual favorite longhouse Fiji...

We like a nice view (garden) and a quieter area...and recommendations?

Xipo

(Good to see you again!)

For a deep clean, add a request for a VIP cleaning of the room to your reservation. They will launder all sheets and towels in dye free / fragrance free detergent. We've been doing this for years for my son with extremely sensitive skin, with great results.

This is great to know. Is the bus located at the monorail station? Or over at the TTC area? I guess I can't really go wrong with either if it's just a few steps difference to the monorail :) Thank you!

I am SO happy to read this @Cluelyss ! I would have never thought to request this. I'm wondering if they will include non-down pillows too? I'd be thrilled to not have to deal with coughing and hives for the first few nights!

The monorail stop is on the second floor of the Poly, the bus stop is outside the main entrance on the first floor, and the TTC is just a quick walk away.

Raratonga is right at the main bus stop for the buses to Disney Springs, DHS and Animal Kingdom. The big difference is if you catch the monorail at Poly, that's really best for Magic Kingdom. You probably want to walk to TTC for the Epcot monorail, as taking the monorail from Poly to Epcot is a really slow process. Separate lines.

Niue is also a good location.

Has anybody tried fitting a pack n play or portable crib in the smaller bathroom (stand up shower only)? DD is a light sleeper and I think having a "separate" sleeping space for her would be ideal. Thanks!

From what I read online, I think the only way you can get hear the soundtrack for wishes is in the King Kamehameha Club Lounge. Also if you are staying in one of the Bungalows they have speakers on the patio deck.
You can also hear the wishes soundtrack while watching it on the the Poly beach. We've done that several time and it's awesome. They even stop the movie for the fireworks.
