What did I miss regarding monorail closures?

We were only able to book half our stay in a lagoon-view room and half in a theme-park view. We're really fine with either one, but this was all that was available on our very restricted range of dates for travel to Orlando this time.

Which longhouse would be best to request at check-in so that the logistics of moving between the two rooms is minimized? In looking over the incredibly helpful pages provided by Tikiman (thank you!) and Touring Plans (thank you!) we had planned to request 3rd floor of Tuvalu. Is that the best choice? We have always stayed at Contemporary so this is our first time to try Polynesian!

Question for all....we r renting points and have standard view studio. It's myself, DH and DS(13). We want 3rd floor. What is the best building to ask for? We dont mind walking and dont have to be close to anyone thing. Our trip is booked july 9th-16th. Any help would be great.

We had a theme park view in Tuvalu. LOVED IT!!! Is directly on the water and absolutely beautiful views! We used the boat for transportation to MK every time besides once on our 3 MK days as it is the most convenient from this building.
The 1st floor in Tuvalu is lake view, but I met people staying on first floor and they could also see castle, space mountain,etc... 3rd floor is tpv..again--LOVED OUR VIEW!!!
So if you stay in that building it may be an easier transition. Have a wonderful time

The challenge of moving between rooms, even in the same building, is you're STILL gonna have to pack up your luggage entirely and send it to Bell Services if the room you're moving to needs to be turned over by housekeeping.

So, unless you're more concerned about being a creature of habit, it doesn't quite matter if you stay in the same building or not.

We visited the Poly when the were doing a really amazing torch ceremony. Do they still do the torch lighting ceremony at 6pm? If so, which nights?

Thank you! I think we will go ahead and request Tuvalu 3rd floor for both stays. I'm really excited to try out the boat transport -- we've never used it because it is so easy to use the Monorail or walk at Contemporary.

Thanks! We've done back-to-back cruises where I felt like we kinda spent our day in the Embarkation Lounge, so I'm really happy to have somewhere fun to go, even though we have to move.

I'm going to be checking the availability periodically -- maybe I can extend one or the other of the two reservations so that we only have one reservation when it's time to travel. Thank you again!

I thought I saw something that said the Poly Villas Studios don't have a microwave (which to me would mean it's not a "Deluxe" Studio). Haven't been able to verify. Anyone know? I NEED a microwave.

I could be wrong, but I think dvc is all in the same building, besides the bungalows. I know club level is only in Hawaii..not sure of the name of the dvc longhouse.

DVC Standard View Studios are in Moorea (one side), Pago Pago and Tokelau.

Everyone (almost) asks for third floor Tokelau. No one asks for Pago Pago.

Yes, there's a microwave. Was there in Aug 2015. You will love it! Will be in a standard room this upcoming Aug. Will miss the 2 washrooms!

I asked the same thing, and was told no. There are large cabana-ish structures at the oasis pool, but I guess they are first come first served. I do hope the Poly puts in cabanas to rent soon. I know the GF has them, and deluxe resorts at Universal has them. Renting them has always added to the fun of our Universal stays.

The majority of the photos in the first post are post-renovation (including those of the pool). I only noticed a few in some of the longhouse pictures that were older.
