And I just got the ok from the principle at ds school! That was one big anxiety that I had.

As a Canadian teacher, I am confident that a principal would NOT ever tell a parent they should not go on a planned trip. However, if there were something big happening, ie provincial testing, they would inform/remind parents. I would never, as a parent, feel any anxiety about taking my child out of school for a trip. Never!

Hi all-
We will be doing an engagement photoshoot with Disney's Fine Art Photography at the Polynesian on May 19, at 8:00am. I would love to include some Mickey balloons in our photos, however I am having trouble finding a way to get them for two reasons: 1) I am staying at AKL and balloons are not allowed because of the animals, so I cannot just pick up the balloons the night before and 2) MK doesn't open until 9:00am, so I cannot run over to the park that morning and grab some.

So my question: is there anyone who will be at the Polynesian the morning of the 19th, either staying at the resort or visiting for breakfast- who would be willing to pick up some balloons for me the night before and bringing them to me? I would pay you for them of course and I would be sooo incredibly grateful!

Thank you for your time!

Have you thought about asking the photography people to bring them and add it to the charge for your session? Just a thought. . .

You could probably get the Disney florist to deliver some.

Service has been excellent in the club lounge. CMs are always willing to get us something from the back if needed (cartons of milk for the kids, beers for the hubby). Breakfast is plentiful and more than enough for us. Very nice to just grab and go before the parks. Evening has been excellent with a few wine offerings and a yummy adult punch. The desserts have not thrilled any of us but we haven't really been hungry for it either. Wishes was awesome from the lounge. The Hawaii building is super conveniently located too. Definitely a great experience!!

I just returned from my first stay at the poly and we absolutely loved it!! It was only for one night after a DCL cruise but it was amazing and thanks to everything I read on this forum I felt like I knew the resort so well. We spent the afternoon enjoying the oasis pool and it was amazing. I love the that they opened a quick service restaurant there so you don't even have to leave the pool area.
We usually stay at the Boardwalk but now that I am a DVC owner at the Poly I am so happy with my purchase. I already have us booked to go back for a week in November.! We can't wait to be back home!

A little over a month more to go- and I can't wait! Looking at QS menus (we are on Dining Plan)- does the new Oasis Pool Bar take DP? I looked online at MDE- and it said that some Dining Plans accepted but haven't seen much about it on the boards. Their menu looks better than Capt. Cooks..so my fingers are crossed!

BenandMorgsMom on page 275 said yes and put a copy of the menu. Sorry on my iPhone and it won't let me copy.

Sorry for another question. We have CL-GV booked. Our online check in window opened up and we checked the Touring Plans room view finder= it shows that on the lower level of Hawaii there are rooms that face the bungalows classified as GV. is this for real? If so, how can I request on of those?

Only 13 days until our trip!

Hope you have a great trip :goodvibes.

My son and I are scheduled to stay at the Poly in Sept. He has never stayed there and I have not been there since the 70s. Any tips on room requests or are we better off just chancing it? I would like a balcony but apparently they are only on the third floor? Any tips for a 24 year old male and his mother would be appreciated.

If there isn't a particular longhouse you want, I'd just request 3rd floor balcony. We love Samoa as it's convenient to everything, but IMO, there's really not a bad location at the Poly :).

We leave in a couple of weeks. We are so excited for our first Poly stay. We are DVC members and will get a lakeview room. If I want to request a third floor should I do online check in or is there a number to call the resort directly? Thanks in advance .

Hope you have a great time! :wizard:

I like both ideas that Tess and aaarcher86 posted. I think having the photography people bring them would be the easiest, but having Disney Florist deliver them would work too, provided they could deliver early enough in the morning ;).

Thanks for checking in. Glad you're having a good time and enjoying Poly CL :goodvibes.

Heading down Friday night for our first stay at Poly and CL too.

Have a great trip :yay:.

When construction was going on for the bungalows they had some of the north facing rooms in Hawaii as Garden Club View but once they opened the bungalows the rooms on the ground floor went back to Lagoon Club and Theme Park Club view.

I wouldn't trust that those are actually GV. I have found the Touring Plans room finder tool to be extremely inaccurate.

It was accurate at the time they set it up. The views and view categories have changed since then but at the time they were going off what the Polynesian had them categorized as.

Hi!

We're staying at the Poly April 9-15. I'm a bit confused at the monorail closures...does this mean at some points the monorail won't be running AT ALL?

thanks :)

We will be there, too (myself and my two sisters). We're not too happy about the monorail closures. And there seem to be a lot of them. But, I still would rather stay here than almost anywhere else. So I guess we will just have to deal with it. Had I known it would be so many closures, I would have possibly picked an Epcot area deluxe. But we are thrilled to be getting out of the cold weather. Can't wait to sit by the pool....

Have a great time! we will be there on the 15th, hopefully there won't be too many problems w the monorail

I think I remember seeing somewhere that stroller exchanges are no longer posted, but I'm not sure. We will have a double
Stroller to leave at the Poly on 8/28 and I feel so bad thinking about just leaving it to be trashed. What do folks
Suggest to do? Thanks! :)

Do any of the non dvc rooms have a usb charging station? I think bc has them now in the base of lamps?

EDIT: Sorry, I misread your post. I thought you inquired about DVC rooms. I don't know about NON-DVC. Oops!
