We arrive in 3 weeks! Any updates on the parking situation? When we were there last Labor Day, it was near impossible to find a spot, except for in the DVC lot. Can hotel guests (non-DVC) also park in this lot?

Just switched my DVC reservation to Polynesian Villas SS for July 24-29 excited for another great stay and hoping the East pool will be finished!

Just changed my March reservation of 2 nights YC/3 nights CBR to 2 Poly/3 CBR!! There was only TPV available when I booked originally, but luckily a standard opened up so we switched for only $70 more. It's my Mom's dream resort so she's thrilled! We all are! I requested Fiji - West facing.

I really want a Dole Whip right now!!! :)

Congrats on the change! March will be here before you know it :yay:.

How/where you book has zero affect on getting your requests granted.

:thumbsup2

It's official! August trip booked! Poly, BC AND GF here we come!!! So excited!!!!party:

Sounds like a great trip with a nice combination of resorts ::yes::.

so I am trying to keep up here and find the info that I need within this thread, but I am not doing a very good job, what is the best location for the standard view room, view and building wise, truly appreciate any feedback you guys are willing to give. TIA :)

I don't think there's any bad location, but we loved Samoa as it's just steps from the GCH, pool, Captain Cooks, and the beach :goodvibes.

I know that it is listed in this thread what the options are for a DVC standard view studio room request during online checkin, but I can't find it... Help?

I'm not familiar with that, but hopefully others will be able to help :flower3:.

100 days till our first stay at the poly!!!

The time will go fast and you will be checking into the Poly before you know it :cool1:.

I can't help with the parking situation, but wanted to say I hope you have a great trip :wizard:.

12 days!!! We are almost able to pack!

High! We just chose Poly for a Late May / Early June trip, and I am behind the eight ball.

Resort Requests: I did a little research and think I would like Figi or Rarotonga. What would you suggest for a group of four (>70, 40something, DD 16, and DD14- all girls trip), booked standard, with desires to not see construction, hear construction, a rope drop - mid day break - close the park group, coffee/eggs/oatmeal in morning, pool maybe once, that would have grumpy teenagers if there was too much light or noise at night (midnight to 7AM). I bet none of the room requests for online check-in look like ours.

Food: I know we all would love this place for food. Since Poly has always been my dream resort, I have barred myself from dining at Poly before I ever get to actually stay. Now that We are staying! at Poly, I need to try the resort restaurants for the first time. Issue is I am at day 130 with no ADRs. Any suggestions to book as soon as I get a confirmation number would be much appreciated.

The construction is done except for at the quiet pool? Does anyone know the projected finish date? I have been looking on page one (most of it) of this thread, touringplans, and kikiman - but have not found any status updates.

Thank you kindly for any insight.

Disney Before Sally, you can make your adr's now, even without your confirmation # seeing as though you are within your 180 day window.

Thanks three cats! I still am waiting on travel agent and reservation number, but I booked 'Ohana dinner and a Luau.

Besides 'Ohana, where should I go for light breakfast?

Is there something I missed?

Hi! my family will be staying CL at the POLY starting on Saturday. Does CL offer REAL coffee or is it that Nescafe junk?
THANKS

Captn Cooks is great for a quick serve light breakfast or Kona Island for a pastry and good coffee.
Kona Cafe is a wonderful sit down breakfast too.

We wil be at the poly the second week of August. Is it possible to just walk up and eat lunch at Kona? I don't want to Make a ton of adr's except are must do's. We do plan on making a ADR for Ohana for DD birthday breakfest. I just wasn't sure if we can get into Kona for lunch on our pool day without a ADR.

We've only stayed in Samoa, but a lot of people suggest Fiji for quiet and nice views :).

As Three cats posted, you can make ADRs now since you are within 180 days.

I haven't been following the pool progress, but hopefully others will be able to give some insight as to a tentative completion date. Completion was originally scheduled for March/April, but construction started a month or two late, so I'm guessing it won't be complete until closer to summer.

I can't answer as we haven't tried CL, but hopefully others will be able to answer :flower3:.

We've only eaten at Kona a few times for dinner (always with an ADR), but I think your chances of getting seated for lunch without and ADR would be pretty good. With that said, hopefully others who have tried without an ADR will post their experience :).

I do know that you can walk up to Kona and ask the day of and see when they might be able to fit you in for lunch.
I also know that when we have had ADR's for Kona for lunch and went early we were seated as soon as they got the table together for us (we're a party of 6 or more depending on how many grandparents we travel with!)

Hello

We will be staying at the Poly in July. I have to admit, I am a YC girl but my agent had a great deal for the Poly for July. I stayed at the Poly once in 2003 and had a bad experience with really noisy (screaming at each other at all hours of the night) neighbors. We had bad bus karma too. I know that these things happen at all resorts so I am looking forward to giving the Poly another try!

We have a standard room booked. Is Rarotonga a good location? It looks to be close to the pools and also to the TTC which would be nice.

How is the pool situation? Is it so crowded that it is hard to get a lounge chair? We usually go during slow times, so this will be my first July trip.

What should we expect as far as wait times at Captain Cooks? Is lunch time really crowded or does it just depend?

Thanks for any advice or suggestions. I am feeling like such a first time visitor as we usually go in the slow time of September and stay at the YC and I just have no idea of what to expect with July crowds and also a different resort!
