If the monorail is down and we need to be at MK for a pre-park opening ADR is my best bet the boat from Poly? Does anyone know what time it starts running? We would want to be at MK by 7:45 at the latest. I am getting extremely excited! I can't wait to find out what our room is.

What room did you have?
I got it for $238.50 (including tax) per night! 4 nights...Aug. 23-27. I'm at the YC for 4 nights before that for $214.88 (including tax) per night! Can not wait for August 2016!!!!!

I asked for a quote at the Poly for Aug 14-Sept 2. Once I got it, I booked the entire time but we need to shave 3 days because we just weren't sure of our dates. I know we're going for 15 nights, so I just divided by 15 and got $266/taxes in. Is the week prior to your week more expensive traditionally? I didn't think so, but now I'm wondering why your quote is substantially lower? Hmmmm...just wondering

Edit: @T&G1994 not sure how I attached your post ????? Lol

We had no problem getting the boat in time for our ADR, and I'm sure we were there by 745 at the latest.

Thanks! I read on a website that the boat starts running 30 minutes prior to park opening so I was getting worried. Thanks!

This is the 1st time I'm going this time of year and using the magical deal. It might be cheaper because most schools are back in session the week I am going. I think a lot of schools are still out the week before. But only a guess. I booked a standard room.

Can't believe we will finally be at the Polynesian tomorrow. So very excited to start our magical Disney vacation!!!! Not sure how much sleep I'll be getting this evening.

Have a great time! :yay:

You can't beat those rates :thumbsup2.

I see in your signature that you have an 18 yo DS. If he's included in the room, the difference in your rate vs the pp's would be the extra adult charge of $25 ($28 w/tax) :).

This seems to be at most of the hotels. They really need to lower the volume at least a little bit or use multiple permanent speakers so that it can be heard but doesn't sound like a bullhorn.
The other thing they ought to do is teach the CM's how to use a mic so they can heard and its not muffled due to them eating the mic.
LOL...yeah, it all sounds like brub, brub, brub, brub!

Acutally, at least at Poly...they don't really need to use the mic at all. My son-in-law said that at the contemporary there wasn't even anyone paying attention to the CM and she/he still did the whole program with no on listening!

As mickynut mentioned, it's possible you're paying more for an extra adult but also aren't weekend rates always slightly higher? You would have more weekends in your plan so that might be another reason.

Just as an FYI, we tried to take the boat at 7:30AM on Sunday and it wasn't running. They said boat service wouldn't start until 8:30. Not sure if this was a weekend thing or not. I will say we never had a monorail issue. Even the EPCOT Spur was up and running early in the morning. We were able to take it to an 8:15AM pre-park opening on Saturday (got to EPCOT about 7:45).

I wish I could "like" this multiple times!! We'd love it if Disney would reconsider the afternoon "party." In our experience, very few kids actually participate and the volume is crazy loud. We have three boys, ages 16, 15 and 8 and our teens are starting to dislike pool time based on the volume of the games. Our 8-year-old is too busy swimming in the pool to think about participating. It was just as loud at WL and BWI this year as it was at Poly. It doesn't seem to have as much impact at BC because the pool is so spread out. And at GF, the volume seemed a little lower and it was mostly trivia questions that the kids answered while swimming.

I just wanted to chime in to say I have a DS5 who loves the afternoon pool parties - he wants to go specifically when they are going on. We have spent time at them at the Poly multiple times, the WL, Pop, and GF and he loves them all. I can see how the noise does detract from a nice afternoon at the pool - I felt that way before I saw how much he loves them so now I happily go when they are happening to see how much fun he has. At nearly all resorts, and particularly the GF, there is another pool that is still quite nice but doesn't have the noisy pool party every afternoon. I just wanted to give a different perspective, and to let people know that there are kids that do love the parties! Also, when he participates, there are always lots of kids participating with him, so he isn't the only one who enjoys them.

This is a good point. I definitely overstated it by suggesting Disney should reconsider the afternoon pool party, and certainly don't want to deter anyone from experiencing the main pools! Our kids usually enjoy a fun, goofy fun party, and even our older boys remain super festive in their teen years! They just don't like the pool parties because of the microphone volume. Especially at feature pools, we expect noise, loud music, laughing, splashing and merriment of all kinds and sorts! For us at least, it's really all about the volume of the microphone. Based on our experiences this year, the microphone volume does not seem necessary to reach the participating kids. So we're just wondering if they can bring down the mic volume (or as gdrj mentioned, make it less muffled!) :)

So excited to soon be at the Poly. We have a standard view studio booked...looking for suggestions on room requests or building requests. This is our first time at the Poly so any help would be appreciated!

Ah darn! DS just turned 18 last week. I didn't know there was an extra charge. Thanks @MickeyNut...now it adds up. ::yes::

@robinstrip, different days/times of year=different boat schedule???

We will be staying at Poly 2/3-2/8 just wondering if it might be warm enough to use pool...I know pool is heated and weather might be iffy! Ooh I think I just answered my own ? Anyway has anyone been able to use pool in Feb???

It is all personal choice. We stayed a AoA 3 years ago in February and it was bitter cold. 30s at night. During the day the pool was packed. We walked back late at night shivering and there was a family leaving the pool.

Thanks for sharing your experiences!

I'm definitely interested in how people decide how to get to pre-park ADRs. So the resort monorail starts at 7:30 every day, right? And I also thought the express monorail, ferry and resort boats all start 30 minutes before park opening (so 8:30 for a 9:00 open)? At least that's what it says on wdwinfo. I guess that's not always true? So if you want to see if they're running earlier, how far is the walk between the dock and the monorail? Is there any way to know if they're running besides seeing one (e.g. a flag or light or something)?

That's great the Epcot monorail was running! Do you know if it said that on the schedule or did you just chance it rather than walking to the bus stop?

Thanks!
