Well, we moved over to the Poly CL this morning from our CL stay at CR and sadly, we are not impressed so far. Our check-in had to be the worst in all of our trips for many reasons but in a nutshell we were never greeted by a CL CM and even after we approached the front desk and the CM scanned our bands, he proceeded to check us in himself which was painful to say the least. By the time he was done he handed us a map and we were left to go find the Hawaii bldg. ourselves. Not a great way to start but whatever we find the bldg pretty easy. We get to the bldg and only one of our bands worked to open the door...CM's inside were literally watching each of us try our bands and didn't bother getting up. Last band worked we walk in and tell them it was our first stay in CL and they asked us why no one escorted us in...being a little annoyed at the process so far, I pretty much told them it was a question I hoped they could answer. At this point they started working on the bands and ask if we had any questions...really?? How about letting us know if our room was ready, explaining where the lounge is, forget showing us, but but at least point us in the right direction...it's been all downhill ever since.

I was so worried about the view we were going to get because because of construction...well, let's just say that our 2nd room (yes, I said 2nd room) is on the 3rd floor and thanks to a massive tree we have in front of our balcony, the view is just fine and we haven't been bothered by noise at all. Service and interaction with CM's here so far, on the hand, including the CL CM's, haven't been good at all and I am comparing to all the other CL stays we've had thus far. Really hoping tomorrow is a better day!!!
Sorry to hear it's been so bad! We check in tomorrow, I'm hoping for a little better experience!!!!

We're at the Atrium club in the CR in Dec, was it better? Or were you tower club?

We're going to Poly in two weeks. I requested Niue - 1st or 3rd floor. Taking the construction on the quiet pool into consideration, should I change my request? I have no idea what to request instead? TIA

I believe Niue only has 2 floors and 2nd floor has no balconies (just FYI since you may get out there with no 3rd floor…)

We leave for Orlando tomorrow too. But we are arriving in the evening so we are staying at the MCO Hyatt and taking a car service to the Poly on Sunday morning. We should be getting there around 7:30am. SO excited!!

Have a great trip!

Have a great trip too! Be safe!

Question for Roman Catholic Poly Peeps... :teeth:

My daughter has to attend Sunday mass during our vacation....with me...... in order to fulfill a Confirmation requirement. Has anyone ever taken a taxi from the Poly to a RC Church? I have read that some taxi drivers will go out of the way in order to make a larger fare. Has anyone ever attended mass, and did you have any issues? Not really sure how much time I need to allow either.

Thanks!

We had booked a TPV, Atrium CL at CR but were upgraded to the Tower CL..and yes, everything and everyone there was amazing. I hope you have a better experience here at the Poly than we have had.

I saw your posts on the CR thread - you had the upgrade to a suite, right? How wonderful.

If you don't mind me asking, where was the first room they gave you and what was wrong with it?

I am so sorry that you had such a let down for your Polynesian CL check in. They should've sent you an email telling what to do. We still have 8 days until our trip, but we got this email about 2 weeks ago:

Aloha!

Thank you for choosing Disney's Polynesian Village Resort at Walt Disney World as your vacation destination. On behalf of our team, we would like to extend a warm welcome!

Let us take a moment to explain the Concierge Club check-in process. Upon your arrival at our resort, please proceed to the Valet Desk. You will then be met by one of our Curbside Cast Members who will escort you directly to the Club Concierge desk for check-in.

When you went to the front desk in the GCH the CM should have called the Hawaii building so that a CL CM could have met you in there and brought you to the Hawaii building for check-in.

I really hope that your stay improves! :flower3:

P.S. Where was your first room located and what was wrong with it???

what time would you recommend leaving the Poly for a 5:15 dinner reservation in Epcot Mexico pavilion? Planning on walking to TTC and taking monorail. TIA

I'd leave around 4pm or so, I know that sounds excessive but if you walk to the TTC an a monorail is just pulling out there will be a wait until the next one arrives. Then you may experience being held on the track for a little while. Factor in having to go through bag check, and get through the gate, then walk through Future World to World showcase and it eats up some time.

Ack! We are arriving a week from today and I didn't receive that email. Thanks for posting the info - I would have been clueless getting off DME!

Our flight was supposed to leave PIT at 12:50, but apparently radar is down around Baltimore and that's where our flight was coming from. So we're on a delay with no idea when it will end >:(

We should be arriving soon at th Poly, instead we're stuck at th airport TGI Fridays!!

So sorry to hear this. Try to stay positive and think" happy thoughts" and you will be in the Disney bubble before you know it!pixiedust:

Will they be changing the carpets/welcome mats? I've noticed in recent videos they all still say "Disney's Polynesian" instead of "Polynesian Village".

So far I think every CM we have interacted with here has been friendly and helpful

The best interactions have been with a CM at Captain Cooks who was "directing traffic" - recommended the fish tacos. Super good. He also helped in other ways

The barista at the Kona Island has been great while we were getting fresh pressed coffee the last 2 mornings

I've noticed a few random signs that need updating

Leaving for our first Poly stay one month from today:thumbsup2

Dumb question - is Trader Sam's worth a visit if you're not a drinker?

I would say if you are there and have time to pop in why not....but I wouldnt go out of my way to schedule it in.

My son and I shared a nautilus and were there for maybe a half hour...it was cute...server James was terriffic . If it wasn't 8pm and time for my 13 year old to leave( adults only after 8) I might have stayed a little longer...

We were told that putting more umbrellas tends to have guests hang out @ pool longer. Since it's not large enough (deck space) for all guests, they may not want us all there, all day. ???????
Makes sense....and those would probably only be taken by towels first thing in the morning and saved all day anyway.lol
