I emailed IPO about the 4th of July and this was their response! Sounds great!

"We do have a special menu for appetizer hour on July 4th! Currently the menu is chicken wings with hot sauce, hot dogs (ketchup, mustard, relish provided), baked beans, Luau salad (mixed greens, mandarin oranges, Mango Poppyseed dressing), cubed cheese & cracker (cheddar, swiss, monterey jack, pepper jack), peanut butter & jelly sandwiches. For dessert we will have brownies, apple tarts, cheery tarts, and pretzel sparklers. Please keep in mind the menu may be subject to change. Our club level guests will also have a reserved viewing area on the beach. Please let us know if we may be of further assistance."

I posted this on the CL thread, but just thought I'd follow up on this thread for people wondering:).

Pool and beach starting to fill up. I think a lot were non-guests....it will be interesting watching what happens this year
with the new fence.

Wow I didn't realize the fireworks were so close! Thanks for the pics!

I can't remember if I zoomed it a bit...probably not cause I think I took it on my cell phone. Although if I took the pic on my Ipad then I might've zoomed a bit. But, yes, either way it's an amazing view!

Thank you! I'm assuming if the monorail is not running until 8:30, that the bus would be the way to go from Poly to MK the morning of our early breakfast?

No - the boat :thumbsup2 There is no bus to MK (at least not that I know of!)

Thank you so much! I appreciate the feedback and information!

You're welcome :goodvibes You must be getting so excited about your trip!

I'm planning on being in line at about 8:15ish on 7/29( park currently opens at 9).
If we're staying at the Poly, am I right we'll have to take the bus because the monorail doesn't start running until 8:30? TIA

According to the Disney site, monorail service begins one hour prior to the earliest opening of the park. So it should start at 8

Here's the latest modified monorail schedule I know of: http://www.wdwmagic.com/transportat...ney-world-monorail-system-operating-hours.htm

If it is correct that they don't run buses to MK, then the boat may be the only option, but the schedules I find for the boat say they don't start running til 30 min prior to open...

Normally there is no bus service to MK from Poly. However, when the monorail is on an altered schedule an not running in the AM there will be buses. They do realize guests like to get to MK well before rope drop.

I just booked a last minute stay at the Poly for July 4 weekend. This will be our first stay at the Poly and we are super excited. I've always wanted to stay there. We are seasonal pass holders so we don't plan on going to the parks. We just want to enjoy the resort. What are some things we need to be sure to do?
Also, I need some info on where the best place to watch the fireworks from MK.

Thanks so much for sharing these photos! I'm booked into the Poly CL (theme park view) for September and I'm contemplating requesting a specific room. Do you remember your room number? I like the idea of being at the opposite end to the lounge, which is where you appear to have been :goodvibes

Yes we were on the other end -- 3517 I believe. At first I wasn't sure if we'd like being on that end, but we ended up loving it cause it was pretty quiet! No footsteps running by our room:) each morning. If you want a balcony (3rd floor) you could always request "balcony away from lounge" or something like that. I think there are some TPV rooms on the 2nd floor -- some people like the 2nd floor cause the food is on that floor, but we tend to rotate between 1st floor and 3rd floor because we like either a patio or balcony (no balcony on 2nd floor rooms). Have an awesome trip -- there's something special about a TPV room in Hawaii!!!:cloud9:
