Are there always taxis waiting for guests at the resorts or do I need to ask at the front desk for ordering a taxi?

I know, there is Uber, but we prefer not to use it

I'm sure there are times when one might not be available, but there has always been one there every time I've ever needed one. Has been the case at places like GF and CR in my experience as well. It's been like most major hotels that always seem to have a handful "hanging around" at all times.

Thank you. I was hoping for an answer like this because I did not know anything about the taxi situation at Disney

we will be on a tight schedule and a taxi will be our best option for some dining reservations

Well I'm on my countdown, sitting here listening to Christmas music daydreaming about the Polynesian. Dreaming about it even more than any park. Oh how I love the resorts. 19 more days! :cloud9:

Who knew when I took the picture of the Polynesian sculpture in my signature below, all those years ago, that she would see two weeks at our beloved resort in her crystal ball!!!! :jumping3:

There has always been a taxi ready at the Poly when we needed it.

Can anyone post a pic of the current refillable mug? Are they back to the ones with handles? I have been off the DIS for awhile & saw some posts earlier this year where the mugs had no handles, and everyone was up in arms, but then thought I saw that they were bringing the handles back. Thanks!

When we were there 11/24-11/28 they had handles.

We want to go to Sea World while staying at the Poly. We will not have car, what would be the best way to get there and back?

Suggestions on daily room service tips? Wanted to see what other typically leave.

Thank you for the replies. I was thinking around there but wanted to make sure I was in the ball park of the average tip.

I'm wondering for those who stayed at the Poly prior to a DCL cruise, could you please let me know what time the bus to the port came to pick you up and when you arrived at the ship. I'm debating if we should take the Disney bus or rent a car or book a car service.

Thanks for any advice you can offer!!!

Hi,

So we usually do one or two sit down breakfasts on our trip, later in the morning. Does Kona Cafe have mimosa's or bloody mary's available at breakfast (kind of an integral part of vacation sit down breakfast)? Would love to have breakfast right at our hotel! Or I suppose we can go over to the Wave, although I wanted to try that for dinner.

Well I've actually had a Lapu Lapu at breakfast. :rotfl: So I would say your chances are beyond good.

Perfect! Thanks! The Sunday we are there is going to be a lazy day as we will be waiting for my sister to arrive to stay the second half of our trip, so wanted a leisurely breakfast.

Today was our first night at the Poly and it's better than ever. The great CL staff/chef are still here and they have added a chicken/lettuce wrap station during snack time. They also have chips and veggies.

Dinner was fresher than previously served. Everything looks homeade and we no longer have the crab rangoons, conch fritters, etc. This has been replaced with sushi, mahi mahi, and sesame meatballs. Can't wait for the rest of the trip!
